On the twentieth day of the rain, the Phantom Team was still trapped in Xianning City while the members of the Eagle Team were still recovering.
As the sun rose on the eastern horizon, Xun Che stood at the top of the wall and observed the battle situation using military binoculars.
Looking through the binoculars, his heart sank when he saw the number of zombies did not show any sign of decreasing.
While they still had enough supplies and water to hold on for two more months, the morale of the guards and the ability-users was low after the prolonged battle and lack of sleep.
Lowering the binoculars, he turned to Wen Hanli and asked, "Have you contacted Jin Xuyan?"
Wen Hanli shook his head and replied, "We are still unable to contact the Phantom Team."
After a moment of pause, he said, "Commander, it has been ten days since we last contacted them. Do you think they are..."
Before he finished his words, Xun Che interrupted him, "I believe that they are fine. If even Jin Xuyan and his team are unable to survive this ordeal, then none of us can."
Just after he said this, they suddenly heard the piercing sound of birds screeching coming from the distance. Without even using binoculars, they could see the swarm of black birds flying toward their direction at a fast speed.
Seeing this, Xun Che said, "Fire-type ability-users, prepare for an attack!"
As soon as they heard his words, the ability-users who were resting quickly rushed toward the top of the wall. When they saw the sky was covered by the black birds, their faces turned pale instantly.
"What the hell is that?" one of them exclaimed in surprise.
"Be careful, it might be zombie animals!" the nearby ability-user reminded him.
In less than two minutes, the birds reached their location.

The sound of thousands of birds chirping caused them to feel dizzy and pain in their ears. While they were still trying to regain their senses, the birds attacked them.
"Argh!" one of the guards screamed as the bird pecked at his eyes.
As the bird flew away, the nearby guards noticed an eyeball on the bird’s beak. The next moment, the bird opened its beak and swallowed the eyeball. Seeing this, the guard raised his gun and shot the bird in panic.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Unlike the zombies, the bird was smaller, only half the size of a chicken. Added with their fast speed and agility, none of the shots hit the target.
When the guard saw several birds flying toward him, he raised his arms to block their attacks. While he was able to protect his eyes, the flesh on his arms was torn. Fresh blood seeped from his wounds and dropped to the ground.

A fireball flew toward the bird and killed a large group of it. As the birds fell to the ground, Rong Mo’er shouted, "Bring the wounded back to the infirmary!"

While they dealt with the birds, the zombies continued climbing the wall. Due to the number of zombie’ corpses below the wall, the zombie was getting closer and closer to the top of the wall.
Seeing this, Xun Che said, "Pour the oil and burn the corpse!"
Following his order, the soldiers quickly went to get gasoline from the tower. After they poured the oil, the nearby fire-type ability-user sent a fireball toward the zombies.

Covered in gasoline, the zombies were burned the moment they were hit by the fireball. The fire ignited easily and continued burning the corpses under the wall.
A similar situation happened on the other side of the wall. With the combined attack of the zombies and the mutant birds, the guards and ability-users were barely able to defend the wall.
Looking at the situation, Wang He used his communication device to contact Xun Che and said, "Commander, we have to evacuate the people on the fourth ring. We can’t hold on for long."

With his order, the guards started to evacuate the survivors on the fourth ring while the ability-users and the rest of the guards risked their lives to buy time for them.
At the same time, a small space crack appeared in the sky. With the thunder roaring and the lightning flashing, no one noticed the change at all.
As the crack widened, space-type ability-users felt a strong suction on their ability energy. Clutching their heads, they coughed up blood and screamed in pain. While the lower ability-users fainted from the pain, the higher-level ability-users stared at the sky.
"S-space distortion..." a level-three ability-user muttered in disbelief before he fainted from the pain.

The next moment, the space crack suddenly split open and turned into a portal. A capsule-like object flew through the portal and hit the ground with a loud sound, killing a large number of zombies instantly.
The space crack only lasted for half a second before disappearing, but the suction force created several massive tornadoes that killed the zombies and mutant birds. As the tornadoes moved, one of them moved toward the base.
Seeing this, Xun Che went out of the tower and stood at the edge of the wall. If the tornado hit their base, their wall would be destroyed without a doubt.
While he was still trying to find a solution, the capsule-like object suddenly let out a buzzing sound as one of the sides suddenly slid open.
A few seconds later, a pair of hands reached out from inside the capsule and held the smooth edge of the opening. With a push, a young woman leaped out and stood on top of the capsule.
Her long, high ponytail fluttered as the wind raged around her. She looked around and asked, "Krayan, where are we?"
