Chapter 350: Chapter 350: My Card, Swipe to Your Heart’s Content
Adrian Walyon didn’t even have a change of clothes.
The outfit he wore when he arrived was already dirty, so Summer Sutton helped him borrow a set from the crew members.
However, he was too tall, and the clothes of an average man were too short for him.
What were originally long pants turned into capris on him.
The borrowed clothes looked completely out of place on him.
Summer Sutton watched him like this for a long while, feeling uncomfortable.
The meals on the mountain were simple, just some rustic dishes. The villagers cooked a large pot of food, and everyone gathered around the table to eat.
Summer Sutton was quite worried that Adrian Walyon, who was used to a life of luxury, wouldn’t adapt, so she kept watching him during the meal.
Unexpectedly, Adrian quietly ate his food from beginning to end, without showing any sign of displeasure.
Seeing him like this, Summer Sutton felt a little relieved.
Sitting next to him, she helped him pick up some food, "Eat more. If the rain stops tomorrow, let’s go back."
"Hmm." Adrian replied to her lightly.
The couple sat together, and during the meal, Adrian spoke very little, leaving most of the conversation to Summer Sutton.
But you could tell from his face how much he indulged her.
He had come all the way here to such a place, facing harsh conditions, just to be with her. Who, if not someone who doted on her with his life, would do that?
To the outside world, Adrian Walyon was always a legendary figure, indifferent and cold, with no warmth in his blood.
However, through this encounter, people realized that he too had someone he cherished dearly...
...
After dinner, when it wasn’t dark yet, Summer Sutton went alone to the village stream to wash Adrian’s dirty clothes.
On the mountain after the rain, the leaves appeared freshly green, saturated with water, as if they might fall under their own weight at any moment.
The mountain scenery was uniquely beautiful.
Adrian found Summer Sutton at the stream, and quietly watched her back for a while, suddenly appreciating this current feeling.
Living their days together in a quiet place, free from the world’s disturbances.
...
At night, Summer was originally sharing a room with Ariella Sawyer.
After Adrian came, Ariella sensibly squeezed in with other staff members, leaving the room for the couple.
The room in the small mountain village was made of earth, and the bed was old and narrow.
Adrian didn’t mind, sprawling boldly onto the bed and pulling Summer Sutton into his arms.
"Did you use the card I gave you last time?"
"No," Summer Sutton shook her head.
"Why not use it when someone gave it to you?" Adrian frowned slightly.
"Aren’t I saving money for you?" Summer Sutton was actually thinking that she should earn it herself rather than rely on others, but she spoke in a way that sounded considerate.
"Does the Walyon Family need you to save money?" Adrian gave her a look, "When we go back, use it however you like! Max out the card, and if it’s not enough, get more from me. Don’t work so hard just for a few thousand dollars!"
"Got it, got it! I’ll start using it when we get back, and I’ll have imperial banquets for every work meal," Summer Sutton responded obediently.
Adrian’s lips twitched slightly and decided to let this issue rest for now.
Staring at the ceiling above the bed for quite some time, thinking about this incident, he suddenly blurted out, "When we get back, first switch to a new phone."
At the very least, make sure the signal is better so he won’t face the issue of being unable to contact her at critical moments like last night.
"Okay." Summer Sutton knew he was only concerned about her, so she nodded lightly.
