Chapter 225: Tower Defense...Offense?
Selena didn’t understand how Kai could remain calm and carefree at this moment. "W-What do you mean? The sphere is capable of killing a Tier-10 Sorcerer! You shouldn’t take it lightly!"
"Okay, and let me ask you this. What is worrying about it going to do for me? Want me to be scared of its power? Want me to run away? You asked for my help, and now you’re upset because I don’t fear your greatest weapon?"
"N-No, that’s not what I mean."
"Then don’t worry about it. Gather your people, and let’s go attack the tower right now! Girls, you’re up! Show those bastards what real power is like!" Kai gave them a thumbs up.
"Hell yeah!" Amaya took off. She had no idea where the tower was, but she was sure she could spot a tall blue tower radiating a lot of magic power.
The others followed after her.
"I’ll go fight this Carlito guy. His name really pisses me off, and I feel an urge to rip his head off."
"Let me come with you." Abigail pulled at his shirt.
Kai gently removed her hand. He didn’t mind having a girl touch him, but the tugging at his shirt was pretty annoying. He had to readjust his shirt collar.
"I don’t mind. But what will you do, find your mom?" He asked. "Because you can’t fight against Carlito."
"Yes. I want to find my mother. Also, I can guide you to where the master floor is. You don’t know the layout of the tower, so you could get lost." She explained
"I just planned on punching my way through."
"What a brute," Selena muttered under her breath.
Kai looked in her direction, his eyes piercing her soul.
"S-Sorry."
"Okay, I’ll take you. Let’s go!" He wrapped his arm around her waist, touched her forehead, and then teleported to the tower by getting the location from her memory.
Selena cleared her throat and turned to everyone present. "Alright, everyone, gear up, we’re taking the tower back!"
---
"We’re under attack!"
"Sound the alarms!"
"The torrents are getting slaughtered!"
"Send the sorcerers!"
Over in the magic tower’s main office, where the tower master resides, Carlito was watching the battle from a window. He could see what was going on, and his anger nearly blew his head off.
He saw five women taking the lives of his sorcerers with ease. They were powerful, as powerful as himself and he had no idea where they came from or why they were attacking the tower.
"How is this possible?! They aren’t wearing the colors of the other towers, nor are they wearing the insignia of the royal military! Just who are these women? And how are they so strong?!"
Just then, someone entered the office.
"Sir! We’ve spotted the sorcerers who were in hiding coming this way! They’re planning on attacking us as well!" The man shouted.
"Dammit! Just when everything was going so well. Tell the others to prepare the sphere. We’ll wipe them all out this time."
"Yes, sir!" The man left to relay the message.
"I don’t know how that bitch managed to send word to her followers, but I’ll make sure she witnesses the death of the insignificant roaches who still swore loyalty to her." Just as Carlito was about to leave, he bumped into something hard.
"Hey, watch where you’re going!"
Mana surged through Carlito’s body as he stood back up and approached the brick wall of a man he ran into.
"How dare you speak to me this way?! Do you with to die?!" But then, he noticed that he didn’t recognize the man in front of him.
"Who are you? How did you get in here?!"
"I brought him here." Abigail walked from behind Kai, her anger apparent and her mana pulsing with fury.
"Heh, the bitch’s spawn, Abigail. Did you come here to rescue your mother?" Carlito showed a projection of Abigail’s mother chained up in the tower dungeon, beaten, bloodied, and powerless.
"Mother!"
’Holy! She’s hot!’ Kai nearly drooled on himself
"If you don’t wish to end up like her, stand aside." Carlito damnded.
"Do you have a letter for that demand?" Kai asked, stepping forward.
"What nonsense are you spewing? Get out of my face before I make you." Carlito’s mana exploded.
"Is that a threat?" Kai’s mana surged as well. He kept it at the tier-10 level because he didn’t want to win simply by aura farming.
’W-What?! This man is a tier-10 sorcerer as well?! What is this? A tier-10 sorcerer bargain sale?!’
"Abigail, go find your mother. I’ll handle this clown."
"Yes." She ran out of the room.
"Where are you going?!" Snakes in the form of mana blasted out of Carlito’s hand as he attempted to stop Abigail from finding her mother, but before they could latch onto her, Kai had grabbed them, stopping the attack from reaching her.
"My, this is very awkward. I’m sure I said that I’ll handle you. Yet you attack another person as if I’m not here? Do you know how disrespectful that is?!"
Carlito couldn’t even react to Kai grabbing his face and throwing him out of the window. "Garghh!" When he looked up, Kai was already coming his way to attack him once more.
"Don’t underestimate me!" Green misty skills formed around his back and flew toward Kai. These were poisonous soul eaters. They poison the body and eat the soul, a form of dark magic.
"Die!"
"I’m immortal!" The skulls shattered after Kai punched them away with his strength. He was immune to poison and soul attacks, so they would have done nothing to him even if he let them attack his body.
"I-Impossible!"
A maniacal grin stretched across his face. "Clench your teeth!" Kai shouted
"Dammit!" Carlito crossed his arms, and a strong barrier surrounded his body.
"You’ll never be able to break through-"
"Shut the fuck up!" Kai shattered the barrier, clobering Carlito in the face, knocking him into the ground, which made a huge crater.
