Chapter 305: Chapter 305: Does She Seem to Really Like Bella Green?
Watching the pair holding hands as they walked away, Fiona Grantham nearly grinded her teeth to bits.
"Sister Phoebe, don’t mind him, my brother just has that kind of temper," Victor Bennett quickly explained.
Fiona took a deep breath, restored her graceful smile, and shook her head.
"I’m well aware of Mason’s temper, I won’t mind. Let’s go, I wonder if Mr. and Mrs. Bennett will like the gifts I brought."
"They’ll surely like them; you picked them out with care, all things my parents love," Victor chuckled.
...
Bella Green was pulled inside by Mason Bennett and immediately hugged tightly.
"Oh, you little rascal Bella, it’s been so long since you visited grandma."
Hearing that familiar voice, Bella didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.
"Grandma, didn’t I just have dinner with you not long ago?" The last time she came over for dinner wasn’t that long ago, was it?
"A week and two days ago," the elderly Mrs. Bennett released her and glared at her with a faux grievance.
Bella: "..." She really kept track of the days clearly.
"Mom, is that Mason who came back?" came a woman’s voice from the living room.
There was no need to think; Bella also knew whose voice it was.
Soon, a woman with an elegant demeanor dressed in a mauve cheongsam dress walked out.
"Oh Bellamy, this is Bella, the one I told you about, Mason’s younger brother. Isn’t he cute?" The elderly Mrs. Bennett clasped Bella’s hand, endearingly affectionate.
Upon hearing this, Bellamy Homes looked at Bella with a poised smile on her lips yet her gaze scrutinized up and down like a scanner.
Finally, she spoke, "Welcome."
Two words, neither warm nor cold.
Bella smiled slightly, saying, "Hello, aunt."
Bellamy smiled and nodded. Just as she was about to speak, the door was pushed open again, and Victor Bennett and Fiona Grantham walked in.
"Mom, I missed you so much!!" Victor gave Bellamy a big hug.
Bellamy lovingly chastised him with pats on his back, then looked at the door where Fiona was smiling at her.
"Hello, aunt, I’m Fiona,"
Fiona had a perfectly gentle smile, standing there displaying the air of a high-society lady.
Bellamy looked at her, the smile at her lips seeming to fade a bit: "Fiona Grantham? The famous actress Fiona?"
Fiona nodded with a smile: "Yes."
Bellamy simply returned the nod with a smile, said nothing, and gave Victor a slight glare before turning to enter the house.
The atmosphere froze instantly. Fiona felt her expression stiffen because she’d been dealt an embarrassment right off the bat, yet she still maintained her smile and looked toward Mrs. Bennett.
"And this must be grandma. Victor often speaks of you," Fiona said affectionately.
Mrs. Bennett looked at her, clicked her tongue, and chuckled, "This girl is quite familiar."
After speaking, she pulled Bella into the living room, continuously grumbling about Bella’s lack of conscience for not visiting more often.
Compared to Bellamy, Mrs. Bennett’s words were even more blunt, nearly breaking Fiona’s smile.
Victor also felt a bit embarrassed: "Well, my grandma has a childish temper."
Fiona nodded, "I know, but she seems to really like Bella?"
Fiona squinted her eyes, looking towards the living room.
She knew well enough the Bennetts’ status and had prepared for potential difficulties, but she hadn’t expected it.
Mrs. Bennett, surprisingly, likes Bella so much...
Seems like I underestimated her!
