Chapter 70: 70. Three Card Poker
Seeing Chen Che looking eager to start gambling made Bobby and Xia Na puzzled.
Is he here to play or to cause trouble?
The cards were dealt one by one.
First in order was a middle-aged woman covered with various exaggerated tattoos and wearing a lip ring.
"Closed bet two hundred."
The woman immediately closed the bet at two hundred. Her next player was a fat man who had obviously lost a lot of money. The fat man hesitated but chose to close bet in the first round.
No one from the several players viewed the cards.
The closed bets followed the woman all the way at two hundred.
Naturally, Chen Che wouldn’t view the cards either. In the game of three-card poker, once you view the cards, whoever closed with an amount, you must at least double it.
"Nobody viewing?" The tattooed woman was excited. After this round of closed bets, the stakes on the table were nearing two thousand.
"A bunch of men with less guts than a woman, I’ll raise the stakes, closed bet four hundred!"
The fat man couldn’t sit still and chose to view the cards.
He opened the cards and glanced nonchalantly.
Then put them down without expression.
"I’ll call a hand."
The fat man threw in eight hundred.
The others saw the fat man viewed the cards but still called, raised their eyebrows, and couldn’t ascertain whether the fat man was bluffing or had a big hand.
Another round.
Two people viewed the cards and folded, while two continued to close bet until it reached Chen Che. Chen Che decisively chose to view the cards.
Xia Na glanced down, QKA of spades!
Xia Na’s breath quickened, an ace high straight flush!
If you don’t play this hand, it would be unforgivable!
Although she didn’t know what exactly Chen Che was playing, one must maintain composure at the poker table. Xia Na restrained her expression, not letting too much excitement show.
Bobby also saw the cards, as a seasoned gambler his eyes brightened.
This is a sure win, isn’t it?
Chen Che touched Xia Na’s thigh, silently folded the cards and then without hesitation discarded them saying, "I’m out, everyone."
Witnessing this scene, Xia Na and Bobby nearly popped their eyes out of their sockets. Xia Na was about to angrily question Chen Che when he pinched her thigh hard. Xia Na came to her senses, biting her lower lip, whispered, "Are you crazy to throw away such a good hand?"
Chen Che placed a finger on his lips and said, "Shh, men play cards, women don’t interrupt."
"You!"
Ultimately, Xia Na held back.
As a seasoned gambler, Bobby felt like a cat was constantly scratching at his heart.
Not playing such a big hand is truly maddening to an old gambler.
Bobby and Xia Na’s reactions were naturally noticed by the other gamblers, who were all puzzled.
Did Chen Che get a big hand? Then why did he throw it? But if he threw it without having a big hand, why would those two look so heartbroken?
Strange.
Chen Che didn’t reveal the cards when he discarded them, throwing them away obscurely, and no one at the table went to uncover Chen Che’s cards.
Since the competitor walked away, others ignored it and continued betting.
Round after round.
The tattooed woman decided not to view the cards and closed bet all the way to two thousand. In a short time, the chips on the table reached twenty thousand.
Only three players remained, apart from the fat man and tattooed woman, another thin man couldn’t stand it and chose to open the fat man’s cards.
In the game of three-card poker, if one party keeps choosing not to view and closed bets, the card viewer can only open cards of those who viewed similarly, unless both keep closed bets until the end for a showdown.
Currently, the chips on the table had risen to two thousand per round.
Opening the cards costs double, four thousand.
"Hand it over, I’ll take a look."
The fat man took the thin man’s cards and after a glance, immediately tossed them into the pile saying, "Your cards need more time to settle."
"Damn!"
The thin man punched the poker table in anger, lit a cigarette furiously, "Damn, what does this fat man have? My hand still lost."
"I continue to raise." With only one player left, the fat man stopped pretending and suddenly became arrogant.
The tattooed woman noticed this, couldn’t decide, and finally chose to open the fat man.
The tattooed woman uncovered her own cards, a not too big or too small flush.
Just as a smile was appearing in her heart, the fat man grinned and revealed his cards.
Trip fours!
Xia Na and Bobby were both shocked, looking at Chen Che incredulously.
This fat man actually had such good cards, if Chen Che kept playing, it’d be a significant loss.
Chen Che confidently rubbed Xia Na’s thigh and said, "Nana, how is it?"
[Why is this guy so into rubbing my leg? It’s just a piece of meat, so boring...]
Xia Na rolled her eyes, although slightly impressed inside, she didn’t show it outwardly.
Hearing Xia Na’s inner thoughts, Chen Che couldn’t help but sigh, such a little stubborn girl.
He had eaten the Candy of Listening to the Heart.
Playing three-card poker is equivalent to having clairvoyance.
Everyone’s psychological changes couldn’t escape his ear.
Bobby was further impressed by this hand.
He looked at Chen Che with eyes like seeing a god.
If it were him, holding such huge winnings, he would definitely continue to the end!
The poker table continued, for the next dozen rounds, Chen Che discarded mid-game, losing nearly five thousand.
Over the 20th round.
The atmosphere changed somewhat.
The fat man who won the first round got another hand of cards, his pupils suddenly shrank, his breath becoming rapid.
In one round, he raised the stakes to nearly five thousand.
At these stakes, even without viewing cards, each round requires two thousand five hundred.
Chen Che closed several hands, and the others couldn’t take it, each viewed the cards.
Most hesitated and folded.
In the end, three players remained.
The fat man, Chen Che, and a tattooed woman.
Only Chen Che hadn’t viewed the cards.
The other two didn’t fold, instead, they were steadily dragging it up, the stakes on the table soared to eighty thousand.
After a few more rounds, Chen Che viewed the cards.
Bobby and Xia Na couldn’t help but become tense.
Chen Che had already thrown over ten thousand into the pot.
Upon revealing the cards, just a pair of small sevens made their hearts sink.
The two players daring to bet so much, the hands must be extremely strong.
"Why don’t you throw it..." Xia Na just said, Chen Che directly pushed out fifty thousand in chips.
"Fifty thousand without opening, if you dare, keep following!"
Xia Na and Bobby almost jumped out of their skins.
A pair of small sevens also dare to bet fifty thousand without opening?
The fat man and tattooed woman looked extremely displeased.
"Damn, old gal won’t open at fifty thousand bet either!"
"Come on, I bet fifty thousand too!"
Chen Che’s chips weren’t enough, he beckoned and a bunny girl and waiter immediately presented a loan contract.
Chen Che directly borrowed two hundred thousand chips, repayable within three hours with interest calculated exponentially.
"Fifty thousand. Keep betting..."
Xia Na anxiously reached to pinch Chen Che’s abs, squeezing hard, causing Chen Che nearly to lose control of his expression while he quickly grabbed Xia Na’s hand.
It wasn’t that Xia Na was feeling sorry for the money but simply affected by the gambler’s spirit.
Chen Che smiled at the fat man and tattooed woman, "I can still call three more hands, next hand I’ll raise to a hundred thousand, and keep borrowing if necessary."
At a Copper Level poker table, the chips on the table had reached nearly two hundred thousand, attracting the attention of the entire casino.
More and more gamblers gathered to watch the action, each enticing the fat man and tattooed woman to raise the stakes.
Sweat began to appear on the foreheads of both the fat man and tattooed woman.
Where did this madman come from?
The two exchanged glances, and the tattooed woman gritted her teeth, saying, "A hundred thousand fat man, I open you!"
"Hand it over, I’ll take a look!"
The fat man took the tattooed woman’s cards, then sighed in relief, tossing them with arrogance, "A bluffer dares to open my cards?"
The tattooed woman angrily cursed, "Screw you! I steal your mother’s chicken! What’s your hand? I hold a set! You just have 235? Or another set bigger than mine?!"
Upon hearing this, Xia Na and Bobby felt a chill down their spines.
"What cards do you have? Never mind your set, just a pair of nines!" The fat man swore angrily, the tattooed woman fumed and breathed heavily, lost her temper, left the poker table, and hurried off.
The fat man grinned at Chen Che, "I won’t open, I bet another fifty thousand. Relax, I’m no set, that woman is crazy talking nonsense."
Chen Che nodded and smiled, "I understand, a hundred thousand, I bet, not opening."
