Leaving the hotel, Xuan Niao emerged from the shadows and drove the car to the entrance. Ye Longlin and Mu Ye got in, and they departed.
“Contact the Glory Hall and have them reach out to all bank headquarters. All bank managers in Chang’an City are to convene tomorrow at eight at the Mayor’s Tower.”
Since they had dined here tonight, it meant the Giant Whale Chamber of Commerce already knew of his existence. The Dark Hall must have ordered them to deal with him, otherwise, they wouldn’t have so many people gathered together.
Xuan Niao had checked, and since the establishment of the Giant Whale Chamber of Commerce, they had never held a meeting, nor had there ever been a precedent for all members gathering. Thus, something was definitely amiss.
Since they already knew, there was no need to continue hiding.
With the business war imminent, all funds within Chang’an City’s banks were resources they needed to contend for. They had to suppress them directly from the source, absolutely preventing them from obtaining any money from the banks!
“Understood.”
...
The next morning.
Ye Longlin and his group drove directly to the Mayor’s Tower. After obtaining Mayor Jin Wu’s consent the previous night, the meeting room was prepared early in the morning, and nameplates were also ready.
The heads of thirteen banks, including Purple Thistle Bank, Hundred Cities Bank, and Chang’an Commercial Bank, all arrived.
“Late last night, I received a call from Mayor Jin Wu asking me to attend a meeting today. It seems you all received calls from Mayor Jin Wu yesterday evening.”
“Yes, I was almost asleep in bed when Mayor Jin Wu called. I’m not sure what’s going on, but if he wants us here, we’ll be here.”
“The banking regulatory officials are also present. The head of the Chang’an Regulatory Department is here in person. Could it be another rectification? Our lending quota for this year is less than half complete.”
A group of people whispered amongst themselves, none of them knowing what was happening, all very puzzled. They were unclear about the situation and could only exchange glances.
To these individuals, the banking regulators were like an insurmountable mountain, impossible to defy.
As they were discussing, Mayor Jin Wu suddenly pushed the door open and walked in. However, to their surprise, someone of his status was actually bowing. The crowd then noticed that the person seated at the head of the table was not Mayor Jin Wu, and there was no nameplate at the main seat.
“Everyone’s here? Since everyone’s here, let’s begin the meeting. I am not chairing this meeting; I am merely an observer. Please feel free to be at ease.”
Jin Wu chuckled and sat to the side, acting entirely like an observer.
The bank managers felt as though something significant was about to happen, and they all held their breath.
After Ye Longlin took his seat at the head of the table, the curtains were drawn, plunging the meeting room into darkness. Xuan Niao turned on the lights and then took out a box, opening it.
A signal jammer.
All electronic devices would be rendered inoperable in this meeting room.
“Allow me to introduce our esteemed guest from the Glory Hall. Although young, he is a formidable high-ranking official within the Glory Hall. Beside him is one of the high-ranking officials of the Dragon Pavilion, code-named Xuan Niao, a Three-Star General.”
Jin Wu explained Xuan Niao’s identity but not Ye Longlin’s.
However, they knew that with a Three-Star General as a subordinate, Ye Longlin’s status must be extraordinary!
There were only ten Three-Star Generals openly acknowledged!
With someone like that serving as his subordinate, Ye Longlin’s status was bound to exceed their expectations!
“Distribute the documents,” Ye Longlin said slowly.
Xuan Niao saluted and replied, “Yes!”
Soon, bound documents were distributed page by page.
“Ladies and gentlemen, you are all familiar with the companies on this list. Behind their legal representatives are their market capitalization, debt-to-equity ratios, and cash flow. Finally, there are their outstanding debts with each bank.”
“These companies share a common trait: they are members of the Giant Whale Chamber of Commerce, and the mastermind behind this organization is the enemy. They pose a threat to national security, so the Glory Hall has ordered their elimination. However, these companies are also pillar enterprises of Chang’an, and thus, economic turmoil must be avoided.
After discussions among various parties, it has been decided to engage in a business war with these companies to minimize losses. To counter the people behind the Giant Whale Chamber of Commerce, the Yuan Zhan Group, the Murong family, and Tianqiong Chinese Network will lead the establishment of a new company to launch a commercial attack on the Giant Whale Chamber of Commerce.
Currently, the Examination Bureau has received an application from the Giant Whale Chamber of Commerce to establish the Giant Whale Group. Therefore, we implore the various banks to reject loan applications from these companies. Furthermore, for any outstanding debts owed by these companies to your respective banks, we urge the banks to expedite their recovery.”
Xuan Niao stood up to explain to them. In truth, she preferred not to explain. In her opinion, drawing a gun would be more effective than anything else!
To have to explain laboriously like this now was truly troublesome.
“Well… I’d like to ask a question. If they stop issuing loans, where will our banks’ profits come from? These are all top-tier enterprises. If we halt their loans, our banks’ lending quotas won’t be fully utilized, and we bank managers will also be implicated.”
A bank manager raised his hand and asked.
Xuan Niao snorted and directly pulled out her pistol, placing it on the table with an attitude that implied she would shoot if he continued to speak nonsense.
The bank managers were speechless.
Ye Longlin rolled his eyes and said exasperatedly, “Put it away! Who told you to take it out!”
Xuan Niao glared at them and reluctantly put away her pistol.
“I understand your concerns. If you are willing, you can directly sign loan contracts with the Baichuan Group today. With the Murong family and the Yuan Zhan Group involved, you have nothing to worry about.”
Ye Longlin chuckled, as if he had already considered everything for them.
“Bank managers, you can lend with confidence. The Chang’an Mayor’s Tower stands behind them; in fact, the nation stands behind them. What more could you possibly be worried about? The interest rates will be calculated as normal, and this business war will not last long, ending within a month at most.”
The group exchanged glances and could only nod in agreement. After all, the other party had brought out a gun, and if they didn’t comply, they might end up staying there for the day!
This sort of thing was quite intimidating.
Soon, they made phone calls to prepare contracts, while Xuan Niao began to notify Mu Ye, Lin Tian’ai, and Xia Qingxie to enter and prepare to sign the agreements.
Under the watchful eyes of the banking regulatory department, the banks finally signed an agreement with the regulators not to extend loans to the companies listed in the documents.
“Under the supervision of the banking regulatory department, the total signed lending funds amount to five hundred billion!”
