Chapter 618: Who is the Thief?

"Master Lin, I...I have something I want to tell you," Master Feng hesitated for a moment, then said with a bow.

Lin Mo glanced at him; he was eager to learn something about the Ghost Witch Sect. Last time, the Old Witch Master had escaped him. Though Lin Mo destroyed his physical body, forcing him to become a Ghost Cultivator, if he couldn't eradicate him completely, the Old Witch Master would inevitably threaten those close to him in the future.

Back at the hotel, Lin Mo sat on the sofa, while Master Feng, like a student somewhat anxious in front of his teacher, stood erect before him.

"Master Lin, the man you killed today at the Chu Family was named Xiu Hongyi, the direct disciple of Gongyang Zhi. If Gongyang Zhi learns of this, he will surely come after you," Master Feng started.

"Oh, and who is this Gongyang Zhi?" Lin Mo asked with a furrowed brow, curious.

An unhideable anger suddenly surfaced on Master Feng's face; his palms clenched slightly as he said:

"I don't know exactly where this Gongyang Zhi comes from, but a year ago he came to Bin Hai, and...and he kidnapped and violated my disciple Aliang. If it weren't for his overwhelming strength, I would have taken vengeance for Aliang."

As he spoke, Master Feng's eyes turned bloodshot, clearly filled with anger yet also feeling somewhat powerless.

Master Feng had never married in his life, but he had taken a female disciple named Aliang, who had followed him from a young age. Although their relationship was that of master and disciple, Master Feng had long regarded her as his own daughter.

But a year ago, when Gongyang Zhi came to Bin Hai, he noticed Aliang was a Mage and, beguiled by her beautiful appearance, he violated and then killed her.

However, Gongyang Zhi's strength was too formidable, far beyond what Master Feng could contend with, so he could only bury his hatred in his heart and dare not seek revenge on Gongyang Zhi.

Today, at the Chu Family, when he saw Xiu Hongyi, his aura was exactly like that of Gongyang Zhi; he was convinced Xiu Hongyi was Gongyang Zhi's disciple. It seemed Gongyang Zhi had already left Bin Hai, and it was he who had set up a scheme to let Xiu Hongyi wrap things up and earn ten billion from the Chu Family.

What he never anticipated was that Lin Mo would appear out of nowhere, ruining his plan and even slaying his disciple.

Thus, Master Feng had waited at the entrance of the Chu Family for Lin Mo to come out, hoping to rely on Lin Mo's strength to avenge his disciple Aliang.

Understanding the full story, Lin Mo slightly narrowed his eyes. So that was what had happened; if Gongyang Zhi dared to seek revenge, Lin Mo would destroy him with a single strike.

But he was no saint; just because Master Feng asked for his help didn't mean he was obliged to assist. He couldn't possibly attend to all the matters in the world.

"I sympathize with your situation, but I have no reason to help you," Lin Mo said with an indifferent expression.

Master Feng's body trembled, seemingly not having anticipated Lin Mo's rejection. After all, since Lin Mo had killed Xiu Hongyi, teaming up against Gongyang Zhi seemed like the best course of action.

Lin Mo paid no heed to what he might be thinking. As his hand flipped over, a black wooden box appeared in it, approximately two fingers wide and a laugh large, graced with a crystalline sheen, as if crafted from crystal—and sturdy in make, otherwise, how could it withstand the Heavenly Thunder summoned by Lin Mo?

Opening the box, a black ray of light suddenly burst forth, carrying a dazzling and ghostly hue.

A stunned Master Feng was also suddenly captivated by it.

Inside the box lay a petal the size of a fingernail, completely black.

From its center emanated a strange and bewitching fragrance.

"Third-grade Spiritual Medicine, the Mo Yu Flower."

Lin Mo was equally startled.

"Huaxia, indeed, there is still hidden forces and treasures," Lin Mo's eyes revealed a trace of excitement.

It is important to understand that Spiritual Medicine is not just any ordinary herb; without the support of an Array or the environment of a Blessed Cave, it cannot grow.

Moreover, the factions or Sects that can cultivate such Spiritual Medicine must have a particularly ancient heritage.

"It seems that my trip to the Chu Family wasn't fruitless after all, at least now I know of other Cultivation Sects in Huaxia. If I can integrate their resources, my breakthrough to the Innate Stage is within reach," Lin Mo thought to himself.

Master Feng, although unaware of what the Mo Yu Flower was, could still sense its surging medicine power, and that was just from one petal. If one were to consume the whole flower, perhaps even he could attempt to reach the Foundation Establishment Stage.

Lin Mo covered the box again, now somewhat tempted to find that Gongyang Zhi and take the whole Mo Yu Flower for himself, as Cultivation Resources were not easy to come by.

...

"Sister, look at the Purple Spirit Bead!"

Miao Zhu's face showed surprise as she spoke loudly.

A purple bead, the size of a marble, floated in the air, emitting a faint purple light that grew increasingly intense.

Seeing the Purple Spirit Bead act like this, Miao Xin frowned and said, "The person must be nearby; otherwise, the Purple Spirit Bead wouldn't be reacting so violently."

"Sister, isn't this a lucky break, finding what we've searched so hard for without any effort? It's unexpected that the thief would deliver himself to our doorstep," Miao Zhu said, clenching her white fist, a hint of coldness in her eyes, "If we catch him and take him back, we can also give an explanation to Master."

Miao Xin nodded, pinched a spell, and shot a white cold light onto the Purple Spirit Bead. The bead trembled and immediately flew out of the room.

"Follow it," Miao Xin immediately went after the Purple Spirit Bead.

Miao Zhu followed closely behind, and the two of them chased after the Purple Spirit Bead out of their hotel room, only to find that the Bead was vibrating in front of the door of another room.

"Isn't that the room of that person? Could it be that he stole our belongings?" Miao Zhu showed a slight surprise.

Miao Xin was also stunned. They had met the wandering rogue before; he was just an ordinary person, and the Purple Spirit Bead hadn't shown any unusual behavior at that time.

"No matter, Master has ordered us to retrieve what's ours," Miao Zhu said as she waved her hand, emitting a streak of green light that broke the door's lock.

Inside the room, Lin Mo and Master Feng, upon seeing Miao Zhu and Miao Xin appear at the doorway, couldn't help but be dumbfounded.

"Hand over our belongings, quickly," Miao Zhu demanded as she entered.

Miao Xin looked at Lin Mo and then at Master Feng. Could the thief they've been searching for be Master Feng?

"What belongings? You ladies have broken into someone's room; who stole your things?" Master Feng frowned, his face showing a hint of anger.

Although he was very humble in front of Lin Mo, being a Magic Master himself, he was not so polite to others.

"You stole our Snow God Palace's possessions and still refuse to admit it," Miao Zhu said with a face full of anger, suddenly pinching a spell, and a clear light like a knife cleaved towards Master Feng.
