Chapter 444: Omega off the leash

Chapter 444: Omega off the leash

Andrew and Maxwell did a rather good job at keeping everything together until they got home later that night. After that, Maxwell basically crawled into Andrew’s skin, demanding comfort and crying some more.

Andrew took it the next step, setting up a laptop with a bottle of wine in the chosen closet that Maxwell had made into his nest. Andrew didn’t mind that his shirts and clothes ended up in there, and it also seemed to calm Maxwell down to be surrounded by his smell.

Andrew also made sure to release plenty of pheromones for his shaken omega, and cuddled him mercilessly. Andrew would be the first to admit that he was benefitting significantly from this deal. It was soooo terrible that Maxwell turned to him when he needed comfort. He was just shriveling up.

Maxwell fell asleep in Andrew’s arms, wrapped up in Andrew’s favourite sweater, no pants, and no socks. Andrew carried the man to their bed, only stepping away for a second to turn off the lights, checking that all the doors were locked before crawling back into bed with an asleep, but pouting Maxwell.

Andrew was just glad that they were able to have a moment like this, and all of the unpleasantness from the day was completely forgotten.

~

It was the next day that Andrew saw any repercussions from his actions. Or, any attempted repercussions.

Kim was informed that she was to cut all ties with Andrew. She had then proceeded to laugh in her family’s face, telling them that her loyalty was towards those who stood up for not just her, but her family. She then reminded them that without Andrew, she would be unemployed, and they would not be benefitting at all from his money.

At the end of the day, Andrew had chosen to sell most of his shares to Kim. If he hadn’t, the company would have still been majority owned by Andrew and his dead Mom. Kim would not have control over the company, the Proctor family wouldn’t be tied to one of the most profitable businesses in the city, and Kim was more than happy to pull the plug on her connection to them if they didn’t smarten up.

Kim spoke to Andrew in between her blow up at them over their sheer audacity and learned how they had treated Andrew. She went nuclear after that.

Jenny was actually the worst in the whole situation. Andrew hadn’t seen it, and almost wished that he had. Apparently, when she heard what they had attempted to do to Andrew, she had gone deathly quiet, had grabbed her bag, and had left work.

Kim had feared for someone’s life, and she was right to be worried.

While Kim was plotting ways to get back to them in business world terms, Jenny was tired of playing around. She didn’t take any weapons, but she stormed the Proctor family house. She apparently got into several altercations with many of the family members. They had attempted to overpower her, but because her mate was a much stronger true alpha than the rest of the family, (another reason why they couldn’t actually follow through on any threats that came to cutting Kim off) she was about to withstand most of their attacks.

When she couldn’t? She simply sprayed herself with a perfume that Kim had made her to mimic her pheromones, and then continued on. She wasn’t raving. She wasn’t behaving like a pissed off lunatic.

She was methodical.

When she got to Kim’s Mom? A woman who was supposed to protect not only Kim, her daughter, but also her granddaughter, her grandson and Andrew, apparently it was like a wrecking ball through a brick wall.

Catastrophic and loud.

Jenny was a middle aged omega. No one expected her to be a viper in sheep’s clothing. They knew that she didn’t agree with the family, hell, anyone knew that. They just thought that they could get away with pushing her to her limits.

Jenny had had enough.

She had babysat Andrew as a child, had answered his questions about his family with kindness when she had wanted to tell them the truth. She had wiped tears from her own daughter’s face when she’d come back home from visits to a family that was supposed to love her. He had comforted her son when he stopped getting invites to the family home when it was becoming clear what he would manifest as, before he even had.

Andrew’s treatment was the last fucking straw.

Jenny didn’t care if she got arrested. She was done with accepting their bullshit behaviour, and she was done with them treating her like a second class citizen. She was also fairly certain that the charges would be dropped because what true alpha would admit that an omega had beat the shit out of them?

Not only beat the shit out of them, but with their own hands, their own household items, with everyone watching?

People had tried to stop Jenny, but they had been unable to. Pure, unadulterated rage had burned through her veins, and she was far fitter than anyone would have ever been able to guess. Like she had been planning for this day.

Like she had always known it was going to result in this. An all out brawl.

The police had been called, obviously, but Jenny pulled a full 180 on them. She was sweet, demure, everything that they expected of an omega. And she also revealed the heat room where in heat omegas were kept.

Something that was illegal, and normally, something that the police turned a blind eye to. Until Jenny revealed she had a fucking body camera on her the whole time. Showing off her actions, and also showing off that she had gone into the in heat room, seen the omegas, and all of the fucking evidence in there.

Jenny went off the deep end, and she played so fucking dirty. Kim was shocked when she got the phone call, but Andrew? He was shocked, but not surprised, if that made sense.

Kim grew up in the family, and while she had mostly escaped, she still played by their rules. Jenny? She didn’t come from the same kind of family. If Andrew remembered correctly, Jenny came from a middle class family. They were always around, welcomed to events, and the kids loved their grandparents from that side of the family.

He was sure that Jenny’s family would never condone her actions, but they must have known how she and the whole family had been treated all because Kim wouldn’t bend to their will. Jenny had simply snapped when they had tried to treat Andrew the same way, and he had just walked away.

Kim had seen some of the body cam footage, and while she would admit it was haunting and disturbing for obvious reasons, there was one part where Jenny was beating Kim’s Mom and she was asking her, over and over, if she had ever put Alyssa in that room. Over and over she asked Alyssa’s grandmother if she had put the teenager in the room.

Jenny only relented when she had admitted that she had done it once. To help her manifest. Jenny had knocked her fucking lights out after that.

Andrew knew he shouldn’t condone violence. Really. He knew that he shouldn’t.

But the Proctors had it coming. When the news broke? It seemed that even the general public believed the same thing. Andrew hadn’t realised it, but ever since his interview, the strong foundations that most true alpha families reputation had been standing on was degrading. This latest scandal?

That the wife of a main family member had gone to the Proctor mansion and beat the shit out of the next head of the family over allegations of them running an omega heat jail and that they had abused a teen? The public ate it up, and Andrew learned that it was the same reporters that Kim had hired to break his news that were in charge of this story.

They were trying to garner as much support as they could.

When Jenny was caught on camera, battered, bruised, but calm, and collected? Every Mother out there was on her side. The public saw her only as a woman defending her child. A woman who was exposing the underbelly of the true alpha world.

An omega who was sick and tired of the way she was being treated.

There were others who disagreed with how she did it. That was an easy thing to say, but it was clear that while it was methodical, it wasn’t fully planned. Kim was hiring the best lawyers that they could afford, and Andrew wasn’t going to let her do that on her own. He tried to pitch in, but it was Thomas who truly stepped in.

Andrew didn’t ask questions, nor did Kim when a certain type of lawyer showed up, and shortly after, all charges were dropped and the Proctors were paying them money to keep this out of the tabloids.

Maxwell had said that they had cut all ties with the mob. Andrew believed him. These guys were probably on Thomas’ payroll, so not technically part of the mob anymore.

Either way, it meant that Jenny got in very little trouble for what she did, while the Proctors suffered a massive blow to their image and their reputation. Andrew didn’t think this was how they would suffer, but it sent a clear message.

If a family as old as the Proctors could suffer this kind of embarrassment, other families weren’t safe either.

Andrew kind of liked how much fear that struck into the hearts of the other true alpha families. They had lived free of fear for too damn long. Andrew made sure to drop by Jenny’s house with lots of baked goods, and made sure he was caught by several cameras. He wanted it known that he was tied to this family.

He even winked at one of the cameras. They wouldn’t know that he was deeply attached to this issue, and that was fine. The wink wasn’t meant for the general public. It was meant for the Proctors, and the Abrahams. Watch your back.
