**Chapter 93: Guess Where I Am**
Instinctively, Zhang Chen leaped back over a dozen meters in retreat.
He raised his shield in front of him, activated the rocket pods, and braced for battle.
His eyes swept rapidly across the battlefield.
Three **Brute Titans** remained.
Seven or eight **Crawlers** leapt back and forth along the walls.
In the distance, a **Broodmother** was sluggishly making its way toward the fight—at its speed, the battle would be long over by the time it arrived.
*Wooooo... woooo...*
Amidst the endless howls and shrieks of the zombies, a high-pitched, piercing wail suddenly cut through the noise.
It sounded like a woman weeping, the sorrowful cry slithering straight into Zhang Chen’s ears.
The mech’s cockpit was supposed to be soundproof, but this noise seemed to penetrate **all barriers**, as if someone were sobbing right beside him.
The sound instantly reminded Zhang Chen of the vengeful ghosts from horror movies.
A chill ran down his spine, his hair standing on end.
*Where is it?! Where the hell is this thing?!*
He scanned the area frantically but found nothing.
Then, the **Crawlers** and **Brute Titans** launched another assault, disrupting his search.
*Fine, deal with these bastards first!*
*Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!*
Another volley of rockets streaked through the air, slamming into the zombies.
The **Crawlers** were blasted off their feet.
As the smoke cleared, three massive figures charged through the dust—
The **Brute Titans!**
The electromagnetic railgun was still cooling after two consecutive shots, but Zhang Chen had a plan.
Activating his jump jets, he soared straight over the **Brute Titans’** heads.
Mid-air, he twisted sideways, narrowly dodging a glob of green, parasite-filled sludge.
He landed directly behind the **Broodmother.**
But this time, the mech stumbled slightly on impact, its shoulder dipping as if it had nearly lost balance.
Without hesitation, Zhang Chen commanded the mech to grab the bloated green monstrosity with both hands and **hurl it** toward the **Brute Titans!**
*Squelch!*
As the **Broodmother** took flight, it spat one last glob of acid—
But missed entirely, the sludge splattering harmlessly on the ground.
A green, four-legged parasite worm wriggled free.
*Skree!*
Zhang Chen crushed it underfoot without a second thought, the mech’s sheer weight reducing it to paste.
Meanwhile, the airborne **Broodmother** reached the **Brute Titans.**
Zhang Chen opened fire with the heavy machine gun.
*Rat-tat-tat!*
*Pop!*
The **Broodmother’s** swollen abdomen exploded, drenching the **Brute Titans** in corrosive green fluid.
Its corpse dissolved into mist, but the acid eating into the titans’ flesh remained.
A series of notifications flashed beside each **Brute Titan:**
**[Brute Titan suffers corrosion damage: 5% tissue degradation...]**
**[Brute Titan suffers corrosion damage: 7% tissue degradation...]**
**[Brute Titan suffers corrosion damage: 3% tissue degradation...]**
**[Brute Titan has been eliminated...]**
The acid’s damage was **relentless**, burning through skin, muscle, and burrowing deeper.
Within moments, all three **Brute Titans** collapsed one after another, vanishing into white mist.
*Wooooo... woooo...*
The **Weeping Banshee’s** cries still lingered in Zhang Chen’s ears.
*What the hell?*
He had cleared the entire street of zombies.
Aside from the **Crawler** corpse crushed earlier by a **Brute Titan**, nothing unusual remained.
*Where is it hiding?!*
Then, another system hint appeared:
**[Are you sure you’ve searched everywhere? Including... yourself?]**
*Myself?*
Zhang Chen froze.
Slowly, he maneuvered the mech toward a clothing store’s display window.
The entrance’s glass was shattered, but this reinforced pane remained intact.
As the mech’s reflection appeared in the glass, Zhang Chen’s blood ran cold.
Perched on the mech’s left shoulder was a **female zombie.**
Pale, withered skin peeked through its tangled hair.
Disproportionately long claws had **pierced straight through the mech’s armor!**
Since no circuits were damaged, the system hadn’t flagged any malfunctions.
*This thing’s been riding on my shoulder crying this whole time?!*
*No wonder I couldn’t find it!*
A description materialized beside the **Weeping Banshee:**
**[Weeping Banshee: Possesses extreme speed and claws capable of shredding metal.]**
**[Erratic behavior—sometimes non-aggressive toward humans, other times violently hostile.]**
**[Warning: Its wails not only attract nearby zombies but also ENHANCE them, driving them into a frenzy!]**
*This thing’s behavior is seriously messed up.*
It was the first zombie Zhang Chen had encountered that just... sat there passively.
But its appearance alone was nightmare fuel.
Having this thing latched onto him was **not** a point of pride.
*Doesn’t matter how weird you act—if you’re not attacking me now, I’m striking first!*
Zhang Chen swung the mech’s alloy blade straight at the **Banshee’s** head.
*Swish!*
The creature dodged with inhuman speed, rolling off his shoulder and landing nimbly on the ground.
Its slender frame moved with terrifying agility—**far quicker than the Crawlers!**
*Rat-tat-tat!*
The heavy machine gun roared to life, bullets tearing through the air.
The **Banshee** scaled the building’s facade effortlessly, evading nearly every shot.
The few rounds that connected left only faint white marks—**its defenses rivaled the Brute Titans!**
*Fast as hell, tanky, and tiny—what a pain in the ass!*
Upon reaching the rooftop, the **Banshee** didn’t flee.
Instead, it hunched over, hands covering its face, its emaciated body trembling.
Then, that spine-chilling wail echoed once more.
*Wooooo... woooo...*
In the distance, the zombie horde surged forward again, emerging from the sea of flames.
But these zombies showed no signs of enhancement—they remained in their normal state.
*This cry isn’t the “scream” the hint mentioned. The Banshee’s just... crying by itself?*
It seemed to harbor no hostility toward Zhang Chen.
But he wasn’t about to let his guard down.
This was a **Type III Mutant—a threat on par with the Brute Titans!**
He still remembered his last brawl with a **Brute Titan**—if not for every advantage, even the mech might not have survived.
*Retreat for now. Deal with the second wave first!*
Just as he turned to intercept the horde—
*"Awooo~!"*
Second Chonk’s howl rang out from the direction of the bridge.
It was the call he used to summon allies.
**The battle at the bridge had begun.**
