"You are Du Shou Wu Chang?" Ye Tian asked.
The man in black turned around. He had a long, thin face and icy eyes. "I am," he replied.
"You want to kill Yue Qingning?"
"That's right," the man in black said.
"I've been entrusted to protect Yue Qingning," Ye Tian stated calmly.
"Just one more person to kill, that's nothing," the man in black replied indifferently.
"Then I apologize, I can only kill you."
Du Shou Wu Chang chuckled. "Judging by your age, you must be in your early twenties. Even if you started cultivating in the womb, how many years could you have trained? I, on the other hand, have been cultivating my 'You Sha Yin Gong' for thirty-five years."
"Your trash cultivation method will only ever get you this far. I'm too lazy to waste my breath on you. You have two options: leave immediately, and I'll let you go this once; or I'll beat you to death, and it'll be over."
Du Shou Wu Chang let out a sinister laugh and suddenly pushed a palm forward, light as a feather. A gust of chilling wind blew, piercingly cold, accompanied by faint sounds of wailing.
Ye Tian was enveloped in a protective layer of Qi. The chilling wind did not affect him in the slightest. Instead, he stepped forward, his face almost touching Du Shou Wu Chang's.
Du Shou Wu Chang's eyes widened in alarm, and he instinctively retreated. But as he took half a step back, Ye Tian's foot landed on his.
"Boom!"
The floor vibrated, and Du Shou Wu Chang let out a scream as half of his foot was crushed. He immediately lost his balance.
Ye Tian's second strike followed, a punch to his chest. Du Shou Wu Chang, like a kite with a broken string, plummeted from the rooftop, crashing heavily onto the concrete ground below.
Ye Tian landed gracefully. Du Shou Wu Chang lay there, his face deathly pale, severely injured, barely breathing.
He widened his eyes and gasped, "You are a Wu Wang!"
"Your killing intent is too heavy, filled with malevolence, causing you to lose even basic observational skills. If you weren't so foolish, you wouldn't have dared to attack me."
Only then did he allow Yue Qingning and the others to get out of the car. Yue Qingning sighed softly as she saw the severely injured Du Shou Wu Chang.
Yang Shoucheng, with a blank expression, immediately called the police. Soon, a team of officers arrived. After a brief exchange with Yang Shoucheng, they took the man away.
On the way to the hospital, Du Shou Wu Chang died. The police concluded that he died from a fall after a home invasion, his chest impact with a hard object being the cause of death.
The group returned to the living room. Yang Shoucheng said, "Little brother, thank you!"
"It was nothing," Ye Tian replied.
Yang Shoucheng turned to Yue Qingning. "Qingning, now your rival won't be able to sleep!"
Yue Qingning nodded and made a phone call.
The person on the other end was shocked to hear Yue Qingning's voice. "You're alright?"
"The person you sent is dead. Liu Jinhai, it's my turn to counterattack. Prepare your coffin!"
With that, she hung up.
Yang Shoucheng asked, "Qingning, what do you think Liu Jinhai will do?"
Yue Qingning sneered. "Liu Jinhai is a cautious and cowardly man. He'll definitely flee tonight and find a place to live under a false identity."
"That's true. If I were him, I'd be on edge too. After all, even Du Shou Wu Chang is dead, which means you have a more powerful expert assisting you."
Yang Shoucheng arranged for some food and drinks, suggesting they have another drink that evening. Ye Tian did not refuse.
At midnight, Yang Shoucheng said with a smile, "Brother, have you heard of the Ghost Market?"
"Ghost Market? I've seen it on television," Ye Tian replied.
"Actually, there's a Ghost Market in the provincial capital. You can buy many things there. Shall we go take a look later?" Yang Shoucheng asked.
Ye Tian thought for a moment. "Alright, it'll be an eye-opener."
Yang Shoucheng called for the driver, and the two headed to the Ghost Market.
The provincial capital's Ghost Market did not have a fixed location. This time, it was set up at a tourist attraction, Qiansong Lake.
Qiansong Lake was known for its many ancient pine trees, beautiful scenery, and numerous ancient buildings, the most famous being a temple.
As the two arrived at the entrance of the Qiansong Lake scenic area, they saw over a thousand people gathered outside the gate, a vast, lively crowd.
After getting out of the car, Yang Shoucheng said in a low voice, "The Ghost Market doesn't start until one o'clock. We still have to wait a bit."
