Magus Supremacy

Chapter 511: A Reckless Plan!

Chapter 511: A Reckless Plan!

Chapter 511

"Dame! Dame! Dame!"

"The fuck you want?!" Dame roared angrily as he dangled on the chain inside his clan’s base.

He was about heading to the training ground when Finn’s voice echoed out, calling his name.

"Where are you headed?" Finn asked, causing Dame to lift an eyebrow.

"Why? Are you my mum or my girlfriend now?" Dame shot back with his brows knitted in annoyance.

"Forget about that," Finn said, waving his hand as if to brush off the jab. "If you’re not too busy, you need to take a look at this matter."

"Huh?" Dame muttered as he rubbed his temples before shaking his head. "I have three weeks before I get executed on the battlefield. Allow me prepare and train in peace, damn it." He glanced down, preparing to jump off the chain.

"The portal we usually use for hunts has registered an issue," Finn quickly said, forcing Dame to halt his movement and slowly turn around with a raised brow.

"Huh? What issue?" Dame asked in confusion.

"It’s flickering in and out, like it’s about to totally disappear. As if it’s losing the power to sustain itself," Finn replied, causing Dame’s eyes to widen.

"Crap! Nothing must go wrong with that portal. That’s our traini... wait a moment! Did you just say it’s flickering in and out?" Dame asked sharply.

"Yeah, why?" Finn asked.

"Oh shit! Who the fuck went into the portal?" Dame demanded with urgency in his voice.

"According to the watcher’s clan, no one did. Since we strictly bought the rights to the portal, no one can enter except for us," Finn replied.

’Something is wrong. The portal flickering like that means someone is forcefully trying to summon the boss beast by battling the other beasts inside. Crap! If the boss dies, the portal will close forever.’ Dame thought with a deepening frown.

’But if no one entered through the opening at the watcher’s clan, then that means...’ His eyes suddenly widened in realization.

"What are you thinking about?" Finn asked, noticing the sudden change in his expression.

"The Supreme Magus is here," Dame muttered grimly as he glanced up at the wide opening above them.

"Supreme Magus? What makes you say that?" Finn asked, startled.

"No time to explain right now. He’s calling onto me," Dame muttered, and without another word, he swirled Ki around his feet before exploding upwards toward the wide opening about five metres high.

"Wait up!" Finn shouted, scrambling after him as he leapt from chain to chain in a desperate bid to keep up.

Meanwhile, inside the portal, fifty dead beasts lay sprawled across the ground. Blood stained Grey’s hood, and his blade dripped crimson as the metallic scent filled the air.

He had a small smile tugging at his lips as he ordered Thalos to extract the beast cores while he went ahead in search of more prey.

"What are you doing, you fool?" Thalos shouted, frustration echoing in his voice as he bent down to follow orders. "At this rate, the boss will appear. And once you defeat it, the portal will close for good. Are you really willing to risk losing this place?"

"It’s part of my plan. He must have noticed by now." Grey grinned beneath his hood, his blade gleaming faintly as he faced down a dozen more beasts.

’This is my chance to kill two birds with one stone. Draw Dame out here, and at the same time, collect enough beast cores so I can craft more pills.’ He smirked to himself as the pack of snarling creatures leaped toward him, their claws scraping against the rocky ground.

These were the same beasts that had attacked him the first time he entered this portal, so he already knew their movements and weaknesses. To him, they were little more than fodder.

He propelled himself backward with a gust of wind magic, narrowly avoiding the swipe of a beast’s talons. Without hesitation, he swung his sword in a wide arc and shouted...

"Wind Slash!"

A compressed blade of wind burst forth from the sword, tearing through the air with a shrill whistle before slicing three beasts clean in half. Blood sprayed across the battlefield, and before the corpses even hit the ground, Grey ducked low to avoid a heavy strike from above.

"Wind Thrust!" He called out, slamming his sword into the air. A deafening bang erupted as a sharp force shot from the blade, piercing straight through a beast’s skull and leaving a gaping hole in its head. The creature collapsed lifelessly with a dull thud.

Another wave of beasts lunged at him in unison, their movements wild and frenzied like feral dogs. Grey wasted no time. He shot into the air, spinning rapidly like a whirlwind gathering strength. His body twisted faster and faster until, with one final motion, he snapped into a roundhouse kick.

The air howled as a massive arc of wind exploded from his feet, roaring forward like a raging storm. It slammed into the charging beasts, cleaving them apart with the precision and force of a sword strike. Their bodies were shredded, scattering blood and fur across the battlefield.

Grey landed smoothly, one knee pressing into the ground. A wide smile crept onto his face as he surveyed the carnage. He had successfully slaughtered the entire pack in front of him with nothing but his sword and his wind magic.

’I can feel it. My wind magic is slowly growing stronger with every use. That’s good... but how long is that fool going to take to get here? I don’t want to be forced to summon the boss myself.’ His expression shifted into a faint frown as his eyes swept across the corpses. Nearly eighty beasts had already fallen, yet the presence he was waiting for still hadn’t revealed itself.

And all of this was still just basic wind magic.

"Aren’t you done yet?!" Thalos barked, his hands moving swiftly as he extracted beast cores one after another. Grey’s frown deepened at his words.

"I don’t think he’s noticed yet. Looks like I’ll have to summon the boss myself. Maybe then he’ll finally show up." Grey said calmly.

Thalos’ eyes went wide, his jaw dropping in shock. "You can’t be serious! Do you have any idea what you’re risking?!"

Before Grey could respond, a firm voice echoed across the battlefield.

"No need for that, I’m already here."

A slow smile spread across Grey’s face as his gaze lifted. From the distance, shadowed figures approached, their steps deliberate, and the aura rolling off them was one he had been waiting for.
