Chapter 264 Malicious Slander

The military-grade mecha pilot rating system is divided into seven levels: Low-level, Mid-level, High-level, Elite, Super Elite, Master, and Legendary.

Each major level is further divided into three sub-levels: 1, 2, and 3.

"Each major level has corresponding advancement standards, not too difficult," Gu Ya murmured.

To advance from Mid-level to High-level, one only needs to pass the High-level Mecha Pilot assessment, achieve the required operational proficiency, and accumulate 800 hours of flight time. This was simple for Gu Ya.

However, for ordinary mecha pilots, surviving 800 hours on the battlefield was quite difficult.

In large group army operations, sometimes a portion of mechas would be sacrificed to achieve strategic victory.

If one was unfortunate enough to become cannon fodder, and lacked superior personal skills, their only fate was death.

Advancing from High-level to Elite was even more arduous.

Not only did one need to reach the operational level of Elite Mecha Pilot Level 1, but there were also very stringent advancement conditions.

Elite Level 1 Mecha Pilot:

Control Panel Operation Speed (Max): 120 times/minute, Accuracy 95%, Mecha Action Execution Accuracy 95%.

Control Stick Operation Speed (Max): 360, Accuracy 95%, Mecha Action Execution Accuracy 90%.

Reaction Test Score: 800.

Crisis Response Ability Test Score: Passing score of 800.

Physical Fitness: Able to operate a mecha continuously for 7 hours.

Theoretical: Elite Mecha Pilot assessment, interview.

Mecha Skill Moves: 2.

Advancement Condition 1: High-level 3 foundation, 2 years or more of military service, participated in five or more battles with 500 mechas, and a total of 120 enemy mechas destroyed in their combat career. Only then can they qualify for the rigorous and difficult Elite Mecha Pilot assessment. The conditions for participating in the assessment are not harsh; the real difficulty lies in the exam itself. This exam alone can obstruct the vast majority of mecha pilots.

Advancement Condition 2: High-level 3 foundation, 5 years or more of military service, participated in twenty or more battles with 500 mechas, and a total of 2000 enemy mechas destroyed in their combat career.

Advancement Condition 3: In a single battle, personally destroy 20 or more enemy mechas, and have achieved this condition in a total of five battles.

Advancement Condition 4: In a single battle, personally destroy 2 or more high-threat enemy mechas or 1 super-high-threat enemy mecha. And have achieved this condition in a total of five battles.

It should be noted that high-threat enemy mechas are equivalent to Elite-level, and super-high-threat mechas are equivalent to Elite Level 3 or Super Elite Level 1. Conditions two, three, and four are specifically designed for veterans with extensive combat experience. As long as one has served in the military for more than 5 years, their past achievements are automatically recorded and cannot be wasted.

Generally, among tens of thousands of ground soldiers and thousands of mecha pilots in a sub-zone of a major war zone, no more than 200 people, approximately a one-in-ten chance, are promoted to Elite Mecha Pilot.

Cadets from the Xian Guo Defense Academy generally meet the first condition upon entry and graduate as Elite Level 1 Mecha Pilots.

Experienced veteran mecha pilots are highly sought after in war zones and are not easily released for two years of study. If they are released, it’s uncertain which war zone they will be assigned to after graduation. No one wants to hand over their cultivated elites to others.

It appears that for an ordinary mecha pilot to advance to Elite level, they must possess extraordinary talent, be exceptionally diligent, and have a bit of good luck to succeed.

Relying on accumulating combat merits for promotion is clearly irrational. Fate is truly unpredictable; one could be lost any day.

Mecha pilots who survive and rise through the ranks on the battlefield have all climbed step by step over the corpses of comrades and enemies.

Even if one becomes an Elite Mecha Pilot, there are always stronger individuals.

To survive in war, one must be ruthless, both to enemies and to oneself, and continuously improve their piloting skills.

Gu Ya pondered, then walked into the classroom with an air of superiority and settled into his seat.

Class had not yet begun, and everyone was still engrossed in debates about their rankings. The previously bustling atmosphere instantly quieted down as Gu Ya entered.

His cold and arrogant tone during the communication, and his final insult of "a bunch of idiots," had been heard by his classmates.

A few bold male students crowded around him, their expressions ranging from displeasure to anger.

One of the leading males said in a low voice, "Gu Ya, we are classmates. We kindly want to be friends. Isn't it better for us to know each other well? Don't you owe us an explanation for cursing?"

Another male said, "So what if you're an Elite Level 1 Mecha Pilot? You just served two years in the army, killed a few enemies, and passed the test. What's there to be arrogant about?"

Gu Ya raised his hand to stop them and said coldly, "I advise you not to court death."

Gu Ya indeed possessed such capability. When he was killing, these young men were still engaged in their trivial academic lives.

"Huh? Court death? Who are you talking about?"

"It's one thing if you insult us, but what's your attitude towards Ning Shushu? And you bullied Ning Shushu on the first day of school. Even if Zhuzhu doesn't hold a grudge, we do."

"Gu Ya, your character is flawed! I heard you tell Leng Yun to take off her jacket in the corridor!" a female student stood up and shouted.

Leng Yun, sitting in the corner, looked dejected, watching her classmates confront Gu Ya with boredom, saying nothing.

Well, now all the male students in the class were displeased, and even a few female students stood up righteously, glaring at Gu Ya.

The leading male grabbed Gu Ya by the collar, yanked him out of his seat, and glared, "Gu Ya, either come with us to see the homeroom teacher, or fight us all. Meet us at the training ground after class. Whoever doesn't come is a coward."

Just then, Professor Lü hurried into the classroom, barely averting this small-scale farce.

As the boy who declared war left, he whispered again, "Gu Ya, if you dare not show up, I'll post your misconduct on the academy system."

The class was dull, and Gu Ya didn't pay attention the entire time.

He was very confused.

He spent the entire class but couldn't figure out where these Mid-level mecha pilots got the nerve to challenge him.

Even if they posted his misconduct on the academy system for everyone to see, Gu Ya could modify it using [Code Tampering].

However, things would become very troublesome in the future.

To solve trouble, one must face it directly and eliminate it, removing future issues.

"Sigh..." Gu Ya sighed and said in a low voice, "A battle to establish dominance, is it? My hands are itching anyway."

Ning Shushu's voice came from behind, apologetically and quietly, "I'm sorry, Gu Ya, it's all because of me... I... I told them not to fight with you."

Gu Ya felt a pang of disgust and ignored her.

The dismissal bell rang, and as Professor Lü left the classroom,

Almost all the students in the class stood up, looking at Gu Ya coldly.

The scene was silent and extremely chilling.

Gu Ya slowly stood up, picked up his jacket, and said softly, "See you at the training ground."

...

The mecha training grounds at Zhuoyuan City Mechanic Academy were not very large, only capable of accommodating twenty mechas for simultaneous training.

In terms of size, they were smaller than those at the 12 Wastewater Treatment Area Preparatory Mecha Pilot Academy.

However, in terms of functionality and variety of trainer mechas, they were more comprehensive than the Xian Guo Defense Academy.

After all, it was a mechanic academy; they had plenty of such large toys.

Out of the 18 students in the class, only Ning Shushu and Leng Yun did not participate.

Ning Shushu was actually one of the instigators of this confrontation. If she hadn't been unable to refuse her classmates, Gu Ya wouldn't have cursed. Given her personality, she wouldn't have resorted to violence against Gu Ya.

Leng Yun, a melancholic girl, gave off an aura of weariness even from breathing, and also disliked fighting.

All 15 students chose the strongest trainer mechas and stood on the training ground, quietly waiting for Gu Ya.

As expected of a mechanic academy, these trainer mechas were very well maintained. They stood at a standard height of 14 meters, with powerful arms, their armor gleaming under the white lights.

Some students were already secretly gloating and discussing how they would crush Gu Ya, an Elite Mecha Pilot, later.

Gu Ya wasn't trying to play the underdog; after all, they were classmates under the same roof, and he had to give them some face.

Therefore, he chose the oldest miniature mecha, only 6 meters tall and weighing three tons, no larger than a road roller.

Its only offensive weapon was two retractable metal hand blades in its hands, without any beam edge.

The cockpit was still clean. The control panel and control sticks were rusty, but all the buttons were intact.

After all, it was a mechanic academy; even if it was old, it would be repaired to its optimal condition.

When he piloted this dilapidated mecha onto the training ground,

Everyone, except Leng Yun, was surprised.

Ning Shushu's eyes filled with regret, "Oh, no, it's my fault Gu Ya is in this situation. This... why would he use such a broken mecha? What if he loses... it's all my fault..."

Leng Yun sneered and said softly, "Tch, those who will lose are those people."

Ning Shushu turned and asked, "Do you know Gu Ya?"

Leng Yun's eyes flickered, and she didn't answer.

A male student said, "Gu Ya, do you want to get beaten that badly?"

"Even though we are all Mid-level mecha pilots, we know the basic mecha kill moves. You're using a broken mecha from over a decade ago. Who are you looking down on?"

Gu Ya said coldly, "Stop the useless chatter and fight quickly. I'm hungry."
