Chapter 567 The Primeval Forest

"Anything else?" Ye Tian asked.

Ren Ping replied, "We also discovered a cave. The cave is about one and a half meters in diameter and bottomless. We sent a reconnaissance robot in to take pictures, but whenever the depth exceeded one hundred meters, the robot would malfunction. We tried more than ten times, and it was the same every time. Later, we put a wild boar into it, but after a few meters, the boar seemed to discover something terrifying and desperately tried to run out."

He paused. "Finally, two experts were sent from above. Their expressions changed when they saw the cave entrance. After a brief discussion, they instructed me to seal the cave and keep it a secret, not to tell anyone."

Ye Tian responded, "So, this cave is very dangerous, and even those two experts dared not enter to explore it. Old Ren, why did you still show me the photos?"

Ren Ping said, "It's a matter of confidentiality, I can't say more, but you can investigate it yourself. From the snippets of conversation between those two, I know there are treasures in the cave, but also danger."

Ye Tian declared, "We'll only know what's there when we go. Prepare the plane, we need to act as soon as possible."

Ren Ping confirmed, "The plane is ready, just waiting for you."

Half an hour later, a plane flew towards the southwest.

Ye Tian had developed a habit of meditating and cultivating while on the plane, as the effects of practicing at high altitudes were significantly better than on the ground.

After about ten hours, the plane landed at a military airport in a border town. After disembarking, the group boarded a vehicle and drove towards the primeval forest.

Another hour later, Ye Tian finally saw the forest. There were no roads in the forest, and they would have to proceed on foot.

Everyone changed into professional hiking gear, and Ye Tian was no exception.

The group of twelve entered the primeval forest. The subtropical forest was far more complex than that of Siberia, with countless insects, rodents, and snakes appearing, making it full of danger.

Ye Tian and Ren Ping walked at the forefront. After walking for more than two hours, it was completely dark, and they had to set up camp to rest there.

This was a relatively open clearing. They set up tents, but the air inside was stuffy, and they soon broke out in a sweat.

Around ten o'clock, Ye Tian ate something and said to Ren Ping, "Old Ren, I'll go scout ahead. You guys stay put and don't wander off."

Ren Ping replied, "Okay, be careful."

Ye Tian was a Human Immortal, so Ren Ping had no worries about his safety. If there were any dangers, it would be the things that encountered Ye Tian that would be in danger.

Ye Tian's eyesight allowed him to see in the dark. After reaching the Human Immortal realm, all of a person's abilities would evolve, including their eyes.

He moved through the forest silently. According to the information, they would reach the sealed cave after traveling another seventy miles or so.

A shadow darted between the trees, as if flying. In about half an hour, Ye Tian arrived near the destination.

At this moment, he sensed people ahead, so he slowed down and listened carefully. The people were speaking in Japanese. Although he couldn't understand it, he could memorize it.

After listening for a while, he retreated to a distance, then recited the conversation and sent it to Ren Ping, who was seventy miles away.

Ren Ping had a translator with him, who quickly translated the content for Ye Tian. The general gist was that one of them, the leader, told someone named Qing Tian that the things in the cave were too dangerous, and they would have to sacrifice a few people to possibly retrieve them.

Qing Tian said that he would be the third person to descend into the cave and would try his best to retrieve the item.

From their conversation, Ye Tian also learned that the item they were looking for was called the 'Evil Pill,' and it was located within the cave.

He then returned to the scene and saw dozens of people also setting up tents. In one of the tents, a young man under thirty was sitting, with three people kneeling before him.

From their expressions, Ye Tian knew that these three were likely the unfortunate souls who would be sacrificed by descending into the cave.

The young man spoke at length in Japanese. The three people became emotional, with tears in their eyes, and they shouted something loudly while kneeling on the ground.

Ye Tian curled his lips, thinking that this scoundrel was quite good at fooling people. However, this was a matter for the Japanese, and he was too lazy to interfere, so he continued to watch the spectacle.
