Chapter 147: Chapter 147: Qijie: Name Your Terms, the Zheng Family Is in Trouble
Andrew James paid no more attention to his group of sarcastic friends, directly speaking to the girl, "Olivia, I’ll have someone send over the transfer proof in a bit."
After all, he didn’t really care about this building, and it was worth it if it could make Olivia happy.
Claire Green responded nonchalantly, "What I said before still holds, you can name any condition you want."
Andrew James was momentarily stunned, not expecting Olivia to say that even though he lost.
For a while.
He scratched the back of his head and chuckled, "Then I won’t be polite, but I haven’t decided yet. I’ll tell you when I think of something."
"Okay."
"Andrew, you’re something else, trading an office building for Olivia’s promise—what a bargain," exclaimed his friend Jealousy Year.
After all, Olivia had said any condition was on the table, so whether Andrew wanted the office building back or something else, it was all possible.
Besides, if Olivia didn’t have what was needed, Julian would surely step in.
Scoring a promise in exchange for a horse race—he really hit the jackpot.
What he could think of, Andrew James had already thought of, so he planned to transfer another house later.
"Hey, Claire, when are we going to racehorses ourselves?"
Julian Sia leaned in and whispered lowly in the girl’s ear.
The meaning in his words was self-evident.
Claire Green’s eyes paused, lazily looking over, speaking leisurely, "That depends on whether your bet can pique my interest."
It’s not an easy task to trade for her terms.
Who would have thought.
The man’s next sentence left her bewildered.
"How about me?"
Julian Sia stared at the girl, speaking with a smile without turning red or losing breath.
The man’s magnetic tone was straightforward and flamboyant.
After a moment.
Claire Green replied nonchalantly, "You recommend yourself as a pillow companion."
This man had been getting bolder and now was even flirting at horse races.
"The old man has already given you the household registry. It doesn’t make sense without a title,"
Julian Sia took her hand and leisurely walked away from the racetrack, leaving behind Mason Quinn and the others looking dumbfounded.
What did they just hear?
Where did your aloofness go, Lord Julian? How could you recommend yourself?
Isabella Xyler alone blushed, staring at the backs of the departing couple. The CP I ship is just too sweet, and they won’t break apart.
But Julian did remind her. Since Olivia now has the household registry, she could just bring over a marriage bureau, and they could get married on the spot.
John Sinclair saw Isabella’s face change richly with emotion and couldn’t help but speak, "What are you thinking about in broad daylight, your face is as red as an apple."
Hearing the voice, Isabella reflexively answered, "Thinking about Olivia and Julian getting married."
Until she finished speaking, she realized what she said, immediately trying to cover it up awkwardly, "I wasn’t thinking about anything."
The others all rolled their eyes, looking at her with expressions that said, "Do you think we believe that?"
Seeing this, Isabella didn’t bother to hide it, "You guys don’t understand the joy of shipping CPs. Whenever I see Julian and Olivia interact, all I can think is they should get married right there."
Just as she finished speaking,
John Sinclair poked her head, "I think you’re not thinking straight."
Olivia’s just so young, and here you are hoping she’d get married. Besides, you can’t get married if you’re not of legal age.
And Olivia’s supposed to lead us to farther places, how can she get married so early?
"That’s why I said you don’t get it,"
Isabella shot them a you-don’t-understand-enjoyment look and joyfully raced ahead.
And faintly, they could still hear her happily shouting, "Olivia, Lord Julian, wait for me, I’m going to bring the marriage bureau over."
Mason Quinn and the others exchanged glances, seeing exasperation in each other’s eyes.
"I remember Bella didn’t use to be like this before," Daniel Clarke rubbed his chin, speaking a bit helplessly.
"Indeed, ever since she met Claire Green, she’s been like an unbridled wild horse,"
Mason Quinn nodded in agreement, "George Xyler, I think Bella needs a lesson in love."
George Xyler scoffed coldly, "I think you need another beat down from love."
As those words fell,
Mason Quinn immediately jumped away from him, dropped a line, and ran off.
"Forget I said anything."
...
Green Manor.
Madeline Ziegler sat on the sofa, with dark circles under her eyes and bloodshot eyes.
Ever since Julian Sia said those words last night, she had been tossing and turning, unable to sleep, keeping an eye on her phone, fearing any bad news would come through.
But after waiting a whole night with no movement, her heart grew more anxious.
Julian was someone she watched grow up, and he was decisive. Once he said something, he would not easily back down.
Just as Madeline Ziegler was deep in thought, a sudden urgent ringtone shattered her thoughts and brought her back to reality.
Seeing the caller, her heart immediately felt uneasy, with trembling old fingers pressing down.
As soon as she answered, an anxious voice from the other side quickly burst out, "Sister, you have to think of a way. Early this morning, all the companies we are partnered with sent people to terminate contracts.
Several projects just started, and now with sudden contract terminations, the entirety of the funds has been cut off."
Upon hearing this, Madeline Ziegler’s vision went black, "What...what did you say?"
"Sister, without funds, the projects can’t proceed, the money we invested in the Ziegler family would be all gone, and if no one takes over now, the Ziegler family is in jeopardy."
The middle-aged man on the other side was speaking with a panicked expression, analyzing the pros and cons anxiously.
Madeline Ziegler, holding the phone, was at a loss. She couldn’t have imagined Julian Sia would actually target the Ziegler family for some nobody girl.
"Don’t panic, I’ll think of something."
Just as she said that, a somewhat angry voice came from the man.
"How can we not be anxious? I heard it was Lord Julian who made the call, so those people don’t dare offend him and had to come and cancel contracts."
Suddenly.
Bright lights flickered in the man’s eyes, "Sister, let the Green Estate take over, our two families cooperating means we don’t have to fear Lord Julian."
Upon hearing this, Madeline Ziegler frowned, deep in thought.
As the man on the other end grew impatient waiting, she finally said, "Alright, I’ll discuss it with Caleb."
Upon getting the response, the man’s anxious expression faded instantly, a look of smugness in his eyes, "Then I’ll wait for your news, sister, don’t forget you’re a Ziegler, and I’m your brother, you can’t ignore me."
After issuing this veiled threat, the man hung up directly.
When Caleb Green arrived home, he saw his grandmother holding the phone, looking blankly, which made him frown.
"Grandma, if you’re not feeling well, let a doctor come and have a look."
After saying this lightly, he intended to go upstairs.
Unexpectedly,
The old lady suddenly stepped forward to block him and directly commanded, "The Ziegler family is having funding issues with their projects, have the Green Corporation resolve it."
Hearing this,
Caleb Green’s eyes grew cold, and he looked at the person before him with a slightly sarcastic tone, "Grandma, you are aware that the person behind the Ziegler family’s predicament is Lord Julian. You want me to offend him for the Ziegler family? What are you thinking?"
Hearing his repeated mentioning of the Ziegler family, Madeline Ziegler angrily reprimanded him, "That’s your uncle. You have familial ties, so today, whether you want to or not, you have to help."
Damn it.
If not for having a brother-supporting sister, what would the Ziegler family even be?
Caleb Green’s expression turned cold, "Grandma, ever since you married into our family, the Ziegler family’s status has soared. Now it’s Lord Julian and others who want to target them. If you really care for your brother, it would be more effective to plead with Lord Julian than come to me."
He finished speaking.
He walked right past Madeline Ziegler and went upstairs. Midway, he suddenly stopped again and spoke without turning back.
"However, even going to Lord Julian won’t help; the Ziegler family prospered because of you, and they will fall because of you. Some might think you’re deliberately betraying your brother."
Charles Jordan is already investigating the events from seventeen years ago. If it turns out as he suspects, he won’t spare anyone from the Ziegler family.
Caleb Green’s deep gaze flashed momentarily.
Hearing the crashing sound and furious yelling behind him, he smirked.
"Caleb Green, you’re quite the good grandson."
