"What you said is trash," Li Se retorted, feeling displeased. He glanced at Yu Xuemin and sneered, "Who are you calling trash?"
"I'm calling you trash!" Yu Xuemin's face turned red with anger as Li Se dared to talk back. But as soon as the words left his mouth, he realized he had been tricked.
"Yes, yes, the trash is talking about me," Li Se nodded.
"Kid, I'm giving you a chance to apologize now. Otherwise, you'll pay the price for what you've said today!" Yu Xuemin said in a deep voice.
Li Se couldn't be bothered to respond. He turned to Mo Hai'er and said, "Sister Hai'er, let's go. Let's find a secluded spot to talk more."
"Sure!" Mo Hai'er was quite amused. She knew Yu Xuemin's identity and was surprised that Li Se dared to confront him so directly. He certainly had some courage.
A secluded spot?
Yu Xuemin could guess what that meant. He immediately said, "Kid, do you dare to have a shooting contest? If you win, you can take Hai'er with you. But if you lose, you'll have to get lost yourself, and this beauty here will have to stay!"
"Let's have a competition!" Mo Hai'er seemed excited.
"You seem quite confident in your shooting skills?" Li Se asked with a half-smile.
"Just average, but more than enough to deal with you," Yu Xuemin replied confidently.
"How about this, let's compete in archery, shall we?" Li Se said, glancing at the archery range nearby.
"As you wish!" Yu Xuemin said with a relaxed and cheerful demeanor.
There were quite a few people at the sports club. When they learned that someone was going to compete in archery with Yu Xuemin, everyone was stunned.
"Are you kidding me? Someone actually dares to compete in archery with Young Master Yu? That's insane!"
"Young Master Yu is just one step away from being a professional. He almost beat a professional player back then."
"I heard some clubs have invited Young Master Yu to be a coach, offering him any salary he wants!"
"This kid competing in archery with Young Master Yu is just asking for a beating!"
"..."
Many people started discussing it among themselves.
Li Se was a bit surprised to hear this.
"Heh, scared? If you're scared, then scram!" Yu Xuemin taunted.
"What's there to be afraid of from someone who isn't even a professional?" Li Se shook his head, not taking it seriously at all.
"It's simple. The distance here is fifty meters. The targets are painted with five colored scoring rings, from outer to inner: white, black, blue, red, and the bullseye is gold. The gold bullseye is called the Yellow Heart. We'll shoot three arrows each, on three targets, and see who is more accurate," Yu Xuemin said with a smile, then took out his bow and arrow.
"This bow and arrow set is worth at least a hundred thousand!" someone exclaimed.
Yu Xuemin glanced at the person and smiled, "A hundred thousand? You really don't have a good eye for value. This set is worth three hundred thousand!"
Many people gasped at the price. For most, archery was just a hobby, but Yu Xuemin's hobby was truly expensive.
"A good bow and arrow don't guarantee accuracy; it ultimately depends on individual skill," Li Se said, casually picking up an ordinary bow and arrow.
"Do you want me to go first?" Yu Xuemin asked.
"No need, you go ahead," Li Se shook his head.
"Watch closely, kid!" Yu Xuemin took aim and immediately shot the first arrow. At a distance of fifty meters, it was not difficult for him. The first arrow hit the bullseye directly!
*Tap, tap, tap...*
Applause erupted.
"As expected of Young Master Yu!"
"He hit the bullseye with the first shot!"
"This kid is definitely going to lose!"
"..."
Everyone began to chat excitedly.
"Yu Xuemin, that's impressive. Hitting the bullseye with the first arrow," Mo Hai'er said with a smile.
"Hai'er, it's just fifty meters, a piece of cake," Yu Xuemin replied, feeling relaxed and cheerful.
Mo Hai'er looked at Zhang Aimin and whispered, "Can our Mr. Li handle this?"
Zhang Aimin was a bit speechless. "Just watch."
Yu Xuemin proceeded to shoot his second arrow. As he released it, everyone gasped in amazement, because the second arrow also landed in the bullseye!
Two arrows, two targets, both hitting the bullseye!
"You can still leave now if you want," Yu Xuemin said smugly.
Li Se, however, said nothing, just watched calmly.
Seeing Li Se like this, everyone scoffed. Competing with Yu Xuemin in archery was a mistake from the start!
Yu Xuemin shot his third arrow. Although it didn't hit the bullseye, it was only a hair's breadth away from it.
"Young Master Yu is too amazing!"
"He won, he already won."
"Poor kid, does he even know how to shoot an arrow?"
"This third arrow was just a little bit off from the bullseye."
"What do you know? This third arrow is just for show."
"..."
The crowd started discussing again.
Yu Xuemin looked provocatively at Li Se and said, "Your turn!"
Li Se picked up the bow and arrow. He initially stood at Yu Xuemin's previous position, but after thinking for a moment, he retreated. He moved back about twenty meters.
"What do you mean by this?" Yu Xuemin frowned.
Li Se smiled and said, "Of course, it's to crush you. That fifty-meter distance is too close. I need a hundred meters!"
Saying this, he continued to retreat, and only stopped when he was quite far back.
Even if it wasn't a full hundred meters, it was at least seventy to eighty meters.
"Are you kidding me?" Yu Xuemin was somewhat annoyed, feeling that Li Se was humiliating him. "Even in competitions, it's only seventy meters. Who do you think you are?"
"This guy is just here to make a joke."
"A hundred meters? It'll be amazing if he can even hit the target."
"He probably doesn't even know how to shoot. Seeing how easily Young Master Yu hit the target, he thinks it's simple."
"The most terrifying thing is ignorance."
"..."
Scoffs and sarcastic remarks filled the air.
Even Mo Hai'er was starting to doubt Li Se. Although Zhang Aimin had great faith in Li Se, retreating to nearly a hundred meters made the challenge incredibly difficult.
Li Se ignored their words and, without much aiming, shot the first arrow.
Everyone looked on with disdain, waiting for a spectacle.
But then, something unbelievable happened. Li Se's arrow actually struck and knocked away the arrow that Yu Xuemin had shot into the bullseye.
At that moment, everyone couldn't believe their eyes. Was this real? Was it that incredible?
"It must be pure luck!" someone exclaimed.
Soon, everyone concluded that it was definitely luck, and no one could possess such skill.
Yu Xuemin, however, was starting to lose his composure. Was this kid playing the fool to catch the tiger? At fifty meters, while the other was at nearly a hundred, and he could knock away his arrow – was it really just luck?
