Chapter 918: Chapter 935: The Wager [2 Updates]

When it came to combat, Singer had temporarily accepted Ye Feng’s prowess, but when it came to wealth, Singer could never bow down. In Singer’s eyes, a person from Dragon Country, no matter how rich, could not possibly be that wealthy.

The receptionist looked at Ye Feng, unable to hide the disdain in her eyes, "Sir, I’m afraid there’s no way around it, Mr. Singer has already told you, in order to become a member of our arena, you need at least fifty million in assets, so I can’t help you with membership."

Ye Feng’s commotion had already caught the attention of those around, and everyone looked on with disdain, commenting, "A Dragon Country person wanting to become a member of the arena? Ridiculous!"

"Yeah, folks from Dragon Country are so poor, how could they have any money? They have no self-awareness at all!"

In actuality, for these people from Country D to view Dragon Country citizens as poor was not without reason—Country D had a huge wealth gap. The assets of the top families alone could together surpass billions upon billions, positioning them at the first tier, with the second tier far behind.

The second-tier families had total assets estimated only in the billions, and by the third tier, the so-called third-rate nobility, their assets might be just a few million.

And these people represented less than one percent of Country D’s population.

In other words, out of a hundred Country D people, less than one person is wealthy, maybe even fewer.

More than ninety percent of Country D has a total fortune of less than thirty thousand.

Ninety percent don’t have bathrooms at home; they relieve themselves whenever and wherever, on the streets. Ninety percent of women use a piece of scrap cloth during their periods.

In such a country with a massive wealth gap and not very sanitary conditions, wealthy individuals from Dragon Country simply wouldn’t travel here. Generally, those who come are broke students on budget trips.

Over time, people from Country D naturally believed Dragon Country citizens were very poor, notwithstanding the fact that it’s actually because Dragon Country’s rich wouldn’t visit such dirty places like Country D.

"What’s going on?" Just then, a burly, imposing middle-aged man with vibrant blood Qi approached.

The man was spirited, his eyes piercing. Upon seeing him, everyone became excited.

Even the fear in Singer’s eyes toward Ye Feng vanished, for the man was none other than the arena supervisor.

At this moment, Singer walked over to the supervisor, once again showing disdain and scorn towards Ye Feng, "Sir, this Dragon Country person claims he wants to apply for membership at our arena; isn’t that laughable?"

Seeing Singer relish in his apparent victory beside the supervisor, Lin Shiyu and Han Yi felt a wave of disgust.

Earlier, he was as timid as a mouse in front of Ye Feng, but now he has someone to back him up, his demeanor completely changed.

"Dragon Country person?" The arena supervisor looked at Ye Feng, frowning, his eyes full of loathing and disdain.

"Why is a Dragon Country person causing a scene at our arena? Get out immediately, this is no place for you, and you’re certainly not getting a membership card!" The supervisor said coldly.

Singer also looked scornfully, "Did you hear, kid? Get out now, do you have fifty million?"

Ye Feng sneered coldly, "Just fifty million? I find it amusing, it’s only fifty million, and how do you know I can’t come up with it?"

The arena supervisor replied disdainfully, "We know exactly what people from Dragon Country are like, get out now, or don’t blame me for being rude!"

Instantly, the arena supervisor’s aura, belonging to an Innate Realm Grandmaster, burst forth, bearing down on Ye Feng and his group.

Unfazed by the supervisor’s pressure, Ye Feng casually took out a card from his pocket.

"You have a card reader here, don’t you? Open your eyes and see if I have fifty million!" Ye Feng said coldly.

"Stop pretending! You, with fifty million? I’d be surprised if you even have five million! There might be a few rich folks from Dragon Country, but you’d never be one of them!" Singer sneered at Ye Feng.

Ye Feng chuckled, "Oh? Since you’re so certain I don’t have money, why don’t we make a bet? If my card has more than fifty million, you crawl through beneath my guide’s legs. How about it?" Ye Feng asked, looking at Singer.

"Ridiculous! Even if you say so, there’s no way I would believe your card holds over fifty million!" Singer expressed with a sneer in his eyes.

"Since you’re so confident, answer me—do you dare to bet?" Ye Feng loudly challenged.

Singer nodded, "Why wouldn’t I dare? And if your card doesn’t have that much, all of you become my slaves, serving me for life. Is that a deal?"

"Sure!" Ye Feng agreed to Singer’s terms without the slightest hesitation.

The onlookers all gazed at Ye Feng with disdain, their eyes filled with doubt.

"A pathetic Dragon Country person, claiming to have fifty million, so laughable!"

"Those few from Dragon Country have some skills. Once they become Master Singer’s slaves, they’ll probably fetch a decent price in the arena," the crowd chattered, already imagining the scene where Ye Feng ends up as Singer’s slave, none of them believed he could come up with the money.

Ye Feng handed his card to the receptionist, "Swipe it!"

The receptionist took Ye Feng’s bank card with annoyance, swiped it on the reader, then irritably asked Ye Feng, "Enter your PIN!"

Ye Feng nodded, then entered his PIN. The receptionist clicked to check the balance with impatience.

Everyone was smirking, ready to watch Ye Feng make a fool of himself.

"No way!" At that moment, the receptionist couldn’t help but shout, her face turning extremely grim, her expression exaggerated. It seemed her entire face froze, mouth agape, eyes nearly popping out...
