Chapter 234: The Church of Aquaphina

It was no surprise that everyone would be shocked by the outcome of the little duel between Kai and Galen. Since Kai was said to be a tier-10 corcerer, they expected Galen to lose, but for him to lose in one hit before he could even understand what happened to him was insane.

Aleah cursed in her head, knowing that she now had no chance of getting the blue tower under her control. In her eyes, she just wasted a good phoenix egg for no reason. But at least that was all she lost, unlike Galen.

Tharn, too, was glad that he wasn’t the one who stepped up to make demands. Sure, he was upset that he couldn’t get his hands on Kai or his girls, but that was far better than being humiliated in front of a lot of the kingdom’s nobles.

Galen’s reputation, as well as the reputation of the White Magic Tower, will definitely take a hit after this. At least it won’t be as big as it would have been since Kai was stronger than him. If Kai were weaker, then that would have been horrible for Galen.

Elyn clapped her hands, getting everyone’s attention. "Okay, not that little annoyance is out of the way, why don’t you all continue to have fun and enjoy the banquet? I’ll bring out the dessert." She clapped her hands again, and the servants left to grab the desserts.

For the next hour, people continued to have fun, wind down, and enjoy the party Elyn had thrown. The food here was among the best they had ever tasted in their life, and the drinks were even better. Even the juice for the kids was great, and adults were drinking that more than they expected.

They bombarded Elyn with questions, asking how she created these amazing foods and drinks, wanting to buy the recipe from her.

"If you’re interested in these amazing consumables, then you should talk with the person who made them, Kai." She smiled, holding her hand out to Kai.

’You bitch! I told you that I don’t want to be bothered tonight!’

Elyn, knowing that he was saying in his mind, couldn’t help but giggle as a flock of nobles swarmed around him.

Kai answered as many questions as he could before he got annoyed. He knew what Elyn was doing, and he commended her for her amazing tactics. So, he went along with Elyn’s master plan, one that he wasn’t informed of, keep in mind.

"If you wish to get your hands on everything that was served at this banquet and more food and drinks that you haven’t tried yet, then you’ll need to do business with the Blue Tower. We’re opening a restaurant under our name, and we will be serving this food there. However, since you’re nobles, this means you all will have access to the latest and greatest food before it hits the market. So, at the end of this banquet, talk to Master Elyn to draw up a contract." He announced for everyone to hear.

All of the nobles got excited and ran back to the party to enjoy themselves again.

Then another swarm of people came because they loved the cosmetics. Again, Kai had to propose a business to get them off his back.

"You’re a real snake, you know that." He sighed, sitting down next to Elyn.

"Fufu, what? I don’t know what you mean. Are you accusing me of something, dear?" She rubbed her hand against his arm.

"You know what, it’s fine. You win. It’s not a problem for me anyway."

’Besides, I’ll be getting a cutout of this, and the money I make here can go toward my children. Always got to think about them.’ He smiled.

"W-What’s going on?"

"Were they invited?"

"My god, even the saintess came?"

"Show your respects."

Kai and Elyn squinted their eyes to see what all the commotion was about. They were left confused when the crowd of nobles split into two, bowing their heads and making way for a group of people who looked super important.

"Oh my gosh! What are they doing here?" Elyn asked, rushing out of her seat.

Kai raised an eyebrow. "Who are they?"

"W-What? You don’t...argh, it doesn’t matter. Come, show your respects!" Elyn rushed from her seat to bow and welcome her new guests.

"Welcome, Saintess and messengers of the Goddess. I was not expecting your arrival. Please, allow me to give you one of my best tables and serve you some food. You must be tired from your travels."

"Oh no, you do not need to bow your head, Master Elyn. It is we who came here uninvited. We are the ones disrespecting you right now." The saintess spoke, her voice laced with kindness and respect.

"Nonsense. You’re presence is never unwelcome, invited or not. Please, let me serve you." She offered once more.

"Fufu, then it will be rude of me to decline. But first, may I handle the business I came here for?" The saintess asked politely.

"By all means. Please do what you need to do." Elyn nodded.

"Psst, Kai, they seem to be the church of this continent," Amaya whispered in his head.

"Yeah, no shit. They literally called that woman in the middle ’Saintess’. The real question is, why is she here?"

"Carlito, right?" Kyana guessed.

"Right! He used that dark magic bs, and so they’re probably here to cleanse it."

"Then why are they coming to us?" Sasha wondered, nodding her head forward.

"What? I-Is she...looking at me?" Kai was certain that the saintess was looking at me, and for some odd reason, she had a smile on her face. Not a smile of politeness or kindness, but the type of smile you get when you finally are able to purchase the console you’ve been saving up for.

"You think she’s onto us?" Gwen remembered how the church of Gracia was actively trying their best to find Kai, and she wondered if this was like that as well.

He shook his head. "No, there’s no way they know about me. I haven’t even used Gracia’s divine power."

Nadya was also thinking about how the church here would know that Kai was here, then it clicked. "Maybe their goddess told them about you."

"Shit! Why didn’t I think about that?!"

And at that same time, the Saintess, alongside a nun, a paladin, a holy knight, and a priest, stood in front of Kai, then got on their hands and knees to bow.

"What the hell?"

"A-Are they bowing to him?"

"I-Is he related to the church somehow?"

Everyone’s minds started racing. Even Elyn was at a loss for words. Not only was Kai a Tier-10 sorcerer, but he also had ties to the church? That was crazy to think about. But the business that the church could give the blue tower did not escape Elyn’s mind.

"We greet you, Hero Kai LuForia, from the Continent of Sarkylla, servant of the Goddess Gracia."
