Chapter 275: Jealousy

Chapter 275: Chapter 275: Jealousy

Yang Mingming didn’t look at Sheng Tang.

Her gaze swept past Sheng Tang’s face as if it hurt her eyes, and quickly looked away.

To outsiders, she appeared to be looking down on Sheng Tang.

The girls with Sheng Tang were gossiping about Yang Mingming behind her back.

"She’s so beautiful, prettier than many actresses in the entertainment industry."

"Yeah, she’s almost as beautiful as Lan Fei."

Although Lan Fei never promoted herself as outshining others, her fans privately considered her to be incredibly stunning, incomparable to other actresses.

Jiang Baocu snorted lightly.

"Bao Chu, don’t you think Senior Yang Mingming is good-looking?"

Jiang Baocu was very cold: "I like kind-hearted people!"

She openly implied that Yang Mingming was malicious.

The others, unaware of the details, thought Jiang Baocu was just being petty and secretly found it amusing, but didn’t want to start an open conflict with her.

Everyone went to get their food together.

Jiang Baocu was fuming inside.

Sheng Tang smiled: "Don’t be like that, or people will think you’re a sourpuss."

Jiang Baocu: "I can’t stand her behavior. She won’t even look you in the eye, pretending she’s above you, but secretly she fears you. She orchestrated someone to bump into you and found people to slander you..."

"It’s not certain it was her."

"It was her!" Jiang Baocu declared confidently, "The wicked live long; why hasn’t she died yet?"

Sheng Tang ruffled Jiang Baocu’s hair: "Getting so angry will give you wrinkles!"

Jiang Baocu jumped, quickly holding the skin around her eyes: "Do I have wrinkles?"

Sheng Tang: "..."

After they finished eating, they ran into Yang Mingming again as they left the cafeteria.

This time, Yang Mingming was walking with Gu Jiahui.

They had a good relationship, and there were rumors that Gu Jiahui was pursuing Yang Mingming.

But Gu Jiahui was the dream guy of all the girls in the school, so people didn’t want to believe it, and the rumors died out.

Later, Gu Jiahui kept his distance from Yang Mingming at school, and instead, he seemed rather warm toward Sheng Tang.

When they stood together, they looked like a golden couple, truly a perfect match: both in aura and appearance, they exuded an air of nobility.

Sheng Tang and Jiang Baocu planned to take a side path, but Gu Jiahui saw her first.

He shouted loudly: "Sheng Tang?"

Sheng Tang couldn’t just run away, so she stood still.

Yang Mingming and Gu Jiahui walked up to them.

Sheng Tang was a couple of centimeters taller than Yang Mingming, so she could look directly at her face.

Yang Mingming’s gaze was distant, quietly scanning Sheng Tang and Jiang Baocu’s faces, then she slightly nodded at Jiang Baocu, as a form of greeting.

"Sheng Tang, I have a favor to ask." Gu Jiahui smiled.

Sheng Tang asked what it was.

"I heard from the teacher that for our senior year-end exams, they might use your ’Ode to the West Wind’ for the English portion. They’re not sure what type of questions yet. Since you’re the original author, could you write an analysis for me?" Gu Jiahui asked with a smile.

Just as he finished speaking, a ripple of emotion briefly crossed Yang Mingming’s cold and beautiful face.

Her fingers curled slightly.

Jealousy nearly overwhelmed her, causing her to choke.

Sheng Tang, however, looked indifferent: "There’s nothing to analyze, it’s just a poem. Besides, haven’t you heard of that story where the author couldn’t score well on the analysis of his own work?

The original intent of the text isn’t that important; what the teacher wants to test you on is the key. Plus, you said it’s only a ’maybe’; my work might not even be used."
