Chapter 344 - 343: The Sudden Kiss

Chapter 344: Chapter 343: The Sudden Kiss

There are many types of mushrooms, Lin Wan doesn’t recognize many, almost all Han Yi told him about which ones are edible and what variety they are.

Lin Wan’s bag of mushrooms was quite mixed, including hazelnut mushrooms, leg mushrooms, egg yolk mushrooms, pine mushrooms, broom mushrooms, and more.

The two of them took a round in the forest, collecting quite a few wild fruits, most of which were not tasty, Lin Wan took two bites and just threw them away.

When the time was about right, they went back to the place where they rested at noon. On the way, Lin Wan found a wild rose bush. There were red ones and pink ones. Lin Wan dug them out with soil, intending to plant them in the yard when they return.

Han Yi said he would make beggar’s chicken for her. They started a fire and boiled a pot of water, scalding the chicken feathers. Originally, Lin Wan wanted to handle the chicken. But somehow, when she smelled the raw scent, Lin Wan felt a bit nauseous.

She could only watch from afar as Han Yi cleaned the chicken.

Lin Wan didn’t dare stay idle, so she got up and gathered branches nearby, planning to stay overnight here. It would be best if the fire could last all night.

Han Yi was quite skilled at making beggar’s chicken, chopping up the shiitake into small pieces, then putting soy sauce, vinegar, and seasonings into the chicken’s belly, rubbing it with salt to add flavor. He wrapped the chicken in two large lotus leaves, then smeared yellow mud on the outside. He dug a shallow pit under the firewood pile, placed the chicken in it, covered it, and then lit the fire.

Lin Wan then took a pot of water and put a few eggs in it, placing it on the fire.

About half an hour later, Han Yi moved the fire aside, waiting ten minutes before digging out the chicken.

"Try it," Han Yi gave Lin Wan a hot drumstick. Lin Wan took a bite, "Hmm, it tastes great."

"I’m best at this; when out on missions in the wilderness, it’s very normal, often without food, you have to find a way yourself. Besides this, I can also make a mud stove... Anyway, if we fall on hard times in the future, I’ll take you to live on the mountain and manage to survive."

"No matter where you go, I’ll follow you," Lin Wan said without minding her greasy mouth and turned around to stamp an oily mark on Han Yi’s face.

Han Yi didn’t mind at all; the next second he cupped her nape and gave her a deep, long kiss.

Lin Wan’s face blushed red from his kiss. She pushed him away and sat to the side, obediently eating the roasted chicken.

After finishing a drumstick, she casually tossed it far away.

Lin Wan vaguely heard a muffled sound.

"Hey, Han Yi, did you hear something?"

"No, do you want more?" Han Yi said with a smile, not taking it seriously.

"No more, I want to eat eggs."

Han Yi found two grass sticks and fished out two eggs from the pot for her. He placed them aside to cool for a while.

"Will there be any wild beasts coming here tonight while we’re staying here?" It was getting dark gradually. Lin Wan was a bit afraid.

"No, wild boars generally won’t come."

"Are you sleepy? If you’re sleepy, we’ll sleep in a bit." Han Yi finished eating the whole remaining chicken, tossing all the chicken bones to the place where Lin Wan just threw them.

After throwing, he shot a meaningful smirk towards that side.

While Lin Wan was eating eggs, she kept feeling like there was a kind of plaintive gaze from afar looking their way.

But after glancing around, she found no one.

Han Yi moved the fire near the dirt cave, dragged some dry grass from around, and laid it in the cave. He took out a pair of quilts from inside and placed them on top, "Is it cold? If so, get inside the quilt first."

Lin Wan shook her head.

"Do you need to go to the restroom?"

"Hmm," at Han Yi’s words, she indeed felt the urge, so she stood up and walked outside and didn’t go far, ready to pull down her pants.

Unexpectedly, Han Yi promptly grabbed her, saying, "Not here."

His words were somewhat urgent, causing Lin Wan some confusion, "Huh?"
