Chapter 58: Chapter 58: Viper Syndicate
"Let’s call ourselves... The Viper Syndicate."
Alex said calmly.
"Strike Silent. Leave Venom."
"What a good name!, this is a damn good name!"
"It sounds tough and full of killing intent. The kind of thing people will fear whenever they will hear about it."
Nathan’s eyes gleamed with exhilaration.
Since he’d begun to follow Alex’s instructions, he had been constantly recruiting people, creating groups, and now his followers were expanding as expected.
With his new members around him, he finally experienced the rush of true power.
Alex smiled and leaned forward to pat on Nathan. "Fine then. Now, firstly create a list with the names and lengths of all your men. I am going to provide each of them two sets of clothes."
Clothes, of course, meant suits for the gang.
Just imagine it—a whole team of street thugs, razor-sharp in coordinating black suits, machetes at the ready, sweeping into the city like professional mafia.
The mere imagination had left Alex so excited for the future of his gang.
He can already imagine the gang flourishing as the one and the only ruler of the Ironhold city Underground in the distant future.
That’s why he had proposed the name Viper Syndicate for the gang, a domineering name for a future giant.
"Haha, deal! Thanks, Brother Alex!" Nathan burst out laughing, then spun around and shouted at his men.
"What are you all doing there standing at the distance? Didn’t you guys hear what our Boss said?
He’s rewarding us! Show some respect!"
"Thank you, Boss!"
"Thank you, Boss!"
"Thank you, Boss!"
The voices of over fifty men shouted together, shaking the air.
Alex didn’t respond. He Just smiled contentedly.
At this moment Nathan seem to finally notice two other people standing in the courtyard.
"Hmm? Who are these two?"
"I know that one," one of his gang member whispered slightly in his ear. "He is a police officer."
"And for that burly man? I’ve never seen him before."
"Sister, who is that burly man? What are they doing here?"
Nathan was clearly surprised by the sudden new faces of two strangers into his own courtyard, so he couldn’t help asking his sister about them.
Lucy immediately stepped forward and hastened to repeat all that had just occurred before the arrival of the Nathan, she only explained the situation but not who really Jacob is.
Nathan felt silent after hearing about it. His fists were clenched so hard that his knuckles creaked loudly.
He glared with clear rage. "Damn it!" he snarled through clenched teeth.
"It’s one thing if Simon wants to take my life, but he nearly killed Brother Alex and you two!"
His rage raged so hotly that he almost stormed to the government station to fight Simon there and then.
"Luckily, Brother Alex was present," Lucy spoke softly, her voice quivering. "If not for him, I don’t know what would have happened today..."
Her gaze wavered as she looked at Alex.
That look gave Alex a small heart skip.
Lucy’s complexion was fair and slender, her eyes shining bright like a flowing stream.
Her manner was such that there was a kind warmth about her, and Alex couldn’t help but think about if she were to be a wife of someone, she would certainly be a fine one.
What the hell am I thinking?
He shakes his head suppressed the thoughts immediately before it could spiral into something dangerous.
But at the moment Lucy who thought that she has been caught staring, suddenly felt a burning sensation on her cheeks. Her heart started racing wildly.
She wasn’t sure why, but whenever Alex was out of sight, her mind drifted to him.
Was this what ...those people in stories felt when they are in love?
She had read stories about it—about how the heart sometimes seem to silently tilts towards someone without explanation. Was this that sensation?
If I could truly be with Brother Alex one day...
Her mind wandered on, and she hastily shook her head
"Oh no! What am I thinking about?" she reproached herself silently.
"Why is it that the more I do not want to think about it, the more confused my mind becomes?"
While Lucy is clearing her inner thoughts, the talk of the previous incident continued to be discussed.
"That Simon really deserves to die," Alex answered coldly.
His tone had the kind of calm that precedes a storm. "I have a plan. I’ll tell you slowly."
Soon everyone’s attention was drawn towards Alex.
Whose eyes move from Nathan, Jacob, to finally rest on Antonio before he resumed speaking.
"There are two parts to this plan," he went on.
He extended one finger.
"First: Rescue Jacob’s mother. Tonight, under the cover of darkness, Nathan —you’ll lead a few trusted members of the gang to Ashford Village.
Move quietly. No noise, no rash moves.
Bring the old woman back safely. That should come before anything else."
Nathan’s fists clenched, and he nodded heavily. "I’ll do it."
Alex lifted a second finger.
"Second: Kill Simon.
Tomorrow at night, we will plan an attack on him, when he is going to the Maxwell family as per the Intel.
Jacob and Nathan will take thirty men and ambush him, as instructed by Antonio.
Our objective should is clear: don’t let Simon out alive.
And as for the finishing blow..." Alex’s gaze met Antonio’s, "you have to do it."
The room went silent for a moment all trying to digest the details.
"That’s the plan," Alex finally asked. "Is everyone clear?"
"Alright!" Nathan’s voice was stern, his eyes flashing with fury.
"Got it!" Jacob inserted his view too.
But Antonio gulped hard, his face white just hearing that he will be the one to kill.
"Uh... I’ve never killed anyone before. What if... what if I can’t bring myself to do it?"
The mood changed at that in an instant.
Jacob gave a laugh, the sort that sent the hairs on the back of the neck standing up. "Can’t kill?"
"Don’t worry just think it as slaughtering cattles for meat"
Antonio hearing him felt terrific.
Killing is like slaughtering livestock to them?
