Chapter 666: Chapter 312 Lament_2
Watching the factory filled with over a hundred sinister figures and those red-skinned monsters obviously possessing stronger combat capabilities,
the Heavy Knight’s heart sank.
Should these monsters escape the factory and scatter into Giant City, countless tragedies would ensue.
Even if Border City’s residents are well-prepared for battle, with a large proportion of Scavengers amongst them, they would still be no match for these creatures!
They had Spiritual Barriers; ordinary bullets couldn’t even scratch them, which was far too deadly for the average person.
It was like the time when Li Yelai encountered Skin Stripping; despite using all available means, he was unable to defeat Skin Stripping.
The gap between common people and monsters was just too large.
They must all be dragged down in death within the factory!
The only consolation for the Heavy Knight was that this location was in the suburbs, a few kilometers away from the residential areas.
Watching the approaching horde of monsters, the Heavy Knight clenched his Heavy Hammers and spun like a top, throwing himself into the midst of the creatures.
Each time the melon-sized solid Heavy Hammers swung, they shattered monster bones, with several monster heads bursting open upon impact like fallen persimmons.
Soaked in blood, the Heavy Knight bellowed, “Hold them at all costs; they must not leave the factory!”
“Yes!” the warriors echoed in unison, and the bloody melee commenced.
…
A figure atop a building outside the factory chuckled lightly, “The Processor is one thing, but those police officers are quite brave, aren’t they? To clash with the lower ranks of War Servants with mortal bodies? Although War Servants aren’t the strongest, they’re still not something a mere mortal can contend with.”
“These brave warriors should be serving under the Blood God; such a pity… no one is guiding them properly,” Bai Ya commented, “Once Lord Di Yun’s work is complete, these warriors will all serve the Blood-colored Throne.”
Another believer spoke up, “Your Blood God Faction is quite generous, sacrificing an elite Five Senses Believer and so many Third Awakening Believers like that. And you even used a precious Chaos Demon carving.”
“For Lord Di Yun, any sacrifice is worth it,” Bai Ya replied coldly, “Besides, those devout believers have achieved their longing for slaughter. If they manage to kill a few Processors, they’ll all receive our master’s blessing.”
“They don’t know they’re cannon fodder?” the Eternal Life Sect believer asked in surprise.
“Of course not, we must ensure no flaws are exposed. After receiving the carving, they become consumed by the desire to kill. That way, they won’t raise any suspicion from the officials.”
“Aren’t you worried they might harm Lord Di Yun?”
“Absurd concern,” Bai Ya gave him a cold look, “What about you? What has your Eternal Life Faction prepared?”
“Eight Chaos Eggs imbued with deadly poison!” the Eternal Life Sect believer spoke, “Without deploying Captain Level reinforcements or several squads of Elite Night Patrol, it’s impossible to suppress such a combination.”
“Good, that’s enough,” Bai Ya nodded in approval, “With this, once Lord Di Yun arrives…”
At that moment, Bai Ya saw red fireworks suddenly explode in the distant sky.
It was the Night Patrol’s signal.
‘I have reached the battlefield!’
A nearby group of the Night Patrol responded to the distress call and immediately approached the battlefield.
Not only that, Bai Ya also noticed a convoy from the High Wall District rushing over, with the Border Iron Guard quickly closing in.
“The response is too quick.”
Bai Ya frowned; the Iron Guard’s speed was normal.
But it was surprising that a group of Night Patrol could arrive in just a few minutes.
Nevertheless, without any doubt, she continued to look down at the battlefield below and sneered, “But it’s not enough!”
…
Inside the factory, the battle was intense.
The slaughter between humans and monsters was both brutal and blood-drenched.
Police officers and the surviving workers used vehicles to form a defensive line, taking out Hot Melt Guns and Hot Melt Bombs from police cars, bombarding the monsters relentlessly.
Since Disaster Fog #71, Giant City’s had grown severely afraid of firepower shortage, equipping nearly all combat units with a surplus of ammunition and weapons.
But these monsters seemed not to know the meaning of fear; even with their bodies being blasted apart, they still charged forward. In close combat, they could massacre Human Warriors.
Had it not been for the Ranger squads stepping in to Block, the defense might have been breached.
However, even the Ranger squads were feeling tremendous pressure.
Three monsters of Five Senses Strength were too much for them to withstand.
Even with the support of an Elite Night Patrol squad, their defensive line was in jeopardy.
“Hold on! The alarm has been raised! Reinforcements will be here soon!” Heavy Knight smashed two more monsters, the thick blood staining her cheeks.
Her once delicate face was now muddled, but she continued to encourage her comrades.
Just as she said, a large number of task forces and the City Defense Army were en route to the scene.
Even members of outside Families, upon receiving official notification, were on their way.
The closest troop was estimated to arrive within ten minutes.
But when eight Chaos Eggs exuding a foul stench burst through the workshop walls,
even the steadfast Heavy Knight’s face paled.
Although the Chaos Eggs did not differentiate friend from foe, they were moving towards the defensive line. The stench carried some virulent virus, causing many Human Warriors to start vomiting, even coughing up blood.
The sight of desperation momentarily clouded the Heavy Knight’s eyes; then she grabbed her hammers and charged into the fiercest part of the battlefield.
…
On the battlefield, a muscular red-skinned brute wielding a Wolf Fang Club sent a Night Patrol flying with a swing.
