Chapter 360: Chapter 360: Party Accident
Summer Sutton’s body stiffened, her spine straight as a rod.
Adrian Walyon seemed a bit restless tonight, tossing and turning several times, seemingly unable to sleep.
Summer Sutton thought she knew what he might want to do, but after waiting quietly for a while, there was no action from Adrian Walyon behind her.
Considering Adrian’s usual personality, if he wanted something done, he would have that her tossed and turned a thousand times by now.
Even though his hand was inconvenient right now, couldn’t he still let her do it?
However, Adrian Walyon turned several times but did nothing.
Summer Sutton thought she was overthinking, didn’t bother, and closed her eyes to continue her sleep.
This time, she truly fell asleep.
Behind her, Adrian Walyon was wide awake, restless the entire night, while she still slept soundly.
The next day when she woke up, Summer Sutton was exceptionally refreshed.
Adrian Walyon’s face was full of resentment, as if Summer Sutton owed him a fortune.
Summer Sutton stared at him blankly, not understanding what she had done to offend him last night.
Adrian Walyon said nothing, just gave her a chilly glance and went to the bathroom irritably.
...
Recently, Adrian Walyon seemed particularly mindful of the injury on his hand.
From time to time, Summer Sutton would catch him moving his wrist, staring blankly at his hand wrapped in gauze.
When changing his dressing and during the doctor’s examination, he was much more cooperative than before.
Summer Sutton had always known how important his hand was to Adrian Walyon; given his behavior these days, she understood he must be hoping for a quick recovery to resume work.
Summer Sutton didn’t think much of it, and after accompanying Adrian to the company for two days, on the third day, she went to work at Ariella Sawyer’s studio.
Adrian Walyon would come to the studio to keep her company, watch her work when he finished work early.
Today, Ariella Sawyer’s studio happened to hold a celebration party to mark one of Ariella’s films making over one hundred million at the box office.
A hundred million is already excellent data for an artist who has just debuted not long ago.
The party was held at the studio, and to make the atmosphere lively, the staff bought a lot of decorative balloons and fairy lights.
As a member of the studio, Summer Sutton was busy decorating the venue as soon as Adrian arrived.
She was busy counting the food for the party, then climbed high on a stepladder to hang the lights.
Adrian Walyon glancing sideways at her, seeing how high she was above the ground, couldn’t help frowning.
"Be careful!" he reminded her, intending to go over to help, but as soon as he took a step, Summer Sutton standing on the stepladder wobbled, off balance.
"Summer, be careful!" Someone nearby warned.
As the words fell, Summer Sutton’s body fell straight towards the floor.
"Oh my God!" The crowd exclaimed in surprise.
Several staff rushed forward to save her, but a figure was faster, lunging towards Summer Sutton.
He caught her solidly as she fell, the two of them crashing heavily to the ground together.
"Boom!"
The ground made a loud noise.
Summer Sutton’s hand groped around and touched the arm of the person beneath her, feeling the familiar warmth, her heart instantly sank halfway.
Her gaze stiffly turned; she looked incredulously at the man beneath her.
Adrian Walyon’s hand was still pinned under her, he seemed rather uncomfortable, his brows tightly knitted, face pale, sweat streaming down his forehead.
Summer Sutton was startled by his appearance, frantically climbing up from the ground.
