"Dare to babble nonsense again and I'll rip your mouth apart?" Jiang Ziyu raised her arm, her open palm held mid-air.
Song Xinyi felt a pang of fear, but with the servants watching, her pride prevented her from backing down.
"Brother Di Jue, she has a violent tendency. How can someone like that stay by your side?" Song Xinyi seized the opportunity to hide behind Di Mingjue.
Her renewed closeness made her smug. Her fingers, gripping his clothes, eagerly wrapped around Di Mingjue's waist, stealthily lifting his shirt hem.
Taking liberties?
Jiang Ziyu rolled her eyes in disdain as Di Mingjue showed no reaction.
Just then, a servant attending the old lady arrived from the separate wing to the main hall.
As she stepped through the doorway, the scene of a battlefield froze her at the entrance. "Young Master, the Old Madam wants you to come over."
Before Di Mingjue could respond, Jiang Ziyu, impatient, rushed to the servant. "Is Qianqian unwell again?"
"Miss Qianqian refuses to eat and is asking to see you," the servant explained.
Jiang Ziyu turned to Di Mingjue like an enemy. "I'm going to see Qianqian now. If you stop me again, I'll fight you to the death!"
Before her words even fell, Jiang Ziyu pulled the servant along, urging her to lead the way to Qianqian.
As Jiang Ziyu appeared, Yuze immediately came down from a high place and fell into her embrace.
Witnessing this scene, the old lady looked on with satisfaction. She sent someone to bring fresh, hot breakfast and blocked Di Mingjue at the doorway.
The old lady was very pleased with Jiang Ziyu. Upon seeing the schemer Song Xinyi, her tone and attitude became distant and cold. "Miss Song, please excuse yourself. We have family matters to discuss."
Song Xinyi's attempt to get closer was intercepted. Feigning ignorance, she brazenly replied, "Mmm, Grandma Di, you speak. I'll just stand by the side and won't butt in."
The old lady saw through her little scheme at a glance. With her age and experience, she had encountered far more than what a young girl like her could deceive.
The old lady glanced at the servant beside her. The servant immediately understood the intention and stepped forward to take Song Xinyi's place.
"Miss Song, if there's nothing else, you should head back. I heard you're discussing marriage with the Wu family. You should focus more on your own marital affairs," the old lady intentionally mentioned.
The two families were old friends, and Song Xinyi was once the old lady's only choice for a granddaughter-in-law. However, her intentions were impure, and she had turned to other men for contact and emotional connection while Di Mingjue was in a coma.
Now, looking back, it was all too late.
Song Xinyi wanted to struggle, but the servant directly escorted her out of the Di mansion.
Her departure did not affect anyone. The old lady glanced at Jiang Ziyu and Qianqian, who were affectionately close inside the room, and then spoke to Di Mingjue, pulling his arm. "You are making a foolish mistake! Jiang Ziyu is such a good child. She married into the Di family when you were in a coma, and her good fortune brought you back to consciousness. She treats Qianqian like her own child. She always thinks of the best for you two. How could she not be good?"
"Qianqian is still a child, and her body is naturally weaker than an adult's. An allergic reaction from eating the wrong food can be treated with medicine, it's not as serious as you imagine. Look, separating the mother and daughter makes the elder unhappy and the younger one unhappy too."
The old lady persuaded him earnestly. She truly couldn't understand what he was thinking, stubbornly making simple matters so complicated.
"Ziyu is feeding Qianqian breakfast. Think it over carefully at the doorway. Once you've figured it out, then you can come in," the old lady said, then left Di Mingjue's side, leaning on her cane.
Though his eyes could not see, his heart could feel. Di Mingjue was well aware of how Jiang Ziyu treated Qianqian. It was precisely because of her goodness that Di Mingjue harbored worries.
