Stepping out of the snow mountain, Lin Mo suddenly saw several tents set up beneath a huge boulder, surrounded by thick layers of white snow.
Several figures were busy beside the tents, apparently packing up.
"Eh, senior sister, isn't there someone walking towards us over there?" A girl with a ponytail suddenly exclaimed, blinking in surprise.
"Xiao Jun, that's a snow mountain. Who would dare to go there? How could there be someone?" Bai Xiaodong shook his head.
With furrowed brows, Zheng Zhijun insisted, "I am serious, there really is someone coming from over there."
Hearing her voice, the others busy packing the tents also looked over, then paused for a moment. Indeed, they saw a person walking towards them, but due to the blizzard, they couldn't make out the person's face clearly. It was evident, however, that the figure was male.
Li Yunfei paused her activity to wait for the figure to approach, and then she could see clearly: a casually dressed young man with long, fine black hair that covered his forehead, revealing a slightly pale and delicate face below.
The arrival was none other than Lin Mo!
Lin Mo's Divine Sense had already detected their presence, so he dispelled his Protective Shield, otherwise walking from Great Snow Mountain without a single snowflake on him would have seemed even more strange.
Even though his shoulders and the top of his head were covered with fine snowflakes, emerging from the deep snow mountain dressed in casual wear was still peculiar.
Li Yunfei, Zheng Zhijun, Bai Xiaodong, Professor Zhou, and Gu Yangming all furrowed their brows as they watched him.
"Hello, did you come from the snow mountain?" Li Yunfei stepped forward to greet him, looking somewhat surprised.
Lin Mo nodded his head, taking in their appearance and attire, which seemed like they were here for geological surveying in Kunlun Mountain.
"Mmm, I've been traveling by myself, got lost, and I've only just made it out," Lin Mo said casually.
Of course, no one believed his words. A snowy mountain is not just any ordinary peak. The fact that he was dressed so lightly, without any mountaineering gear, and could make it out of the snowy mountains on his own was a miracle.
Li Yunfei looked at Lin Mo, a sharp glint flashing deep in her eyes, albeit very covertly. She smiled and said, "My name is Li Yunfei. We're here for an exploration, but we just encountered an avalanche. We're planning to head back now. There's a car at the foot of the mountain. How about we give you a ride?"
Lin Mo intended to refuse, but there were wolves out there, and these people hadn't come across them just yet. A group of ordinary people would still be in danger when faced with packs of wolves. Considering this, Lin Mo decided to descend the mountain with them after all, since the beasts wouldn't dare show up with him around.
"My name is Lin Mo." Lin Mo extended his hand and shook hands with Li Yunfei.
"Are you hungry? I have some chocolate here," Li Yunfei offered, taking out a box of beautifully wrapped truffle chocolates from her backpack.
Lin Mo shook his head, "No need, thank you. I'm not hungry."
However, this scene was witnessed by Gu Yangming nearby. That chocolate was something he had begged Li Yunfei to accept, and she hadn't even eaten it but offered it to some unknown kid.
"Xiao Fei, we don't know him. Plus, the fact that he walked out of the Great Snow Mountain alone is suspicious. How can you let him come with us?" Gu Yangming approached Li Yunfei and spoke up.
But it seemed Gu Yangming didn't care about concealing his words or considering Lin Mo's feelings at all when he spoke.
"Senior Gu is right. We have no idea who he is. Letting him come with us, is it..." Bai Xiaodong chimed in, standing beside them.
Li Yunfei frowned slightly, "Gu Yangming, don't project your pettiness onto others!"
Gu Yangming clenched his teeth. He obviously couldn't get angry with Li Yunfei, but this only made him more resentful of Lin Mo.
Lin Mo said calmly, "I am descending the mountain with you to protect you."
"Like you could protect us?" Gu Yangming scoffed disdainfully.
After all, Lin Mo looked young and delicate, and he was talking about protecting them?
Bai Xiaodong snapped, "Our Senior Gu is a black belt in Taekwondo. What have you learnt, to speak so arrogantly?"
"I haven't learned anything. Taekwondo and the like are just fancy footwork and useless moves," Lin Mo replied indifferently.
Gu Yangming clenched his fists. To have his Taekwondo dismissed as just fancy footwork, especially in front of Li Yunfei, he had to show his 'magnanimity', but he glared at Lin Mo resentfully.
"Professor Zhou, is it okay if he comes down the mountain with us?" Li Yunfei sought Professor Zhou's opinion.
Professor Zhou seemed amiable and merely gazed deeply at Lin Mo before nodding, agreeing to it.
The group packed up their things and started the descent. Along the way, Zheng Zhijun and Li Yunfei were relatively close to Lin Mo, chatting together.
But it was mainly the two girls doing the talking while Lin Mo merely responded here and there.
Li Yunfei's gaze towards Lin Mo grew increasingly strange. Li Yunfei was recognized as the school beauty, and although she wasn't vain, hordes of guys pursued her relentlessly. Yet Lin Mo hardly spared her a glance during their entire journey, which made her feel even more convinced that Lin Mo was no ordinary person.
Seeing the two beautiful girls walking closely with Lin Mo, both Gu Yangming and Bai Xiaodong felt frustrated and helpless the entire way, thus unconsciously harboring resentment towards Lin Mo.
The group made their way down the mountain successfully, and sure enough, they found the SUV parked on the side of the road. They all got in and headed straight for the nearest town to rest.
