Chapter 118: Chapter 118: Mason Quinn Spills the Beans as Mr. Jing Offers an Apology
"The little ancestor finally decided to come back."
Mason Quinn looked at Claire Green and Isabella Xyler as they walked in, then quipped.
Claire Green glanced at him lightly with her eyes, her voice leisurely, "Looks like you missed me quite a bit."
As soon as she finished speaking, Mason Quinn sprang up, turning his head to see Julian Sia glaring at him dangerously.
Oh crap, the little ancestor is trying to set me up.
Mason Quinn spoke hastily, "Yeah, not just me missing you, even George Xyler and Caleb Green were thinking about you every day."
He couldn’t bear the killing intent from Julian alone; as good brothers, they naturally had to share it together.
Upon hearing this.
Claire Green’s eyes squinted slightly, and her intriguing gaze swept across the group.
A chuckle escaped her red lips, "As expected of good brothers."
No hesitation at all when it comes to setting each other up.
Mason Quinn suppressed the pain in his arm, grinned, "Of course, you know we grew up wearing each other’s pants."
George Xyler, seeing him continue to talk, applied more pressure with his hand, staring at him with a sinister smile, "Really, I don’t remember that."
"Hiss—"
Mason Quinn couldn’t hold back anymore, baring his teeth in pain, he quickly retracted his arm, and continued to move aside until he found a safe spot, then hugged his arm and rubbed it vigorously.
"Damn, it wouldn’t kill you to be gentler!" he spat out a curse.
Was it necessary over just one sentence?
"Being gentle wouldn’t show my brotherly love for you," George Xyler scoffed as he looked at him, speaking indifferently.
Watching the two like this, Julian Sia’s thin lips curled into a subtle curve.
"Olivia, come over."
His tone was deep and strong, and the cold eyes were now dyed with warmth.
Claire Green raised an eyebrow and walked over to sit down, her eyes lazily looking at the man beside her, "Brother, is something up?"
Seeing the girl’s pupils full of him, Julian Sia’s lips visibly curved, as he lowered his head to put something on the girl’s wrist, his brows showing satisfaction.
Feeling the coldness on her wrist, Claire Green looked down, and a silver bracelet came into view, "Brother, what’s this?"
The girl’s aura was lazy, her dark and shiny pupils staring at the man with indefinable meaning.
"Compensation," Julian Sia coughed lightly, a hint of awkwardness flashing in his eyes.
Upon hearing this, Claire Green giggled softly, "Brother’s compensation is quite unique."
Something worth a house placed on her wrist.
Listening to their conversation, Mason Quinn couldn’t help but twitch his lips; only Julian could use something worth billions as compensation, which nobody else could do without a substantial family background.
At this point, Isabella Xyler, who had been dazed for a long time, finally snapped back.
She tossed her backpack aside, looking at Mason Quinn and the others speechlessly.
"What’s with you all hanging around Julian’s place every day,"
Anyone would think they had something going on, always hanging around as third wheels.
Mason Quinn looked like he was imparting wisdom, "Kids shouldn’t know too much."
"You talk like you’re all that," Isabella Xyler rolled her eyes.
Mason Quinn frowned slightly, feeling that there was something off about that comment.
...
"Olivia, can I call you this?"
At the dining table, Caleb Green, who had been silent since Claire Green entered, suddenly spoke.
His eyes looked hopeful at the girl, though his voice carried a cautious tone.
Claire Green paused her hand, speaking flatly, "As you like."
Just that one sentence made Caleb Green’s heart feel as sweet as if he had eaten candy, though her attitude was indifferent, at least she didn’t refuse, which was progress.
Happily, he placed a shrimp in Claire Green’s bowl.
For a moment, everyone’s gaze at the table was focused on the two of them.
Seeing the added shrimp in the bowl, Claire Green remained silent for a moment, just when Caleb Green thought she wouldn’t eat it, a low voice moved him.
Claire Green took a leisurely bite, "Thank you."
Watching the girl’s actions, Julian Sia’s eyes showed a hint of amusement; though he didn’t know why Olivia changed her attitude, it seemed quite nice.
Isabella Xyler nudged Mason Quinn beside her, whispering, "What’s happening, it feels strange to me."
"I’ll tell you later, it’s not the right time now."
Upon hearing that, Isabella Xyler’s gossip-minded soul began to stir, given Mason’s words, this is definitely something big.
"Olivia, the Nine Schools Joint Exam is starting, how do you plan to perform?"
Julian Sia’s eyes lifted, his clear magnetic voice filled with teasing.
The words had just fallen.
Mason Quinn and George Xyler’s shoulders shook greatly, bursting into laughter.
"Sorry, couldn’t hold back, carry on." Mason Quinn said with a smile.
Julian’s question was on point, while other parents asked their kids if they had confidence, he was different, running into someone who likes bold moves, he could only ask how she plans to perform.
Claire Green’s lips curled at one side, looking over indolently, "Brother knows me well."
Understanding her meaning, Julian Sia lightly raised his brows, speaking nonchalantly, "Since the last parent-teacher meeting, your homeroom teacher has been educating me in the parent group every day."
Thinking of that scene, Claire Green revealed a bright smile abruptly, she laughed softly, "Poor brother."
Even the head of the Sia Manor has days like these.
"Rest assured, this time the education will turn into praise."
Claire Green’s lazy voice was wrapped in joy.
Confused, Caleb Green watched everyone smile at the girl’s words and couldn’t help asking George, who was beside him.
"It’s just an exam, what are you laughing about?"
George Xyler, laughingly, explained Claire Green’s exam antics, "Now you understand."
Caleb Green was filled with shock, "Wow, a master at controlling scores."
No wonder Julian asked that.
...
"Mason, quickly tell me," Isabella Xyler just stepped out of Julian’s garden and pulled Mason, full of anticipation, ignoring the protagonist standing on the side.
Mason Quinn peeled her hand off helplessly, "Calm your excitement."
Isabella Xyler pouted and suppressed her excitement, "Now can you tell me!"
Mason Quinn glanced at Caleb Green, smiling as he revealed, "Claire Green and Caleb are siblings."
With those words.
Isabella Xyler staggered back two steps in shock, her ears had heard something big?
Olivia and Caleb being siblings, you’ve got to be kidding.
"Mason, that joke isn’t funny at all." Isabella Xyler remarked seriously, though she loved gossip, something like this was no laughing matter.
Mason Quinn shrugged, "I told you but you didn’t believe it, they really are siblings."
Isabella Xyler looked for confirmation to her brother, and upon seeing him nod, she finally believed.
"When did this happen, how come I didn’t know? Did they do a parentage test? Does Green Estate know?"
A string of questions bombarded out, the shock in her heart still unabated.
Olivia turned out to be the Green Estate’s daughter missing for seventeen years; even TV shows wouldn’t write it that way.
George Xyler tapped her on the head, "Where did you get so many questions, Caleb will naturally handle the parentage test, no need for you to worry blindly."
Rubbing her hit head, Isabella Xyler glared at him with almond eyes, "As her friend, I naturally need to care a bit."
Seeing the sibling bickering over this, Caleb Green couldn’t help but hold his forehead, how old were they to be acting like children.
"Bella, I know your concerns, don’t worry, she will be the most adored princess of Green Estate."
Caleb Green promised earnestly looking at the three of them.
Hearing his words, Isabella Xyler smiled brightly, though the threat in her words was unmistakably clear.
"Since Caleb says so, I’ll be looking forward to it; if anyone from Green Estate makes Olivia unhappy, remember our Xyler family isn’t easy to mess with."
She believed Caleb would do what he said, but that old woman from Green Estate, who leaned on her age and favored boys over girls, might not be as dependable.
"Alright." Caleb wasn’t angry at Isabella’s protective stance, instead, he was gratified.
"Hey, did you ask me before speaking for the Xyler family?" George Xyler looked at her indulgently; though teasing, his attitude was clear.
"Granddad said, even if you inherit the Xyler family, I am still in charge, your words don’t count."
Watching the two bicker ahead, Mason shook Caleb’s shoulder, "And Isabella Xyler, this girl, dares to take Julian’s role."
Such a simple statement yet revealed so much.
"Rest easy, let’s go." Caleb Green nodded with a smile.
