Chapter 332: Finding the Trace of His Beloved

Chapter 332: Finding the Trace of His Beloved

Scarlet crawled to Inez. She reached out and clutched her sister’s burned arm. Tears streaked her face, and she rumbled, "I will kill that bastard. As soon as I get out of here, I will kill him. Even if he hides in the pits of hell, I will find him and drag him to your feet, I swear I will!" for what that bastard did to Inez, Scarlet swore to bring his head to her sister’s feet. Once she was done with him, the man would beg for death.

Inez’s lips curved into a bitter, bloodstained smile. "Don’t be upset now. We will be getting out of here soon, and you can do whatever you want then."

"You are really optimistic," one of the prisoners chuckled as they glanced at Inez and Scarlet. His lips were curled into a vicious smirk. "Do you think that you can escape from this place? Those guards will break your legs before you can even take a step out of the cell. You’d better not even try to escape and accept your fate."

"Of course, if you serve Gilderoy well, then maybe he will give you some leverage. We will also get some entertainment, hahahaha!"

Scarlet made a violent move, but Inez caught her wrist and shook her head. They were in a dire situation themselves, and there was no point in trying to get into a fight with these men. They were rough and cruel. Fighting with these prisoners would only bring trouble. Anyway, they were only mocking her through their words; there was no harm done.

Two hours passed like this; the two sisters supported and helped one another as they sat in silence in the corner of the cell. Scarlet had no idea what Inez was planning, but she instinctively trusted her sister. She stayed quiet and waited for the right opportunity. Since Inez said that they would get a chance to escape, then certainly they would get an opportunity.

And it soon came.

Lisa came hurtling in from the patio; her expression was taut with worry as she hurried over to where her alpha was standing. She spoke in a low and controlled voice, and Killian, even with his enhanced hearing, couldn’t hear what she was telling him.

Neither can I, his beast spoke in his head as the two of them tried their best to hear what the woman was telling Dawson.

Dawson’s expression darkened before turning into neutrality. He turned to look at the two of them and smiled. "If you will excuse me, Alpha Sokolov. A small matter has arisen that needs my attention. Please enjoy the banquet; we will soon be starting our sacrifice ceremony. I promise that we will speak privately after we are done handling the matter."

Killian watched the man leave in a hurry. He glanced at Finn, who had crossed his arms and was staring at the guards, who seemed to have gotten even stricter with their guarding duty. He stated, "Something happened. Those guards have suddenly gotten even more vigilant."

Killian glanced at the guards who were patrolling even tightly. Their numbers had also increased. Why?

He turned and looked at the banquet hall and connected with Ajax and Laxus through the pack link.

Do you guys know what is going on?

I did find out something.... And I don’t think you are going to like it.

Nothing—wait, when did you hear something, Jax? And why didn’t you tell me?

Because I just heard it, dumbass, and not easily. I had to sacrifice all my dignity and flirt with a middle-aged woman before I could find what you would consider classified information.

Killian ran out of patience as he snapped. Just tell me what you know.

The two women who killed Lola are sisters.

What about them? Killian asked with a frown.

One of them is called Scarlet—don’t you think that it’s too much of a coincidence? And these people know the names of the two criminals—something that even you don’t know, Kill. I am willing to bet that they had some hand in whatever you will call this... Kill? Hello?

Killian’s blood froze. Scarlet— he knew that there were way too many women in this world with the name Scarlet, but he had a feeling that this was the Scarlet he knew. And if that woman was locked up in the dungeons of the council, then ...Fuck!

His beast growled. Inez.

Damn it. He should have connected the dots before. Inez went missing around the time when those two women were caught. As for how these people knew this classified information that even the council didn’t know ... there was only one explanation for that. They saw Inez and Scarlet before they were brought to the dungeon and thrown into the cell. Because even the council members didn’t know the names of the two women. What was this? Remy’s scheme to bring him down? But would that man sacrifice his mate for something like this?

Either way, whatever fuckery was going on, he was going to find out.

And as for Silver Dawn Pack. He narrowed his eyes... he knew that there was something wrong with this pack, but he never expected them to be this rotten.

Whatever their secret was, he was going to dig it out; he had expected that there were more political reasons for their weird actions rather than anything else, but now he had a feeling that there was more to what he could see. The pack was too small to cause any particular threat to anyone, but what if there was something that he couldn’t quite see?

They know where Inez is... and they are hiding it.. There is something wrong with them!

Did they already see through his weakness? But how could that be possible? Inez changed her look every day. No, there had to be something else.

Kill them; they tried to hurt our mate... kill every single one of them. His beast snarled in his head, his anger surging and mixing along with his own, creating a rage that Killian had never felt before. I want to see blood —Their blood.
