Chapter 209: Where can I buy a ship?
"ASHENFALL!" Kai shouted at the top of his lungs while on his knees. He was so excited to continue their adventure and was tired of all the detours they took after he beat the demon king.
He thought it was unfortunate that he couldn’t do everything he wanted to do since the demon king arrived earlier than he expected, but it didn’t matter to him. All he wanted now was to set off and have some fun.
Besides, he could do the other things he wanted on the other continent.
"Guys, we need to find a ship!" He jumped back onto his feet and looked around until he found the docks.
"Why do we need a ship?" Nadya asked.
"You don’t remember? We’re traveling to another continent! The continents aren’t connected by land, so we need to travel by water! Follow me!" He ran toward the docks and located a person packing crates onto a ship.
"Hello, my good sir! May I take up your time with a question?" Kai flicked the man a gold coin.
The man examined the coin to see if it was legit with a shocked expression. After confirming that it was, he pocketed the coin and put on a smile.
"How may I help you kids?"
"We’re looking to buy a boat. Like a big ship. One that can hold many passengers. And that can travel international waters." Kai explained
"International waters?" The man was confused and didn’t know what that meant.
"You know, the water between continents."
"Oh! You mean open ocean? Haha, yeah, good luck with that, kid. No shipmaker around can forge a ship strong enough to travel in the open ocean, not even the best spellcasters, runesmiths, blacksmiths, and shipsmiths."
Kai was thrown off. Even back in the day, in his old world, people were able to traverse the world with the ships they crafted. Sure, it wasn’t nearly as good as modern ships, but it was still good enough.
"What do you mean? How come ships can’t travel in the open ocean?"
"Well, there are a few reasons. The first reason is the barrier of the gods. There is a barrier that surrounds the continent, extending into the ocean by a good twenty miles. This barrier prevents people from leaving or entering the continent."
Kai’s face morphed into disgust. "So you’re trapped here."
"Ohh, no. Trust me, kid, you’d be thankful for that barrier. The open ocean is filled with all sorts of threats. Creatures that could tear ships apart, lure men overboard, and storms that rock the waters. Being out there is a nightmare, according to the legends. But that’s not all. The open ocean is a massive mana-neutral zone. So, you won’t even be able to use your power out there."
"Okay, I get that, but since you know of these stories, that means that people have traversed the oceans before." Kai was sure there was a way to travel to the nearest continent.
"Sure, thousands of years ago, before the barrier of the gods existed. People used to travel between continents all the time. Granted, barely anyone survived, but those who did told their tale. But this also led to war and other conflicts between the continents, so it was closed off permanently. Also, take this with a grain of salt because the last time anyone traveled between continents was before the first hero."
"So all of this information is thousands of years old." Kai sighed.
"Yup. We sailors use them to scare our fresh meat, ha, boy, do they shit themselves when we tell them about the kraken. The beast is a fairy tale, but they still get scared."
"Alright, thanks for your time." Kai tossed the man another gold coin and left the port.
"So what now? You heard him. We can’t travel between continents. Hell, they might not even exist." Gwen was all for adventure, but after hearing what the man said, she didn’t care too much for it, but she still wanted to at least see what was out there.
"No, they exist. Gracia told me." Kai perked up. "Gracia! That’s it! She’ll have all the answers I need!"
"Ha, why don’t you ask your ’godly dad’ to give you a ship as well?" Kyana teased
"Holy shit! Kyana, you’re a genius!" He grabbed her cheeks and kissed her on the lips.
"W-What? I am?"
"Hahaha! Of course you are!"
’My fucking status window! I also haven’t checked the points I got from killing Malgus.’

"ONE HUNDRED MILLION POINTS?!"
Kai instantly searched his shop to see if he could find a ship he could purchase to travel between continents. He quickly stumbled across many ships, each of them having its own special traits.
’Hmmm, can I customize the traits I want them to have?’ As he thought about that, a ’customize’ button appeared.
’Sweet.’ He first put all of the features of his carriage on his ship, such as magic, weapons, protection spells, flight, and so on. He also added features such as a clean and auto plug to automatically clean the ship and plug holes if the hull was breached.
He continued to customize his ship to his liking, making sure it was the best it could possibly be and until he thought of everything he could. His total came up to 10 million points.
"Thankfully, I have all these points; otherwise, I would have had to improvise." Kai made his ship look like a massive battleship made out of wood and metal, but its durability was way higher than that of ordinary wood and metal.
It had cabins to sleep in, a kitchen, a bath, a spa, a sauna, a play area, and a lot more, including stations for battle. It was literally a water home with weapons that could fly. Heck, it even had a barrier that would cover the entire ship to block out rain and any other foreign objects.
"Now that I’ve got the ship taken care of, I’ve got to speak with Gracia. Hey, Gracia! I gotta talk to you real quick. Send me up there."
Sasha thought that Kai looked like an idiot shouting the goddess’s name like that, expecting her to answer. "Kai, do you really think that she will..."
Kai was taken away by a beam of divine energy.
"...Answer you...What the fuck?!"
