Chapter 316 The First Date

Chapter 316: Chapter 316 The First Date

Gu Shiting quickly agreed.

As Sheng Tang was about to leave, Gu Shiting held her back and softly said to her, "Tangtang, the restaurant we’re going to requires formal wear as a matter of etiquette; otherwise, the waiters may not serve us."

Sheng Tang responded, "Got it."

"Do you have a dress?"

"Yes, didn’t the madam give me one last time?" Sheng Tang smiled, "I’ll wear that one."

That one would do too.

Gu Shiting nodded.

After Sheng Tang got home, she took out that dress and found it had become a bit loose.

A little looseness wasn’t a problem, it wasn’t too baggy; Sheng Tang felt it was good enough to wear.

While she was getting ready, Gu Shiting was also at home picking out clothes.

He stood indecisively in front of the wardrobe.

Gu Shiyan came home around nine in the evening, looking exhausted.

The servants hurried to prepare her a late-night snack.

"Aren’t the master and madam home?" she asked.

The servants said they weren’t.

"Is the young master asleep?" Gu Shiyan asked again.

Sister Chen, the servant, replied, "At this time, the young master is usually in the gym, but he hasn’t gone downstairs today."

"Why?"

"I don’t know, Miss Sheng came over for dinner today," Sister Chen said. "After they ate, the young master went back to his room and hasn’t come out since."

Gu Shiyan thought they might’ve had a lovers’ quarrel and hurried upstairs.

Gu Shiting’s door wasn’t locked, and Gu Shiyan carelessly pushed it open without knocking.

Then, she was stunned—

Gu Shiting’s bed was covered in clothes.

It seemed he had gone through his entire wardrobe, throwing clothes haphazardly all over the floor and bed.

"What are you doing?" Gu Shiyan leaned against the door without stepping inside, "Did you get robbed?"

Gu Shiting ignored her.

He had put on a light gray shirt, with coffee-colored trousers; a matching jacket and vest were laid out beside him as he was tying his tie.

Western suits, like cheongsams, look best when custom-made; a bit loose or tight just won’t cut it. Off-the-rack suits often look either like insurance salesmen or doormen.

Only custom-made suits carry an air of nobility.

Gu Shiting’s suits were undoubtedly the finest, but his sister couldn’t help herself, "Dressed like that, are you going to sell insurance or cars?"

Gu Shiting meticulously finished binding his tie.

Ignoring his sister, he looked at himself in the mirror, slightly furrowing his brows.

With his broad shoulders and long legs, he looked incredibly handsome in a shirt and trousers, almost unusually alluring.

Even so, he was still dissatisfied.

Gu Shiyan remarked, "That outfit is fine, but it makes you look ten years older! Try a white shirt instead, let me see."

Gu Shiting gazed at the mirror for a long while without heeding his sister.

He didn’t change the shirt; instead, he swapped the tie.

His careful approach made Gu Shiyan even more curious. She sat on his bed, using his expensive shirts as a cushion, "What’s happening tomorrow anyway? You’ve never been so particular about your clothes."

"Going out to eat with Tangtang," Gu Shiting replied.

Gu Shiyan understood.

Of course, it was as expected.

Gu Shiting’s life was monotonously simple; besides Tangtang, nothing else seemed to matter to him.

"It’s just a meal," Gu Shiyan scoffed, "Why are you so nervous? Haven’t you two eaten together before?"

"This time it’s different."

"What’s so different? Are you going to eat dragon meat?"

"This is our first date," Gu Shiting replied.

Gu Shiyan: "...."

The overwhelming scent of romance in the room nearly suffocated her. Miss Gu felt both envy and jealousy, "Honestly, who hasn’t been on a date before?"

Feeling disgruntled, she exited her brother’s room.
