Chapter 467 The S on the Wrist

"The syringe is poisoned, be careful not to get pricked!" Jiang Ziyu warned Di Mingjue, and the two separated to opposite sides.

The man's target shifted to Di Mingjue. Disregarding the bodyguards behind him and Jiang Ziyu to his left, he charged towards Di Mingjue.

Trying to stab him? Such a naive thought!

Di Mingjue agilely dodged the man's reckless charge. With a counter-swing, he grabbed a nearby vase and hurled it at the opponent.

The man raised his hand to block the vase, momentarily obstructing his vision. Jiang Ziyu, from the side, delivered a flying kick. His knees buckled, and the man knelt on the ground.

The bodyguards from behind also rushed forward, their heavy bodies pressing down on the man's back. He tried to retaliate, but couldn't straighten himself.

Sensing his intention to use the syringe, Jiang Ziyu stomped on his hand. She forcibly snatched the syringe from his grip, rendering the man completely defenseless.

"Remove his mask," Di Mingjue instructed.

Jiang Ziyu took off his hat and mask, revealing the man's face.

After stripping the bedsheet, a bodyguard twisted it into a rope to bind the man's arms. He was then dragged to a corner, with Jiang Ziyu standing over him.

"Speak. Who are you, and why did you kill him?"

The man turned his head away, refusing to respond.

"Not talking?" Jiang Ziyu crouched down. Di Mingjue, worried she might be harmed, reached out to block her.

Jiang Ziyu pulled out her phone, opened the camera, and aimed it at the man's face, capturing his likeness with a click.

After sending the photo, she addressed the man, "You still have a chance before I find any information about you. Once I have your details, your answers to my questions will be useless."

The man before them was unyielding. No matter what Jiang Ziyu said, his lips seemed sealed, refusing to utter a single word.

"Fine, such backbone." Jiang Ziyu turned to the bodyguard beside her, "Call the police."

As the bodyguard's phone was just out, and he had dialed only one digit, he pointed at the man and exclaimed, "He, he's trying to commit suicide!"

Before Di Mingjue could react, the man, his face contorted in pain, bit his own tongue.

"Let go!" Di Mingjue grabbed the man's chin. The man not only refused to release his bite but closed his eyes, his teeth clamping down with even more force.

Seeing his head loll to the side, the man completely lost consciousness.

Di Mingjue extended a finger beneath the man's nose. He frowned, looked at Jiang Ziyu, and shook his head before standing up from the ground.

"He'd rather die than reveal his identity." Jiang Ziyu felt an overwhelming sense of dread.

Who were the people behind him, and what benefits had they offered to make him so dedicated?

Di Mingjue put an arm around Jiang Ziyu's shoulder and instructed the nearby bodyguards to search the man.

The bodyguards thoroughly searched the man from head to toe but found nothing.

It seemed he had planned for failure before his arrival.

"Take him out and dispose of him," Di Mingjue commanded.

If the people in the shadows wanted to find him, there would surely be further movements.

The bodyguards carried the man away, his arm dangling loosely in the air. As they turned to leave, Jiang Ziyu called out to the bodyguard.

"Wait."

She stepped forward and pulled up the man's sleeve, revealing a small 'S' tattooed on his inner forearm.

"S?" Di Mingjue glanced at it. "An initial for his name?"

"No," Jiang Ziyu shook her head, voicing her speculation. "He remained silent after being captured and sacrificed himself to protect those behind him. Aside from assassins living on the edge of a blade, who else would act in such a manner?"

"You mean, 'S' represents the organization behind him?" Di Mingjue surmised, following Jiang Ziyu's line of thought.

It couldn't be entirely certain, but it was highly probable.

Jiang Ziyu walked around to the front and once again pulled open the man's shirt.
