Chapter 917 Seeking Clues

Hua Qingcheng's beautiful eyes widened, "Can I still live to be a hundred?"

Ye Tian smiled, "A hundred years is the worst outcome. If you cultivate successfully, living for several hundred years won't be a problem."

Hua Qingcheng pursed her lips and smiled, "Then I won't turn into an old hag?"

Ye Tian: "Let's go to your maternal grandmother's old house tomorrow, maybe we can find some clues."

"Brother Ye Tian, what clues are you looking for?"

Ye Tian: "This White Bone Token isn't that simple. I think there should be something else."

Hua Qingcheng nodded, "Okay, we'll look for it together tomorrow."

Ye Tian felt the floor mat was too cold, so he decided to rest on the bed with Hua Qingcheng. They chatted until the latter half of the night before she fell asleep.

The next day, the two washed up and went out for breakfast.

Hua Fengchun smiled, "Little Ye, I still have business matters to attend to. Let Chengcheng and her mother accompany you."

Ye Tian: "Okay, Uncle."

After breakfast, Ye Tian drove one of the Hua family's business cars towards Tian Li's maiden home.

Tian Li's maiden home used to be in the eastern suburbs outside the city, but the city's rapid expansion later turned it into a residential area. The Tian family's old house was demolished, and they were allocated five apartments, two large and three small.

However, Tian Li's father did not receive any of these three apartments; they were given to his children from his second marriage.

Tian Li's father was named Tian Guangyun. Tian Guangyun had not paid much attention to his daughter. Tian Li grew up with the help of several relatives before getting married and having a daughter.

Tian Guangyun's second wife was seven years younger than him, surnamed Huang, and named Huang Zhihong. Huang Zhihong had two sons with Tian Guangyun, both of whom were now married and established. Of the five apartments, each son received two, and the couple lived in one.

The car stopped at the entrance of the Tian family's residential area. Tian Li dialed Tian Guangyun's phone number. When the call was connected, a woman's voice came through. This was the usual practice; whenever Tian Li called her father, Huang Zhihong would always answer. She was probably worried that father and daughter might say things she didn't know, so she always answered on her husband's behalf.

"Aunt Huang, I've brought my daughter to see my dad."

The other party's tone was very indifferent, "Your dad isn't home, come back another day."

Hua Qingcheng took the phone and said, "Ms. Huang, I bought a lot of gifts for Grandpa. Can we leave the things here?"

Upon hearing about the gifts, Ms. Huang immediately changed her mind and said, "Alright then, I'll have the security guard open the gate for you."

A moment later, the garage door opened, and Ye Tian drove the car in.

As the car approached a parking spot, an old man in his seventies stood nearby. Seeing Tian Li, he smiled, "Xiao Li, you're here?"

Tian Li's face was cold, "Didn't she say you weren't home?"

The old man was Tian Li's father, Tian Guangyun. He grinned, "You know her. She restricts me all day, I can't even answer a phone call."

Tian Li: "You brought this upon yourself." She opened the car's tailgate and took out some gifts, all carefully selected. Although she didn't visit often, he was still her biological father.

Tian Guangyun waved his hand, "I don't want the gifts. Take them back to your in-laws."

Hua Qingcheng: "Grandpa, you probably know the reason why Grandma passed away, right?"

The old man's expression stiffened slightly. He reached out to feel around, took out a flat cigarette case, took out the only cigarette, and lit it.

Everyone was patient and waited quietly.

After lighting the cigarette and taking a puff, the old man said faintly, "It seems you know everything."

Ye Tian: "Old man, I am Ye Tian, Qingcheng's boyfriend. I am looking for a way to break that curse, so I need to ask you some questions."

The old man looked at Ye Tian, "Can you save Qingcheng?"

Ye Tian nodded, "But I need clues."

The old man said, "There isn't much left by Xiao Li's mother. I've kept it all well, stored in the basement. Follow me."

Tian Guangyun led them to a basement storage room. His house had two basement storage rooms; the extra one was bought secretly, with the intention of storing his deceased wife's belongings. Huang Zhihong didn't even know about this.
