"Grandma will teach you," Jiang Ziyu relayed what she had just heard.
Di Jianhan crowded to the front, half of his cheek aching as if he had been slapped. His own son was less important than his grandson.
Di Mingjue walked to the old lady's side, leaned in, and responded gently, "Grandma, I'm here. Tell me if there's anything, I'm listening."
His arm trembled as he reached out from under the covers. Di Mingjue lowered his head to look, and immediately reached out in response.
Feeling Di Mingjue's presence, the old lady calmed down considerably.
When the old lady didn't respond for a long time, Di Mingjue looked at Jiang Ziyu with some confusion.
"Don't worry, Grandma is very weak now and doesn't have the strength to talk much," Jiang Ziyu said, stroking his shoulder to explain.
Upon hearing this, Di Mingjue's anxious heart was finally put at ease.
The old lady's sudden illness brought the usually buzzing household to a halt. The atmosphere at home was tense; everyone was distracted, each with their own agenda.
To be able to notice the old lady's discomfort immediately, Di Mingjue practically slept on the floor in her room.
Every day, he either went out to work, or returned home to spend some time with the children before going to take care of the old lady.
Having figured out Di Mingjue's daily schedule, Lu Sisi timed her arrival to be there before him, waiting in the old lady's room.
She carried a basin of warm water, looking around furtively as she slipped into the old lady's room.
After fainting, the old lady spent her days sleeping. She had no fixed times for waking up.
Lu Sisi moved a stool to the bedside, then placed the basin on the stool. She wet a towel, wrung it out, and then looked at the clock on the wall while holding the towel.
Hearing footsteps, Lu Sisi immediately bent over, wiping the old lady's arms, meticulously attending to every finger.
"What are you doing here?" Di Mingjue stood at the doorway, glaring at her coldly.
Lu Sisi stood by the bed, holding the towel, unsure of what to do. "I, I just wanted to wipe Grandma's body to make her more comfortable."
Seeing the basin of water and the towel in front of her, Di Mingjue finally stepped inside. He reached out and took the towel from her hand. "Give it to me, you can leave now."
"Let me do it. It might be inconvenient for you in some areas," Lu Sisi reminded him.
Hearing this, Di Mingjue realized. While wiping his arms and face was fine, attending to his body under the covers was indeed inconvenient.
Seeing him ponder, Lu Sisi quickly added, "Let me do it."
After this back and forth, the towel returned to Lu Sisi's hands.
"Brother Mingjue, I see you're so busy every day. Why don't I stay with Grandma? That way, you can get more rest."
"No need."
Di Mingjue did not accept her offer. He hadn't even agreed when Jiang Ziyu wanted to stay.
Lu Sisi glanced back at Di Mingjue on the sofa behind her, put down the towel, and quietly moved in front of him.
A beam of light fell from above. Di Mingjue looked up.
"Don't move, Brother Mingjue, you have something on you." Lu Sisi's eyes fixed on his chest, and she lunged towards him.
Before Di Mingjue could react, Lu Sisi was already pressed against his chest.
Before he could push her away, Lu Sisi moved away herself. She held a ball of white fluff in her hand and presented it to Di Mingjue as if it were a treasure.
"Good thing I found it. If it got on Grandma, she would have been uncomfortable."
Di Mingjue stood up from the sofa uncomfortably and coldly issued a polite dismissal, "If there's nothing else, you can leave."
"Okay, call me if you need anything, Brother Mingjue." Lu Sisi picked up the basin and left the room.
Standing in the hallway, she stared at Jiang Ziyu, raising her eyebrows triumphantly. She walked up to her with a smug tone, "Brother Mingjue just asked me to wipe Grandma's body. I thought Sister Ziyu wasn't home?"
