Chapter 20 Three Thousand Loyal Souls

Ling Feng's words completely ignited Madam Jia's fury.

Jia Ziwei had already retreated indoors, frantically making a phone call.

Ling Feng did not leave. Having intervened, he intended to resolve the matter completely.

Ling Feng disliked trouble and did not want the Jia family's flies buzzing around him endlessly. His years of military service had taught him that the best way to deal with annoying flies was to find the "root" of their existence and destroy it completely. Therefore, he decided to wait for the Jia family to arrive.

"Xiao Feng, we should leave. If this escalates, it won't do us any good," Old Man Bai said with a worried expression.

"Yes, Xiao Feng, we can't fight against them," Aunt Bai also advised.

Ling Feng, however, gently shook his head and said, "Don't worry, they can't do anything to me."

Old Man Bai knew Ling Feng's character; once he made a decision, he would never change it. He couldn't persuade him further and sighed, saying nothing more. However, his face was still etched with worry. The Jia family was no easy opponent. What could be done?

The Jia family, as expected of a renowned conglomerate in Hanjiang City, arrived within fifteen minutes, with over twenty luxury cars roaring in. A hundred or so people disembarked from the vehicles in an orderly and swift manner, quickly surrounding the small courtyard so tightly that not a drop of water could get through. Unbeknownst to them, or perhaps deliberately, each of these hundred people bore a ferocious scar on their face, instilling fear in anyone who saw them.

"I heard the Jia family has deep ties with Hanjiang City's underworld. I thought it was just a rumor, but it turns out to be true."

"Shh, keep your voice down. Don't you see the leader is the notorious 'Severed Head Tiger' Song Zhong? If he hears you say that, your head might just get severed."

The Bai family members instinctively retreated to a corner of the courtyard. The scene before them surpassed their imagination, and they dared not get involved.

Seeing the reaction of her people, Madam Jia's face, which had been as dark as a pot's bottom, finally showed a hint of smug satisfaction. She glanced dismissively at the Bai family members in the distance, her contempt deepening. "A bunch of bumpkins who've never seen the world, scared stiff by such a small show of force?"

Bai Xiaowang, suppressing his fear, said obsequiously, "My in-laws, we're just trying not to disturb you big brothers, not that we're scared." Though his words were brave, his legs trembled uncontrollably.

Song Zhong, with a cold expression, approached Madam Jia and asked, "Madam Jia, which blind fool was it who disrespected you?"

Madam Jia excitedly pointed at Ling Feng and shrieked, "It's him! Break his hands first."

Hearing this, Song Zhong turned and looked at Ling Feng with a stern gaze. "Kid, you've got some nerve. You dare to sit when you see us?"

It turned out that Ling Feng had moved a chair at some point and was now sitting there, eyes closed, resting.

As Song Zhong spoke, Ling Feng slowly opened his closed eyes. He glanced indifferently at Song Zhong and said coldly, "Who do you think you are, that I should stand up for you?"

Song Zhong's eyes narrowed, a flicker of anger flashing within them. However, seeing Ling Feng's nonchalant attitude and the faint, almost imperceptible killing intent emanating from him, he managed to suppress his anger. Song Zhong was no novice in the underworld; years of combat had made him exceptionally cautious. Before acting, he had to ascertain the enemy's background and ensure absolute certainty. His nickname in the underworld was "Severed Head Tiger," implying that he only struck when he did, and when he did, it was a fatal blow. Even the president of the Hanjiang City Martial Arts Association showed him utmost respect.

Song Zhong sneered, "Well said, you arrogant brat. In all these years, no one has dared to be so presumptuous in front of me, Severed Head Tiger."

"Severed head? I have no interest in your head either," Ling Feng replied coldly.

The Bai family members chuckled. For years, no one had dared to joke about this influential figure's nickname.

Song Zhong abruptly turned his head, his gaze sharp as he swept over the Bai family. Liu Cuilan's face changed drastically. Trembling, she seemed to want to hide amongst the crowd, but the Bai family members simultaneously moved away from her. "Good, you think it's funny? I'll make you laugh your fill later." Liu Cuilan looked pleadingly at Madam Jia, but Madam Jia didn't even glance at her.

Severed Head Tiger Song Zhong turned his attention back to Ling Feng, his voice chilling, "Don't worry, I won't let you die too quickly."

As soon as he finished speaking, the men in black stepped forward in unison, closing in on Ling Feng. One had to admit, these men in black possessed some skill. This coordinated maneuver alone was enough for them to dominate Hanjiang. However, they had chosen the wrong opponent. Ling Feng did not belong to Hanjiang; he belonged to Dahua.

"Hmph!" A cold snort erupted from Ling Feng. The sound was not loud, but to the men in black, it was like a thunderous roar. Simultaneously, a terrifying pressure erupted from Ling Feng, like a mountain pressing down on everyone, causing their hearts to pound and their bodies to tremble uncontrollably.

"Thump!" With a series of synchronized thuds, the encircling men in black, like sacks of rags, were sent flying backward, crashing heavily against the surrounding courtyard walls. "Ah..." Lying on the ground, they clutched their heads, groaning in pain. Upon closer inspection, it was evident that thin streams of blood were slowly seeping from their noses, mouths, ears, and eyes.

Seeing this, Song Zhong gasped. No one had expected such an outcome. Madam Jia was stunned! The Bai family was stunned! Even Jia Ziwei and Bai Xiaohong, who were secretly peeking from a corner inside the house, were stunned.

Ling Feng stood up, his gaze unwavering, neither pleased nor displeased. The previous maneuver was trivial to him. If not for the Jia family's excessive arrogance and tyranny, he wouldn't have bothered to engage them. At this moment, all eyes were on Ling Feng. They had clearly seen his every move. The instant Ling Feng stood up, everyone, including Madam Jia, felt the pressure on their shoulders increase manifold. They all dropped to their knees in unison. They dared not look at Ling Feng directly. All of them lowered their once proud heads. The vast courtyard instantly became so silent that a pin drop could be heard. Even their breathing seemed to vanish at this moment. Within and outside the courtyard, only Ling Feng stood tall, and only Ling Feng's breathing was clearly audible.

"Thump, thump, thump!" The sound of footsteps echoed. Without looking up, everyone knew it must be Ling Feng's footsteps. At this moment, only he could move, and dared to move. His footsteps should have been light, especially for a master like Ling Feng. Yet, to everyone's ears, they sounded like deafening thunder. The footsteps landed in everyone's hearts, drowning out their heartbeats, filling them with immense dread. It was as if the approaching figure was not a person, but a demon crawling out of hell! Terrifying! Utterly terrifying! Even seasoned veterans like Song Zhong trembled with fear at this moment. However, under Ling Feng's intentional control, Old Man Bai, Aunt Bai, and Xiao Ran felt no such terrifying pressure. Therefore, they were completely bewildered. They had no idea what had happened, nor could they comprehend how these fierce individuals had suddenly all collapsed. Still, they remained silent, waiting for the situation to unfold.

"Thump!" Someone, unable to withstand the terrifying pressure, fainted outright.

Ling Feng walked to Madam Jia and stopped, his voice indifferent. "Lift your head!" Madam Jia raised her head. Her face, already streaked with sweat, resembled that of a ghost. Ling Feng looked down at her and asked sternly, "Who gave you the confidence to arbitrarily break people's limbs? Who gave you the right to deem your family's beasts more precious than human beings?"
