Chapter 1 The Falling Star
That giant fireball, trailing thick black smoke, appeared on the horizon and plummeted rapidly toward them.
"What… what is that thing?"
Ka Lun stared blankly at the large fireball tearing across the sky, momentarily speechless.
"Is that… a shooting star? Shooting stars in the daytime? Or is it a meteorite?"
The fireball rapidly grew larger in their pupils, the distance shrinking.
"That's a piece of debris from the collapse of the Nest of Sin! Dammit, what terrible luck! We had to run into a fragment being pulled in by this planet!"
The little yellow dog also woke up at this point, and shrieked upon seeing the massive fragment of celestial body.
"Holy crap, this dog can talk?"
Ka Lun knew that this was not the time to dwell on this, and he quickly asked,
"A fragment from the Nest of Sin? Is it because the Nest of Sin is fighting the Wheel of Morality? Did that cause it to collapse?"
"Yes, their fragments are flying everywhere. This must be one of the fragments from the initial collision, taking a whole day to fly here. Nearby star systems have probably already been annihilated out of existence.
The loss of power by the virtuous and the sinners is because of the battle between these two great celestial bodies."
"This…"
Ka Lun was dumbfounded, unable to say another word. This was the first time he had ever seen a celestial body falling towards the ground.
The celestial fragment, influenced by gravity, fell faster and faster.
Finally, in the midst of the trio's frozen stares, it struck right in the center of the city ahead.
The disaster caused by the fall of a celestial body tens of kilometers in diameter was absolutely devastating.
The city was subjected to the most intense earthquake from the violent impact. Countless buildings collapsed, and the wails of anguish were even more terrifying and intense than before.
The shockwave generated by the impact completely pulverized the buildings before they even hit the ground.
Steel and concrete were unable to withstand it in the slightest, let alone the flesh and blood of the humans in the city.
In an instant, their flesh and blood turned into dust, completely merging with the city that had also turned to dust.
All desires and sins were buried beneath the ruins.
The shockwave was extremely terrifying and violent. Ahead, a shockwave dust storm formed from countless particles swept towards them at an unbelievable speed.
"Run!"
Wan Lei roared, grabbed Fang Xiaoyu, and leapt down the hillside. Ka Lun followed closely behind, jumping downwards.
Boom!!!
After a loud bang, the shockwave continued to spread in all directions with unstoppable momentum, nothing able to impede it in the slightest.
That small hillside…
Where was the small hillside now? This place had become a boundless, flat plain.
The shockwave continued to advance into the distance, dust filling the sky wherever it passed.
A moment later, a dark blue hand reached out from the loose earth.
The hand gripped the ground, pushing up with all its strength, sinking back down a bit, then another hand appeared, holding a hammer, gripping the ground forcefully. Finally, a dark blue head appeared.
Wan Lei struggled to climb out of the ground. Fortunately, he wasn't buried too deep. They had been buried under the soil of the slope, and the shockwave carried most of the soil away into the distance.
Otherwise, they would have suffocated to death down there.
After Wan Lei, clad in thunder armor, emerged, he threw the hammer aside and frantically began digging at the ground.
Fang Xiaoyu was still buried below.
"Please, let nothing happen to her. Nothing will happen. Wife, can you hear me? If you can hear me, say something."
Wan Lei dug frantically. Soon, he unearthed a hand.
Overjoyed, he grabbed that hand and pulled with all his might, pulling the person out.
The person had blond hair and was a man.
Ka Lun opened his eyes, greedily gulping down air, but the air wasn't clean, it was full of dust. After taking two breaths, he coughed violently.
Wan Lei ignored him and continued digging. He had dug a large pit in the ground, but still hadn't found Fang Xiaoyu.
Wan Lei was going crazy. Fang Xiaoyu had been buried for longer and longer. If he didn't dig her out soon, she would definitely suffocate below.
He dug deeper and deeper, the pit getting bigger and bigger. Suddenly, a white leg burst out of the pit wall, kicking Wan Lei.
Caught off guard, Wan Lei was kicked against the opposite pit wall. He wasn't angry at all, but overjoyed. He quickly grabbed the long leg, encased in armor and possessing perfect curves, and pulled hard, pulling Fang Xiaoyu out.
After Fang Xiaoyu came out, she shook her head, retracted her faceplate, and took several deep breaths, then coughed loudly.
"Quick, put your faceplate back on. The armor has an automatic air purification function."
Wan Lei quickly reminded her.
Fang Xiaoyu also quickly put on her faceplate and, after breathing a few times, slowly recovered.
"You idiot, you didn't even know you were digging in the wrong place, I'm so mad."
Fang Xiaoyu kicked Wan Lei in the leg.
"Hehe, it's good that you're okay, it's good that you're okay. I was so scared just now."
Wan Lei took off the water bag from his waist and handed it to Fang Xiaoyu,
"Quick, rinse your mouth and clean out the dust."
Fang Xiaoyu took the water bag, took a big gulp of water, coughed twice more, and put her faceplate back on.
"Um… thank you for saving my life, Brother Wan. Could you give me a sip of water too?"
Ka Lun, who had torn off a piece of clothing to cover his mouth and nose as a mask, walked over, looking at Wan Lei with extremely pleading eyes.
"Holy crap, you're not dead yet?"
Young Master Lei was shocked.
"We have armor to protect us, you have nothing, and you didn't get blown to bits."
"…" Ka Lun.
"The question is, why do we not have any extraordinary powers, but the armor still works? That's the key point, right?"
Fang Xiaoyu keenly noticed the key point.
"This shouldn't be considered an extraordinary power, right? The weight of the armor is all on us now, there's no energy inside. In the past, the Thunder Armor could even carry me flying."
"Hmm… that makes sense. The armor still works, so we have one more skill to protect our lives in the future."
"It's not just one skill, it's several! How could our armor be breached by some criminals?"
"Mmm, mmm."
"Mmm your ass!"
Suddenly, a dog's head popped out of the ground.
The little yellow dog jumped out of the dirt, shaking its body rapidly, shaking off all the sand and dirt, then glared fiercely at Wan Lei,
"I knew it, all you care about is your wife, you don't care about my life or death at all. All my help to you has been wasted."
Ka Lun had been shocked many times today.
First, he saw a talking dog, then he witnessed a celestial body colliding with a planet, destroying a city, and then he saw these two strange people conjure up armor out of thin air.
What kind of extraordinary people were these two?
If he followed them, wouldn't his chances of surviving this apocalyptic disaster greatly increase?
