Chapter 365 Leaving

As Connor and the others watched the helicopter depart, their gazes were once again drawn to Lin Yu, who was suspended in mid-air atop a giant bird.

They had never seen such a large bird before, nor one so peculiar, even among the mutated ones they had encountered.

"This giant bird seems to have mutated significantly. Has anyone seen a bird like this before?"

"No. Perhaps it's a species unique to this country? I recall reading in some book about the strange animals found here."

"Have you seen a dragon? They say it's the totem symbol of this country."

"I haven't seen one in person, but I've seen pictures online."

"It's probably a similar creature. Look, it has four legs and wings, like a bird but not quite."

The group stood on the ground, observing the teratorn hovering in the air, discussing it animatedly.

"You all seem to have forgotten about the zombies around us," Lu Heng said, waving his hand and clearing away a large number of them.

These zombies had been drawn by the sound of the helicopter. There were quite a few.

After the helicopter landed, they had already dealt with one wave of zombies.

However, more zombies were still converging here, as this area was close to Luocheng, and zombies in the vicinity were constantly being drawn towards it.

Reminded by Lu Heng, the others began to clear the surrounding zombies again.

But their combat was almost unbearable to watch. Lu Heng truly doubted if these people could survive here if they were truly seeking to develop.

Lu Heng waved his hand again, and his palm wind transformed into layers of wind blades, slashing towards the zombies in front of him. The zombies were sliced into several pieces by the wind blades.

"Where is the teleportation location?"

"Uh, I'm not sure of the exact location right now. Take a look at that teleporter; it has a prompt."

Upon hearing this, Lu Heng took out the teleporter from his spatial storage. As expected, it had no changes, appearing like a piece of scrap metal. A screen lit up in front of it, displaying an arrow-like indicator.

"We just need to follow this," Connor said, seeing the indicator displayed by the teleporter.

Lu Heng glanced at the indicator, then looked up at Lin Yu in the air and nodded.

Seeing this, Lin Yu nodded back at Lu Heng. Then, Lin Yu adjusted the direction of the teratorn and flew ahead towards the direction indicated by the screen.

"Let's go."

Lu Heng urged the group towards the direction indicated by the arrow. He certainly wouldn't help them clear the path.

Whether they could successfully teleport back would depend on their own fortune.

Occasionally, zombies would try to flank them from behind, and Lu Heng would deal with them casually. But the fighting ahead was too fierce; that was where the most zombies were concentrated.

Fortunately, these people managed to get through without any major incidents. They cooperated with each other and, barely avoiding injury, reached the location indicated by the arrow.

This was a village near Luocheng. The original residents of the village had long since turned into zombies.

After more than half a year of neglect, the village was overgrown with weeds, and a scene of decay was everywhere.

Connor and his group had to constantly be wary of attacks from zombies hiding in the dense vegetation.

However, after nearly half a year of the apocalypse's invasion, the zombies here were no longer the initial wave of farmers.

After Connor and his group arrived, they cleared the surrounding zombies again. As the group moved away from the helicopter's landing site, the nearby zombies decreased. Only a few zombies wandering in the village were attracted by their scent.

"After clearing this wave, there probably won't be any new zombies," Connor and the others said, looking at the scattered zombies gathering around.

"Yes, after we clear this area, I remember now. Outside that house is where we were teleported from," someone in the group pointed to a house.

Lu Heng looked at the teleporter's direction; it indeed pointed towards that house.

Lu Heng ignored the people around him and walked towards the house.

"You can't abandon us; we need to go back too." Connor's voice was filled with panic as he saw Lu Heng heading towards the house.

The teleporter was in Lu Heng's hand. What if Lu Heng decided to activate the teleportation device alone without them?

He dared not think about it. While he was afraid of facing that woman after returning, he was even more afraid of being left in this country.

The people here made him realize that he couldn't get by easily.

Just by riding the helicopter here, he had once again felt that in Wuming City, there were almost no ability users with a lower level than his. He couldn't even discern the ability levels of everyone.

"Don't worry, you still have some use."

Lu Heng still intended to use this person to determine who had given him the teleporter.

Hearing this, Connor unconsciously sped up his zombie-killing, "Kill faster, and retreat that way."

The people around still habitually followed Connor's orders, retreating and killing zombies as they went.

Lu Heng, holding the teleporter, walked to the open space in front of the house. The indicator on the screen projected by the teleporter changed, showing a downward arrow, indicating that Lu Heng had arrived at his destination.

Immediately after, a green circular icon appeared in the lower right corner of the screen.

Connor saw the change on the teleporter's projection in Lu Heng's hand from a distance.

He was extremely nervous, disregarding the zombies beside him, and rushed towards Lu Heng.

Standing beside Lu Heng, Connor cautiously looked at him. He dared not reach out to snatch it, yet he was afraid that Lu Heng might press the green dot at any moment.

"What are you so nervous about? I usually keep my word."

Lu Heng dangled the teleportation equipment in his hand, then looked at the group that had finally arrived.

"Is everyone here?"

Connor moved closer to Lu Heng, then glanced at the followers.

"The teleportation range is a diameter of three meters. Everyone stand closer to the teleporter," Connor reminded everyone.

"Then we're leaving." Lu Heng nodded at Lin Yu, who was nearby. With a flash of white light, Lu Heng and the people around him vanished from the open space in front of the house.

The ground where the light beam had enveloped was scorched black, and the weeds were gone.

Lin Yu saw the scene of Lu Heng and the others disappearing from a short distance away. At the same time, he turned off the recording equipment he had brought.

That's right, he had just recorded the situation when Lu Heng left. After all, this was a phenomenon that existing technology couldn't explain. He needed to bring this back for the scientists at the research center to study.

This was also something he had agreed upon with Lu Heng earlier. Lu Heng had felt that the device might be related to higher dimensions, so he wanted Lin Yu to record the scene of their departure.

Lin Yu once again looked down at the scorched-like open space from mid-air. He patted the teratorn's back and then headed towards Wuming City.
