The Chu Family's mansion is located in a bay area of Bin Hai, with the entire coastline dotted with independent villas, each with vast garden areas and ocean views, inhabited by the wealthy of Bin Hai and acclaimed as the "Royal Garden."
Among them, the most striking is the No. 1 villa of the Royal Garden.
Villa Number One stands as the most magnificent in the group, featuring a European garden style that evokes a grand and majestic aura. Inside, dozens of solemn-faced bodyguards dressed in black shirts and pants continuously safeguard the villa.
A fiery red Ferrari sped through the shaded road and screeched to a stop at the entrance. Sitting in the car, Chu Ruoyu's eyes held a hint of curiosity. Sneaking glances at the young man in the passenger seat all the way from the hotel, she drove not without speed, even wildly at times. A normal person would have turned pale with fear or rushed out to vomit, but Lin Mo remained unperturbed, seemingly unaffected.
Originally, this morning Chu Feiwan had asked her to pick up an "expert," and she was excited about it. However, upon arriving at the hotel and realizing that the "expert" was just a youngster, possibly even younger than herself, her anxiety had already begun to stir.
"Could it be that my dad was deceived by this guy? He doesn't seem like any kind of expert."
Therefore, Chu Ruoyu had deliberately driven very fast earlier, trying to test Lin Mo, but to her surprise, Lin Mo was unfazed.
Could this person actually be some sort of expert, or was he simply putting on an act? She knew that nowadays, these charlatans loved to deceive wealthy folks like herself and were top-notch "actors."
Although Chu Ruoyu harbored suspicions, since her grandfather was returning today and various branches of the family had invited people to treat him, her family ranked second, but her father held little status in the family. Even Chu Ruoyu herself was suppressed by her other siblings. Bringing back a faux "expert" would only serve as a joke for others to mock.
Yet now that they had arrived, Chu Ruoyu had no choice but to muster her courage, slam the car door, and say, "We've arrived, aren't you getting out?"
Lin Mo leisurely stepped out of the car, hands clasped behind him, a detached look sweeping across the villa, his expression as usual.
From the corner of her eye, Chu Ruoyu discreetly observed him. Most people, upon seeing such a lavish villa, would either show surprise or anxious nervousness, but Lin Mo's indifferent demeanor suggested he might be accustomed to entering such elite residences.
"Second Miss."
"Second Miss."
The guards in the villa recognized Chu Ruoyu and naturally did not obstruct their way. Lin Mo and Chu Ruoyu walked side by side toward the interior of the villa, followed by Bald Xie and others.
As soon as they entered the villa, they heard someone exclaim, "Ruoyu, why have you come back alone? Where is Uncle?"
The speaker was a young man in his early twenties, reasonably handsome but slightly thin, yet he exuded a confidence and defiance from within.
"My dad has gone to a different province for business and might return later. I came back first to visit Grandfather," Chu Ruoyu replied, frowning and with a chilly demeanor.
Clearly, she and the young man before her were not on good terms. The young man named Chu Yue was the son of Chu Lianghua, the third oldest in the Chu Family, and one of the top dandies in Bin Hai.
"My second uncle wouldn't have failed to find someone to help. Are you filling in because he feared Grandfather would be angry? But that makes sense, Grandfather really does play favorites with you, a blessing we don't share," Chu Yue said sarcastically.
Chu Ruoyu's pretty face tensed as he spoke, a hint of coldness appearing, "Chu Yue, stop with the sarcasm. I am, after all, your second sister."
"Second sister's lesson is noted, I'm really not good at speaking. If I've offended you, second sister, please bear with me," Chu Yue snorted coldly.
The Chu family, since Mr. Chu started his business and laid down this territory, had three sons and a daughter. The oldest son was primarily responsible for the Chu Family's businesses, commanding great respect within the family. The third son had a talent for business and was currently the chairman of the Bin Hai Business Association. As for the daughter, she had married into a prominent family in Central State and generally did not intervene in the family business.
The second son, Chu Feiwan, had delved into the underworld of Bin Hai. Although a prominent figure there, his line of work was not respected by the family, and even Mr. Chu did not favor Chu Feiwan.
However, strangely enough, Mr. Chu showed exceptional affection towards Chu Feiwan's daughter, Chu Ruoyu. This special affection sparked jealousy among the other grandchildren.
After finishing his statement, Chu Yue's gaze drifted towards the young man beside Chu Ruoyu, looking somewhat suspicious, "Hey, second sister, is this your boyfriend? When did you find a new boyfriend? I wonder from which prominent family he comes?"
"Chu Yue, if you keep talking nonsense, believe me, I will tear your mouth apart," Chu Ruoyu said, frowning. "He is a master invited by Dad. Be respectful."
Upon hearing Chu Ruoyu's words, Chu Yue was momentarily stunned, then burst into laughter as if he had heard a hilarious joke. This young-looking kid was a master invited by Chu Feiwan?
"Second uncle is really slacking off, isn't he?" Chu Yue shook his head. Currently, Mr. Chu was seriously ill and of advanced age, and his time could come at any moment. As for the vast estate of the Chu family, it would eventually be determined by Mr. Chu's will. Thus, every branch of the family, whether direct descendants or collateral lines, sought out so-called experts to try and treat Mr. Chu's illness, hoping to gain a final advantage.
As they spoke, a young man and a young woman approached from a distance, clad in bright, luxurious clothes.
"Big brother, little sister," Chu Yue greeted the newcomers, showing slight respect to the young man.
That young man was Chu Mo, the son of the oldest son of the Chu Family. The young woman, named Xue Pei, was Mr. Chu's granddaughter.
Chu Mo was tall and imposing, his suit fitting his robust physique perfectly, his back straight as an arrow, his gaze sharp and penetrating, obviously a man not to be underestimated, much stronger than Chu Yue.
Xue Pei, eighteen years old, had just been admitted to the University of Electronic Science and Technology as a freshman. Dressed in a mint-colored long dress, she was gentle and charming, providing a stark contrast to the fiery Chu Ruoyu.
"Second sister, third brother," Xue Pei greeted politely.
Chu Mo looked at Chu Ruoyu indifferently and smiled, "Ruoyu, everyone is waiting for you, Grandfather will be back soon."
"Yes, I know," Chu Ruoyu responded coolly.
Chu Mo's gaze swept over Lin Mo, revealing a trace of disdain, then he turned and walked towards the interior. However, after taking a few steps, he stopped, turned back, and said, "Ruoyu, if your second uncle really can't find an expert, let it be. But if you bring in a charlatan and Grandfather finds out, he will certainly become angry. I know he adores you, but don't abuse Grandfather's affection by acting recklessly."
