Chapter 1877: Driven to Desperation

Chapter 1877: Chapter 1877: Driven to Desperation

The Raven God was on the brink of insanity, unable to accept this outcome no matter what.

"How is this possible? Even if you, a mere ant, possess the spiritual power of a main god, how can you wield the power of a main god in battle?"

Li Yao chuckled softly, "You once claimed you could challenge the main gods. In reality, you were nothing but a joke in their eyes; no main god even bothered to pay you any attention. Do you really think you can challenge a main god? Besides, I wield the ancient god’s main god-level power; with a mere thought, I can have you at my mercy. Summoning this space was your greatest mistake."

Madness, humiliation, and unwillingness flickered in the Raven God’s eyes. After today, he was certain he would become the laughingstock of the gods, unable to show his face again.

And, as Li Yao had guessed, he wasn’t benevolent enough to protect such a foolish race as the Ogres without a plan in mind. His plotting was a critical piece of his path to godhood; otherwise, he wouldn’t have engaged in such a costly battle.

If this attempt failed, his millennia of planning wouldn’t just be destroyed but severely set back. Restoring the Ogres’ vitality might take countless years.

Such a setback would indefinitely delay his Divine Enthronement. How could he tolerate this?

"My dear daughter, is this the earnest battle you speak of? You’re just here for the show, aren’t you?" the Raven God glared fiercely at Aviana.

Only now did the crowd notice the more ethereal Darkness Touch floating not far above Li Yao’s head. Interwoven smoke formed a cage, with Aviana floating at the center, though reduced to a fraction of her size.

Helpless, Aviana said, "Heh, you yourself are powerless against him; your attacks leave him unscathed. How can I escape when I’m trapped? Without the means to break free, if you rescued me, I could join the battle, but I’m afraid the result would remain unchanged."

"You..." The Raven God almost lost his mind out of rage. How could he rescue her? After a minute of mad attacks, he was now utterly scarred and punctured all over, with his life force and flesh continuously devoured.

Meanwhile, the Darkness Touch not only hadn’t weakened but became even more formidable. The damage he inflicted was far less than what it absorbed.

"The moment you summoned this space, the outcome was sealed. Although I don’t know how this little guy can wield the power of a main god, the outcome can no longer change. Father, give up. If you continue, your soul will be damaged, and forget about Divine Enthronement; you won’t even be able to heal in ten thousand years," Aviana sighed.

"Shut up; this pertains to my Divine Enthronement. Were it not for your mother and you, I would have already succeeded," the Raven God fumed, nearing madness.

Aviana was filled with disappointment, "That was truly the last time I called you ’father.’ Do you know why Mother died so mysteriously? Because you constantly resented her for being more esteemed by the heavens with her dark and Corrosion Law gifts, her soul annihilated to make way for you. You could have become a god, but you were greedy; you didn’t want to be a lower god but aimed at becoming a main god after enthronement. Fine, you deemed me annoying. In the ancient war, when victory was certain, I paved the way for you, giving up my life to free up the Laws of Wind and Thunder. Otherwise, do you think anyone could kill me at my speed? Those dumb demons?"

"You’re lying; it’s laughable. You died in battle just as you were to enthrone, but glorified yourself regardless, hahaha..." The Raven God couldn’t admit to this, no matter what.

"I’m not saying this to change you; you’re beyond help. What I did was just returning the bloodline you gave me; we’re even. I’ve done my best this time. From now on, don’t call yourself my father; I don’t have a father like you." Aviana finished speaking, and her form suddenly dispersed.

Above Li Yao’s head, it was as if a miniature sun had exploded; Aviana had self-detonated, returning to her soul and leaving this space.

Still, a demigod’s self-destruction was no small matter; endless bursts of light shattered numerous Darkness Touch, but even more spread furiously.

The Raven God initially wanted to take this opportunity to attack, but seeing the mere flicker as Li Yao steadied himself, with Darkness Touch not only recovering but growing stronger by absorbing the released energy, he paused.

"You see, a demigod’s self-destruction only serves to fuel my power; I will grow stronger. Yet you call me an ant; truly laughable. The outcome is already determined. I’m a merciful person; if you admit defeat, have the Ogres abandon their main city and concede defeat, I’ll allow them to retreat carrying three days’ rations," Li Yao stated.

"You dream! In that case, I can only resort to extreme measures."

The Raven God’s eyes glimmered as space twisted.

Endless bolts of lightning erupted from the space, forming a massive net in the outer space.

Crackling!

The net descended upon the metal worm army, the arcs of electricity rampaging wildly.

In just an instant, tens of thousands of the Worm Tribe were obliterated.

Then came the second, third net — fourth, fifth, sixth...

Each rampage claimed at least tens of thousands of the Worm Tribe army.

The real space seemed to morph into a sea of lightning; whether watching the broadcast or on the battlefield, all people saw was a thunderous spectacle, altering the heavens and earth.

Lightning had no effect on Li Yao; they knew naught of its true power, but witnessing the thunderous battlefield, everyone was left astounded; it indeed equaled the power of a grand forbidden spell.

The Raven God accelerated to his utmost, darting through space, denying Li Yao any chance to strike.

"Alright, I admit you are unmatched, but so what? Even if you wield main god-level power, you can’t catch me. But I can slaughter your army. Don’t you have twenty million Worm Tribe? I’ll slay twenty million of them; let’s see how you fight," the Raven God’s voice brimmed with glee.

His quick thinking was praiseworthy; despite such a heavy blow, he could still conceive a counterattack strategy.

"Heh, I told you, here I am the main god. Compete with me in slaughter; truly naive. Look over at the Ogres and then speak."

While releasing lightning, the Raven God glanced at the Ogre army, his eyes flashing with horror.

He witnessed a massive number of Ogres wail in agony, from their noses and mouths grew grotesque tentacles.

Their bodies continuously swelled larger, their skin practically turning translucent, glowing green.

Simultaneously, the fallen bodies, both Worm Tribes and Ogres, seemingly transformed into insect nests, giving rise to vast swarms of Self-explosive Bugs.

These Self-explosive Bugs could ascend in mere seconds, gathering in the sky, blotting out the sun in no time.

In terror, the Raven God hastily severed the link between this space and the real space.
