Chapter 257: Chapter 257: You’re the Most Shameless
"Why can’t we?" Summer Sutton lifted her face, listing his offenses one by one.
"Since we got married, every time you wear me out so much, only stopping when I really can’t hold on anymore, nearly at dawn."
"How many nights since we got married have I had a full night’s sleep? We always sleep so late, staying up long-term. How can my period be regular?"
She rattled off a bunch of complaints that actually seemed pretty reasonable?
Adrian Walyon was momentarily at a loss for words, staring at her oddly for a while, not arguing but simply tossing out, "Start earlier, finish earlier."
Slowly, he started the car.
Summer Sutton sat stiffly beside him, her face looking a bit unpleasant.
After today’s results, shouldn’t he tone it down?
Start earlier, finish earlier?
She’d never seen anyone so shameless!
Summer Sutton was full of complaints about Adrian Walyon, but the fact that the check-up showed she wasn’t pregnant relieved her quite a bit.
On the way back, Adrian Walyon could noticeably see her feeling lighter.
When entering the Walyon Family mansion, she even smiled and greeted the servants.
Seeing her like this made Adrian Walyon’s face a bit sour.
His expression was tight the whole way into the house.
The Old Master seemed to be specifically waiting for them, and it was clear the elderly man was full of expectations for a great-grandchild.
Upon seeing Adrian Walyon walk in, he stood up, eagerly asking, "Well? What’s the result?"
"Nothing to worry about. Summer and I will keep trying," Adrian said as he headed upstairs.
Summer Sutton feared the Old Master would emphasize the need for children, so she hurriedly followed Adrian upstairs.
Adrian’s face was still not looking good, remaining cold after entering the room.
Summer Sutton lifted her face to glance at him, feeling particularly cheerful, "It’s really no big deal, right? We’ve only been married a short while!"
"Do you want one after we’re married longer?" Adrian casually tossed his jacket aside and questioned her.
Summer Sutton was stumped.
How could she possibly want one?
Without loving Adrian Walyon first, she might never want children.
Feeling a bit awkward, Summer Sutton naturally went over to him, picked up his jacket to hang it up, and quickly changed the subject, "By the way, tomorrow is Zoe Baxter’s birthday. Will you come with me?"
Adrian Walyon knew she was avoiding the topic, casting a cool glance her way without pushing her on the matter.
They’d indeed not been married long.
Actually, Adrian could understand if Summer Sutton didn’t want children.
Regarding Zoe Baxter’s birthday, Adrian, being a grown man, wouldn’t typically attend such an event.
However, since Summer Sutton had invited him, he agreed.
His sole purpose in attending was to keep an eye on Summer Sutton’s drinking.
Afraid she’d end up drinking too much, like when she previously went to the karaoke bar with Ariella Sawyer and acted wild.
...
Zoe Baxter’s family background was upper-middle class, not exceedingly prominent, but also not lacking.
At her birthday party, Zoe invited many classmates and friends.
Adrian felt his presence was justified upon arrival.
The reason was there were a lot of men around, with nearly equal numbers of men and women.
With so many men present, if he weren’t by her side, considering Summer Sutton’s looks, who knows how many men would approach her tonight.
When Summer Sutton arrived, she stayed chatting with Zoe Baxter and Iris Watson.
The three girls chatted and laughed, keeping the atmosphere lively.
Now and then they’d run to the center of the dance floor to dance a bit.
