Xu An Lian didn't even glance at the woman who had been shoved aside, her tone sharp.
"You cut in line."
"And if you can't speak properly, spewing nothing but filth from your dog's mouth, I don't mind helping you!"
Xu An's eyes suddenly turned cold. As her gaze swept over the woman who had been cursing, the half-finished insult was swallowed back down her throat.
She didn't know where this seemingly gentle young girl got such imposing presence from.
In that instant, she felt as if her throat had been gripped, daring her not to curse further.
Seeing the growing crowd of onlookers, the woman seemed to find her backing and resorted to baseless accusations.
The woman supported her lower back and deliberately said.
"You little brat, you have such a wicked heart. I'm so old and my legs aren't good, what's wrong with you letting me go ahead? You actually pushed me, oh, my old waist, my waist is going to break."
"No, you have to give me an explanation today, or I'll call the police! You must compensate me!"
Xu An stood in line, calmly watching the other woman's tantrum, without saying a word.
This woman should be grateful it wasn't the apocalypse yet, otherwise, in the next second, Xu An would have made her shut up forever.
A commotion came from behind her.
A good-looking boy whispered, "Looks like it's not old people who have gone bad, but bad people who have grown old."
"Exactly, this person is taking advantage of their age!"
Xu An glanced back at the boy without speaking, but he gave her a friendly smile.
Hearing this, the woman realized that not only were the surrounding people not supporting her, but they were condemning her, and she became even more outrageous.
She even involved the people around her.
"You bunch of ill-bred people, were you born just to bully the elderly?"
"If you anger me to death, can you afford it!"
The people who had been whispering immediately fell silent upon hearing what sounded like the woman trying to extort money.
Seeing the stalemate, the cashier stepped in to mediate. She knew which auntie had cut the line.
But if the matter really dragged on, everyone would be stuck here.
The weather was hot, and people were already feeling irritable. If things escalated, no one could guarantee what would happen.
"Everyone, please stop arguing. It's a special situation, let's all take a step back. The weather is so hot, let's just finish checking out and go home."
"Auntie, you're older, I'll help you check out first."
Saying this, the cashier looked at Xu An with some apology.
Xu An nodded to indicate it was fine.
If it were any other time, Xu An wouldn't have compromised with this auntie who cut in line, even if it meant going to the police station.
But now was a special period, with the heatwave already erupting early. Who knew when the zombie horde would arrive.
Causing trouble with the police now was clearly not a rational choice.
Xu An turned back and gave the troublesome auntie a deep look, remembering her appearance.
Just because she couldn't deal with you now, doesn't mean she can't in the apocalypse.
The prerequisite, however, was that the other party had to survive until then.
It wasn't that she was heartless.
The apocalypse had too many unknowns. It was better to have one more dead person than to make an enemy for oneself.
If this auntie somehow survived the zombie outbreak and awakened powers, she could become a problem for Xu An.
After all, after powers awakened, there was an organization called "Sunset Glow," rumored to be composed entirely of elderly people who awakened powers, and their strength was not to be underestimated.
She hadn't considered following the woman and simply eliminating her.
But killing someone now was a bit troublesome.
It was better to wait for the apocalypse.
Lost in thought, it was finally her turn to check out.
The cashier looked at her with an apologetic expression.
"Miss, I'm so sorry, that auntie is a regular. I know her, she often causes trouble, and we're very troubled by her."
"You don't need to apologize, it's not your fault."
After saying that, she paid and left the supermarket.
As soon as she stepped outside, she saw the auntie standing triumphantly at the entrance, accompanied by a short, scruffy, and lecherous man.
The auntie stared at Xu An, then tilted her head and said something to the man, a wicked smile on her lips.
Xu An looked at the resentful gazes they cast at her and thought mockingly.
"You seek death when there's a path to heaven."
She hadn't intended to deal with this old woman so soon, but she hadn't expected her to rush to her own demise.
She ignored the footsteps following her, instead driving past the residential complex entrance, finding her small Hongguang, and driving towards a sparsely populated area.
She wasn't worried about them not following. Since that old woman was so vengeful that she'd find someone to deal with her just for a minor spat, she wouldn't let this opportunity pass now that she saw Xu An was alone.
As expected, Xu An had driven far from the city, and a pickup truck was following not too far behind.
Xu An surveyed the surroundings, feeling that there wouldn't be any more surveillance or people, and parked her car by a river.
This place was specifically chosen for these two.
A burial ground!
Seeing the young girl ahead stop her car, the woman eagerly said to her son, "Why did that little slut drive here? Son, you have to help your mother get revenge later!"
"Don't worry, Mom. We might be family in the future."
The man grinned, revealing a mouth full of yellow teeth, and looked at the car in front of him with a lecherous smile.
At first, he didn't want to bother when his mother said she was bullied at the supermarket. But when his mother pointed out the person, he saw that it was such a beautiful woman.
He immediately patted his chest and told his mother that he would definitely help her deal with this little slut.
A mother knows her son best, and the woman knew her son's thoughts.
But she didn't care. As long as she could make that little slut kneel and beg her, she didn't care if her son committed a crime.
That little slut, with her delicate skin, who knew if she could bear children. It was her fortune to marry her son.
The two stopped their cars with their own ulterior motives. The man said to his mother, "Mom, you stay in the car. Son will go handle things first. After it's done, you can go deal with that slut."
The wrinkles on the woman's face spread into a smile, and she agreed.
With that, the man got out of the car and walked towards Xu An.
When he reached the car, he realized there was no one inside.
The man was puzzled. He had been waiting, but how could this little slut have disappeared in the blink of an eye?
He searched around the car. As he walked to the other side, he heard a clear female voice.
"Are you looking for me?"
Before the man could recover from the clear female voice, he received a solid kick to his back.
The man cursed, lost his footing, and stumbled forward.
"Bitch! How dare you kick me?"
