Chapter 184: Chapter 184: Sister Qi Explains, Lord Jing Bails Her Out
Charles Jordan finished speaking and didn’t dare look at the man’s expression. It seems Miss Green has a clash with police stations, ending up inside time and again.
Mason Quinn shared the same thought, lifting a hand to rub his forehead, "Claire Green seems determined to visit every police station. First in the Capital City, now in Bayne City."
"You talk too much," George Xyler warned, shooting him a glance. This guy hadn’t seen the sharp, icy eyes of Mr. Sia.
The man extinguished the cigarette in his hand, flicked the ashes, and rose with a commanding presence.
Watching the man’s back, George Xyler and the others hurried to follow.
"Charles Jordan," Caleb Green pulled him aside and quietly asked, "What on earth happened? Why did Claire suddenly end up in the police station?"
Charles first glanced at the man in front before speaking softly, "Miss Green had a conflict with someone. You’ll know more once you reach the station."
...
Inside the interrogation room, two policemen looked at the girl playing a game with displeased expressions, wanting to vent but having to hold back.
"This is a police station. Please cooperate with us."
The girl lifted her gaze from the screen, the corners of her mouth curving into a shallow arc. On a closer look, it held an inexplicable chill.
Her tone was rather nonchalant, "Aren’t I cooperating?"
As soon as she finished speaking.
The two policemen’s mouths twitched hard. Who cooperates by playing games, and isn’t your demeanor a bit too calm?
Suddenly.
The door opened, and Julian Sia entered expressionlessly.
"Miss Green, if you continue like this, it will be considered obstruction of justice, and you could end up imprisoned."
Upon hearing this.
Claire Green chuckled lazily, "It seems, Officer Sia, that your legal knowledge is not quite adept. To my understanding, obstruction of justice involves a witness, appraiser, recorder, or translator who, in a criminal proceeding, intentionally gives false testimony, appraisal, recording, or translation on matters critical to the case, intending to frame others or hide the crime evidence."
"May I ask which clause I’ve violated?"
She crossed her hands, the mischievous air evident at the corner of her eyes.
Hiss.
Wow, they just received a live legal lecture.
The two policemen looked at the girl in astonishment, full of incredulity.
Her speech had left Julian Sia momentarily at a loss. He had intended to scare her a bit, but who knew the girl actually knew the law!
After regaining his calm, he pursed his lips, "Since Miss Green knows so much, she should also be aware that assault is not a trivial matter."
"Assault," Claire Green’s voice was steady, "wasn’t it self-defense on my part?"
Julian Sia stumbled, looking at her as if she were talking nonsense.
Your self-defense was nearly murderous.
Seeing him like this, the two policemen beside couldn’t help but feel a bit sympathetic. After all, they’d been trying to interrogate her for half a day and felt they were on the verge of a heart attack.
"Officer Sia has time to discuss legal knowledge with me, better check out that pig, it might surprise you."
Claire Green’s voice was lazy yet hoarse, her delicate brows seemed to be covered with a thin edge.
She had discovered something interesting on the way here.
Upon hearing this, Julian Sia frowned, glanced at the people beside him, and instructed, "Go check it out."
"Miss Green doesn’t seem worried at all about herself."
He pulled a chair over to sit down, looking at the girl in front who had resumed playing her game, speaking with unclear meaning.
Working in the police station for so many years, he’d seen quite a few people, but never someone like Claire Green who treated entering the station like returning home, either asking someone to make tea or playing a game.
"If I’m not breaking the law, what’s there to worry about," Claire Green said lazily, "but it seems Officer Sia is a bit too idle."
Understanding her underlying meaning, Julian Sia felt like a breath was stuck in his throat, neither going up nor down.
He must have been out of his mind to ask her.
"Officer Zhang, Director Liu is here."
The interrogation room door opened, and the entrant glanced at the girl before speaking.
What’s Director Liu doing here at this time?
Julian Sia nodded, walking out with confusion.
...
"Mr. Sia, this surely is a misunderstanding, wait until Officer Zhang comes over, I’ll ask him."
Director Liu wiped the sweat on his forehead, respectfully looking at the man on the sofa.
Out of the corner of his eye, he glanced at the group beside him, internally shocked.
What kind of big shot did their police station catch to warrant such heavyweights to come personally?
Soon.
Julian Sia appeared in the group’s view, pausing for two seconds upon seeing those on the sofa, then asked, "Director Liu, what’s the matter?"
"Did you bring a young girl here today?"
Upon hearing this, Julian Sia immediately understood; these people must have come to fetch Claire Green.
"Yes, Xu Wei and the others are interrogating..."
He didn’t finish before being interrupted.
"Interrogating."
The man’s voice was deep and magnetic. His casually sweeping gaze landed on her as if casually echoing.
But the surrounding pressure, like a sharp blade, stabbed directly into Julian Sia, making him feel a chill.
"Not an interrogation... just... a talk..."
Julian Sia felt his back turn cold, immediately overturning what he’d said a moment ago, barely managing an answer.
Standing beside, Director Liu was also on edge. Upon hearing, he quickly said, "Is the questioning done? Quickly bring Miss Green out."
Just at this time.
George Xyler stopped him, "Since Officer Zhang said it’s just questioning, as law-abiding citizens, we naturally have to comply," he paused, "just not sure what offense she committed to be brought to the station."
Julian Sia swallowed hard, sending someone to fetch the surveillance footage.
George Xyler and the others watched the footage of the girl’s fierce methods, feeling an inexplicable sense of familiarity.
After a while.
Mason Quinn finally exhaled, "Isn’t this just another Mr. Sia?"
With his reminder, George Xyler and Caleb Green finally understood why it seemed familiar. It resembled Mr. Sia’s level of severity entirely.
So is this what they mean by not being family until you enter the same door?
"Where’s Claire?" The man’s gaze shifted from the video, his icy eyes landing on the person looking.
"I’ll take you there."
Julian Sia turned to walk in front, and upon close inspection, his legs seemed to tremble slightly.
...
Julian Sia and his group arrived at the door of the interrogation room, seeing the girl sitting there leisurely, with occasional game sound effects coming from her phone.
"Tsk tsk, no wonder Officer Zhang said it was questioning, looking at our Boss Green, who would think she’s being interrogated," Mason Quinn quipped.
Hearing the commotion, Claire Green’s fingers paused, then she slowly lifted her head two seconds later.
"Brother, good evening."
Her voice was casual but carried a hint of guilt that the others could detect.
"Quite late indeed, seems Claire is enjoying herself at the station."
The man raised an eyebrow, speaking unhurriedly.
Yet the coldness in his eyes hadn’t lessened.
Seeing the man like this, Claire Green knew he was angry and was suddenly at a loss.
She pressed her lips together without speaking.
The two just stared at each other, the atmosphere tense and strange.
After a while.
Julian Sia sighed, walked up and held the girl’s wrist, his hoarse voice tinged with fondness.
"Looks like I can’t leave Claire alone anymore."
His girl clearly had a fierce streak but would become sensitive and at a loss when facing him. But how could he ever truly be angry?
The atmosphere instantly warmed. Mason Quinn and the others breathed a sigh of relief, just now they were truly afraid these two would start a fight, not knowing whom to help without offending the other.
