Chapter 308: Chapter 308 You Don’t Know Sheng Tang’s Background

Sheng Tang returned home without mentioning the matter to her family, fearing they would worry.

The next day, she got up early to go to school and met two classmates who greeted her on the bus.

"We’ve always believed in you, senior," said a freshman boy.

Beside him was a well-behaved and pretty girl, likely a classmate, and the two behaved intimately. They were surely dating in private.

"Senior, you’re amazing for finding the original video! If it were me, I’d just cry," the girl said.

She imagined if such a thing happened to her, she would first collapse!

"A lot of people would just cry, there’s nothing wrong with that," the boy said to his girlfriend, "That’s why senior is so amazing! Senior, we also voted for your slogan last time!"

"It’s true!" the girl laughed, "He was still canvassing for votes in the group chat late at night, so excited."

Sheng Tang smiled.

They chatted all the way to school, and Sheng Tang parted from them to go to her own classroom.

There weren’t many people in the classroom, only four or five classmates. Sheng Tang arrived quite early today.

A few people gathered around.

"Sheng Tang, did you go on the forum last night?"

"No," Sheng Tang asked, "What’s up now?"

"Someone won’t give up, saying your original video is fake, that the two videos aren’t the same at all. Then, someone posted comparison pictures proving they were the same," a classmate said.

Sheng Tang smiled.

"Really persistent! Sheng Tang, be honest, is it Bai Shaolin?"

Sheng Tang became serious, "It’s not her!"

But a female classmate said, "I always felt it was her! She used to be very favored by Mr. Bai, but later your grades overshadowed hers, and Mr. Bai always favored you more. She must be resentful. So, she wants to get back at you and Mr. Bai."

This reasoning was logical.

But Sheng Tang knew, it wasn’t Bai Shaolin.

Because Bai Shaolin didn’t have the brains for it; her flowery brain couldn’t hold such a big scheme.

"It’s really not her," Sheng Tang said, "I can be sure it’s not someone from our grade."

A smart boy asked, "Is it someone from the third year?"

"I don’t know," Sheng Tang smiled.

More classmates arrived, and everyone scattered back to their seats.

Jiang Baocu arrived late.

She had stayed up late surfing the internet last night again.

"Sheng Tang, when are we going to report this to the police?" Jiang Baocu asked her.

"What?"

"Didn’t you record Bai Shaolin’s words yesterday? She slandered you, and you said you’d report it to the police," Jiang Baocu said.

Sheng Tang smiled, "Let’s wait."

"Wait for what?"

"Wait for her to apologize to me," Sheng Tang said, "If she apologizes, I’ll let it go."

Jiang Baocu still felt unsatisfied, thinking they should go directly to the police and then sue Bai Shaolin.

"Why let her off so easily?"

"Are you silly?" Sheng Tang laughed, "Slander isn’t a crime, the police don’t handle it, it’s a civil lawsuit. Her family knows more lawyers than I do, it’ll cost me money and time, and we’re not even sure to win. Why bother? Sometimes, it’s better to just let it go."

Jiang Baocu: "..."

It made sense.

While they whispered to each other, the homeroom teacher appeared at the classroom door, with Bai Shaolin behind her.

Bai Shaolin stood at the door, not coming inside.

After returning home yesterday, she had been uneasy. She consulted a lawyer, who said that if it turned into a lawsuit, she might not necessarily lose, and nothing would come of it.

Her mother was also very angry and called the homeroom teacher, demanding that Sheng Tang delete the recording.

To their surprise, the homeroom teacher said, "I can’t do that, you don’t know Sheng Tang’s background."
