Chapter 766: Chapter 217: End of the Road, Meeting the Supreme (8K Words for Monthly Votes)
In the depths of profound darkness, a ghastly pale light slowly rippled.
Under the illumination of chaotic colors, around a bronze table that seemed to have been shattered and reassembled, replete with apparent cracks, four shadows gradually materialized.
One shadow was rotund and plump, sitting upon the Golden Chair, continuously producing one oily green bubble after another, swallowing them;
Another shadow was upright and dignified, crowned with a Blood Crown, wrapped in fierce flames; the flames of oblivion burned, emitting terrified shrieks from within the armor;
And yet another shadow lurked in the prison of bas-relief paintings, sometimes rising, sometimes falling, sometimes light, sometimes heavy, spreading joy and moans and indulgent agonized screams.
These three shadows each sat on chairs symbolizing different directions, all turning toward the fourth shadow with subtle hints of scorn.
That shadow was slender and stretched, flowing within the obscure doorway, half-concealed, half-revealed.
Under a bizarre and deadly gaze, the gloomy doorway suddenly opened, revealing a pair of long and sharp eyes.
It was devoid of emotion yet brimming with rage, making a chaotic clicking sound, and directed a mix of suspicious and infuriated gazes toward the head of the bronze table.
Thus, the other three shadows ceased their mockery and, united in enmity, revealed emotions of either Charm, anger, or greed, spreading forward.
At the head of the bronze table sat a mass enveloped in pure darkness that seemed out of place and ill-fitting amidst the other three shadows.
This darkness, even under the shroud of chaotic colors, failed to fully reveal its true form.
Drip, drip.
Within the darkness, there were serpentine swellings, like flowing mucus, wrapping around something, slowly landing on the table surface, in front of the four shadows.
It was an unremarkable golden book.
The book opened by itself, pages turning from back to front, as if an invisible pen was writing in the void, darting quickly to a specific early page.
The lines, as if correcting, rewriting, and rearranging themselves, were capped with the distinctly strange words "Diary," seemingly informing the four shadows of the significance of the following text, which kept revealing itself:
"...September 15th, praise the great Catastrophe Strategist, Lord of Deceit, King Solomon! The shattered wheel has already rolled forth; we have successfully landed in the human D8B3 sector."
"Under Lord Agares’s leadership, we were the first to reach our destination, and we have made preliminary contact with the city’s Believers."
"They call themselves the Eagle Bear Association and the Snake Team; such strange names, humans are truly inept at naming, unlike us."
"However, at present, we must not show our displeasure; this place belongs to the western part of the Wasteland, severely desolate, and they must provide the blood food, or else we won’t be able to maintain ourselves in good condition."
"Lord Agares says that it’s crucial to grasp the local language as quickly as possible."
"For me, this is very simple; no one understands humans better than I do."
...
"September 25th. Finally met with Lady Aphrodite, had a friendly exchange, and carried out a treaty ceremony for the upcoming plans. Lord Agares was very pleased and hosted a banquet for everyone."
"Truly worthy of the title of Goddess of Beauty, She has a good appearance, good conversation, and a gracious demeanor. The Ganlu from the Jade Bottle Nectar that the Buddha statue on Her back spewed is also very enjoyable to drink; just breathing the same air as Her makes me very pleased."
"Compared to Her, those demanding wretches in the lower dungeons are like wriggling rotting flesh, utterly tedious."
"What a shame that tonight’s blood meal was somewhat foul-smelling; three out of five weren’t virgins, bleh, humans are truly disgusting."
"But Magitelle enjoyed his meal very much; there’s no helping it, after all, he is the youngest among us, a mere infant in the cradle, with no choice, haha."
"The human body is somewhat fragile; we’ve changed his mother three times already; it seems we need to continue."
"I must hurry as well; this body is too fragile."
...
"October 8th, another connection with the Salvation Army has been established; they fly a black banner and are called the Black Emperor Army."
"In a show of sincerity, these humans took Magitelle, stating that they would oversee Magitelle’s birth."
"Not a bad idea at all, I have no objections; after all, I am but a recorder."
"I’ve noticed a peculiarity; the Black Emperor Army’s humans actually wear all white on the inside, two-faced indeed."
"When will Lady Aphrodite return..."
...
"October 10th. We’ve initially located the Divine Calamity coordinates; truly, it’s to Lord Agares’s credit!"
"The place has been occupied by a group of humans using it as a shelter, a former prison."
"They are few in number; I think we can just sweep them all out, but Lord Agares said not to make it known, to blend in with them."
"He said it too late; it’s already done, I was too hungry, a human child wouldn’t be too much, right?"
"At least, she was pure, the taste really wasn’t bad, sweet and delicious."
"No choice, to avoid punishment, I had to eat her parents too. The child had many children’s books; I took them to practice my writing. What should I write? ’I love daddy, I love mommy’ is good, my handwriting is really not bad, hahaha!"
"The moon is full tonight; I’ve heard humans value togetherness. I made them ’together’; I truly am a kind Divine Chosen."
