Chapter 256: Sheng Tang Arrives at Midnight

Chapter 256: Chapter 256: Sheng Tang Arrives at Midnight

Gu Shiting had always been very worried about Sheng Tang getting close to others. Last time, she had promised him that she would never have any contact with Gu Jiahui.

She broke her promise, so he was not happy.

Sheng Tang did not wait for the next day.

She paid attention to the movements in the house. When she saw that her parents and grandmother had all gone back to their rooms to sleep, she quietly took her coat, wallet, and phone and went out.

When she closed the door, she first put the key in, turned the lock, then closed the door, and slowly put the key back, not making a single sound.

She heaved a sigh of relief and ran out of the community.

This area where her family lived was relatively bustling and lively, one of the older parts of the city. As soon as she stepped out, she could catch a taxi.

The heavy snow had already stopped. In the middle of the night, there were even police officers sweeping the snow on the roadside.

Sheng Tang hailed a taxi and headed to the Gu Family Villa.

The car couldn’t get into the villa area, so it stopped at the gate. Sheng Tang remembered the way and walked over by herself.

She usually entered and exited by car, and had strolled with Gu Shiting before, so Sheng Tang didn’t think it was very far. But it was quite a distance to actually walk it step by step on her own.

The snow on the roads in the villa area had already been cleaned up by the property management. Even so, the ground was still a bit slippery.

By the time Sheng Tang reached the entrance of the Gu Family Villa, she was already sweating profusely.

She rang the doorbell.

The servant was taken aback. It was close to eleven thirty at night; who would be knocking at this hour?

Sister Chen, the servant, opened the door and, upon seeing Sheng Tang, exclaimed, "Miss Sheng, why are you here?"

Sheng Tang’s forehead was damp with sweat, and her eyes looked even more bright and moist, set off by the snowy light on the walls, making her beautiful and delicate, her skin as white as the snow. She was an extremely pretty young girl.

"Please come in quickly!" Sister Chen hurriedly added, and then shouted inside, "Song Chen, Song Chen, come out quickly."

Song Chen took a moment, shuffling to the door in slippers, absent-mindedly, "What’s up, Sister Chen..."

Seeing Sheng Tang, a slight surprise flashed in his eyes, but he quickly concealed it.

He smiled, "Tangtang is here?"

He glanced upstairs.

The window upstairs silently opened, and someone stuck their head out.

Sheng Tang looked up, and that head quickly retreated back, followed by the sound of hurried footsteps on the stairs.

Just as she steadied herself in the Gu Family living room, Gu Shiting rushed down from upstairs and embraced her tightly.

He held her tightly.

Sheng Tang: "..."

She was once again reminded of her previous life’s pet dog, Lele. Every time she came home and called its name, squatting halfway down, Lele would rush towards her madly, licking her face all over, leaving her drenched in dog saliva.

Except for not licking her, Gu Shiting’s actions were no different from Lele’s.

Sheng Tang felt a bit moved and a bit like laughing.

Song Chen was the first to laugh. Though he made no sound, his smile grew bigger and bigger.

He waved his hand to signal Sister Chen and others to leave, then he headed to the kitchen himself.

He instructed the cooks to prepare a late-night snack and then went back to his room to rest.

Gu Shiting held onto Sheng Tang tightly, and Sheng Tang could even feel his slight trembling.

She gently patted his shoulder, "I’m about to run out of breath..."

Her voice was muffled in her throat.

Gu Shiting loosened his grip slightly but didn’t have any intention of letting go of her.

He buried his head in her shoulder, rubbing hard.

He was already such a grown-up, yet he was really embarrassed to admit that he felt wronged all day long.

Why did Sheng Tang accept flowers from someone else? Why didn’t she directly throw them in Gu Jiahui’s face, or throw them out from the upstairs? Sheng Tang was not such a weak person.

The more he thought about it, the sadder he felt.

He couldn’t bear to show her a bad attitude, so he didn’t question her but hid away to sulk on his own.

"Tangtang!" he whispered, his voice choked with emotion.
