Chapter 134: Chapter 65: Spectators Watching the Drama (Requesting Subscriptions, Favorites, and Monthly Tickets)
6:20 AM.
Luo Fei woke up on time, despite having gone to bed past four in the morning.
Rubbing his eyes, he sat up in bed, and after thinking for a moment, he picked up his phone and sent Yang Mei a message.
"Wake up."
He attached a good morning emoji afterward.
After waiting a while with no response from Yang Mei, she likely hadn’t woken up yet.
Not overly concerned, he quickly got dressed and left his room. The living room was empty, indicating Wu Yan had gone to work, and Luo Xiaoxiao and Luo Hao were likely still asleep.
Since school had recently started, to prevent the two siblings from oversleeping, he knocked on their doors one by one before going to wash up.
By the time he finished washing up and came out, the siblings were rubbing their eyes and emerging from their rooms.
"Brother, when did you get back? Didn’t Mom say you were working overtime last night?" Luo Xiaoxiao asked, blinking her eyes.
"Around four. Don’t just stand there; hurry up and wash up, then get ready for breakfast."
Luo Fei said, heading to the kitchen to bring out the breakfast Wu Yan had kept warm in the pot and placed it on the table.
Luo Xiaoxiao was still washing her face and brushing her teeth, while Luo Hao merely rinsed a couple of times before sitting down at the dining table.
Watching Luo Fei set the table, he bravely said, "Bro, could you not wake me up so early next time? I don’t have to get to school until 7:45, and I’d have enough time to sleep for another half hour."
Luo Hao, at his age, was fond of playing and stayed up until eleven or twelve every night, making 6 AM his prime time for sleeping. Being woken up by Luo Fei inevitably left him displeased.
But, he didn’t dare say it outright, so he could only act as if negotiating.
Luo Fei was no stranger to his thoughts and sincerely said, "You think you have a reason to stay up so late? Even though you’re only a freshman, your studies will only get heavier day by day. Waking up early to study can help you get into a better university, which will make things easier for you in the future."
After listening, Luo Hao couldn’t help but exclaim, "Bro, you’re starting to sound just like Mom."
"We’re only saying this for your own good. You’re in a critical stage now; if you don’t buckle down, what will you do in the future?"
Luo Hao’s grades were just average, and Wu Yan often nagged him, to the point his ears had calluses from hearing it. So, hearing Luo Fei ready to launch into a long speech, he quickly cut him off, "Okay, okay, bro, I get it, please stop talking."
"You kid, I know you don’t want to hear it, but good advice is unpleasant to the ears. As long as you’re aware, that’s what matters."
Having gone through that age himself, Luo Fei didn’t want to push too hard and sat down to eat after just saying a few words.
By this time, Luo Xiaoxiao was ready and sat next to Luo Fei. While eating breakfast, she curiously asked Luo Fei, "Bro, what was the case last night? Did someone die again?"
Just entering puberty, kids have a heightened sense of curiosity, and Luo Xiaoxiao was no exception.
Luo Fei rolled his eyes at her, "Don’t talk nonsense. That’s not the case. Besides, why are kids trying to find out about these things? Focus more on your studies."
Having been scolded for no reason, Luo Xiaoxiao pouted and dared not inquire further, whereas Luo Hao, amused at her plight, winked teasingly at her, only to receive a painful kick under the table from Luo Xiaoxiao.
Luo Hao immediately grimaced in pain, "You brat, are you trying to murder your brother!?"
"Hmph, that’s what you get for provoking me!"
"You brat, don’t think I’ll take you to school later!"
Both were day students, and back when they lived near the cement plant, which was quite far from school, it was usually Luo Hao who took Luo Xiaoxiao on his bicycle. He instinctively used this to threaten his sister.
Unexpectedly, Luo Xiaoxiao merely stuck her tongue out at him, "Don’t take me then; it’s only a few steps to school anyway, I can walk myself!"
Only then did Luo Hao remember they had moved house, and this threat indeed wouldn’t work on her anymore.
Seeing his defeated look, Luo Xiaoxiao couldn’t help but giggle gleefully.
After bickering for a while, Luo Xiaoxiao suddenly remembered something, "Oh right, second brother, you went to see the concert last night, didn’t you? How was it, lively?"
High school students get the scoop quickly, so when news spread that Sun Ling would hold a concert here, Luo Xiaoxiao had heard all about it from her classmates.
However, she wasn’t interested in female stars, especially since Sun Ling had already faded for several years, so she didn’t join the crowd last night.
But apparently, Luo Hao went.
Mentioning it made Luo Hao seethe with anger.
"Lively, my foot! A bunch of us waited all night, and Sun Ling didn’t even show up. The organizers claimed she couldn’t attend due to some issue. Had I known, I wouldn’t have gone!"
"No way!"
"Who knows why, but I heard my friends say Sun Ling might have gotten into some trouble since a police car showed up at the end."
Saying this, Luo Hao suddenly turned to Luo Fei, "Hey, brother, you’re a cop, do you know anything?"
During Luo Hao and Luo Xiaoxiao’s chatter, Luo Fei had been eating without lifting his head. After finishing the last bite and putting down his bowl, he replied, "Know what? Just eat up and remember to clean up your dishes afterward!"
"Yeah, exactly, why should kids be prying into these things when they should focus on their studies!"
Luo Xiaoxiao seized the opportunity to mimic Luo Fei’s earlier tone.
Failing to gossip and being lectured instead, Luo Hao was quite upset. He looked plaintively at Luo Fei, "Bro, why is it always me washing the dishes, and not Xiaoxiao?"
