Chapter 129: Zhang Aimin Gets Captured
"Li Se... no, Chairman Li, it was all just a misunderstanding..."
Yu Rong hurried over to Li Se, though inwardly he was anything but willing. It was hard for him to believe that Li Se could be the chairman of Yuanfeng Group, yet the facts were undeniable.
Moreover, if he lost the cooperation with Yuanfeng Group today, he wouldn’t be able to explain it when he returned to his company.
"Misunderstanding?" Li Se looked at Yu Rong and sneered. "I wasn’t planning to trouble you in the first place. You were the one who kept humiliating me over and over. I already told you—I could make your deal fall through with just one word."
Yu Rong’s face twisted through several shades of emotion. "We’re old classmates. There’s no need to make things so tense. Besides, cooperating with Mingyi would be beneficial for Yuanfeng Group—"
"Get lost!" Before he could finish, Li Se cut him off. After uttering that single word, he turned and left without wasting another second on Yu Rong.
Yu Rong’s face turned deathly pale. He wanted to chase after Li Se, but the latter had already disappeared.
"Yu Rong, what do we do now?" Shao Yanni asked anxiously. She knew all too well how serious the consequences would be if their actions led to the failure of this deal.
Despite calling themselves executives at Mingyi, they were still just employees at the end of the day. Mingyi had put considerable effort into securing this cooperation with Yuanfeng Group. They had come today just to sign the contract—who could’ve expected things would take such a sudden turn?
Before Yu Rong could respond, his phone rang. It was the general manager of Mingyi. The moment he answered, a furious voice roared through the speaker:
"Yu Rong, you useless piece of trash! Yuanfeng Group just called—they’re canceling their cooperation with Mingyi, and the reason is that you offended their chairman? You’ve got some nerve, huh? How dare you provoke the chairman of Yuanfeng Group?"
"Let me explain—" Yu Rong tried to defend himself.
"No explanations needed. You’re fired, you worthless idiot!"
The call ended abruptly.
Yu Rong stood frozen in place. When he first saw Li Se, all he wanted was to flaunt his superiority and humiliate him—after all, back in the day, Jiang Ranran had always been by Li Se’s side. Now that they were out in the real world, he had to get his revenge.
But what he couldn’t understand was how Li Se, who he’d heard was still delivering food not long ago and even had to claw back money he’d spent on Zhang Yunyun, could suddenly become the chairman of Yuanfeng Group?
Damn it, the intel was wrong!
"Yu Rong, what happened?" Shao Yanni asked worriedly.
"I... got fired," Yu Rong sighed.
Shao Yanni frowned slightly, then looked at him seriously. "Yu Rong, let’s break up."
"Yanni, didn’t you say you truly loved me?" Yu Rong said gloomily.
"Pfft. You just got fired. You’re not even an executive at Mingyi anymore—what do you have to offer me now?" Shao Yanni was merciless. After saying this, she turned and walked away without hesitation, leaving Yu Rong with neither love nor career. He really wanted to break down and cry.
---
After leaving Yuanfeng Group, Li Se wondered if he should call Qiao Weiwei. After all, he had just asked Qiao Guohua for a favor, and the man had specifically reminded him to give Qiao Weiwei a call.
Thinking of that girl, Li Se pulled out his phone. Just as he was about to dial, an unknown number called him first.
"West Suburbs, Anming Factory. Come alone. Don’t even think about calling the police, or your woman dies." A deep, muffled voice spoke from the other end.
Then came a woman’s voice: "Let me go!"
Li Se’s pupils contracted—it was Zhang Aimin. Whoever had captured her was clearly targeting him.
Without hesitation, he hailed a taxi and headed straight for the West Suburbs.
Years ago, this area had been bustling with factories, but as other districts developed, the population here dwindled. Most of the old factories had long been abandoned.
Anming Factory was now derelict, likely slated for demolition soon. It was a perfect place for an ambush—no one would hear a cry for help.
When Li Se arrived, he saw a massive black man standing at the entrance, a cigarette dangling from his lips. The man glanced at Li Se and grinned cruelly. "You Li Se?"
His Chinese was awkward, heavily accented.
"Where is she?" Li Se asked coldly.
"Inside." The black man jerked his thumb toward the factory.
Li Se strode in without hesitation. The moment he stepped inside, the factory door slammed shut behind him.
Inside, several foreigners—white, black, and Asian—stood waiting. They all carried themselves like seasoned fighters, their bodies exuding a bloody aura. It was clear they had killed before.
Li Se’s mind flashed to one possibility: mercenaries.
Zhang Aimin was tied to a chair. She loved wearing professional office-lady outfits, and her long legs, clad in stockings, were bound together, adding a twisted allure.
The men around her leered hungrily.
When they noticed Li Se, the white leader smirked. "You’ve got guts, coming alone."
"Let her go," Li Se said flatly.
The white man glanced at Zhang Aimin and licked his lips. "Normally, once we complete a mission, we don’t cause extra trouble. But this woman is too beautiful—my brothers all want a taste. Plus, our employer gave us a special task: to make you watch as your woman gets played with by other men."
"I’ll go first!" The black man who had closed the door strode toward Zhang Aimin.
But the moment he passed Li Se, a fist lashed out like lightning.
**BAM!**
The black man, weighing nearly 200 pounds, was sent flying like a ragdoll. He crashed to the ground with a heavy thud, howling in pain.
The others stiffened. They knew exactly how strong their comrade was—yet Li Se had sent him flying with one punch.
This defied all logic.
Li Se looked lean, even somewhat frail. How could someone like him generate such terrifying force? Even trained fighters shouldn’t be able to send a man that size flying so easily.
There was only one explanation: Li Se’s strength far exceeded their expectations.
The white leader barely had time to process this before a shadow flashed before his eyes.
Li Se was already in front of him—in the blink of an eye.
