Sheng Tang went downstairs and quickly brought back a friend.
The girl was tall and slender, holding a huge basket.
Sheng Tang followed behind, also carrying one.
Professor Sheng and his wife, along with the grandmother, looked over and hurriedly invited the girl to sit inside.
There was no barrier between the Sheng Family’s dining room and living room; the dining room was just slightly more inward. Gu Shiting was eating with his back to the door, he turned his head to glance.
He didn’t recognize her, she wasn’t someone he was wary of, and he wasn’t interested, so he continued eating.
Sheng Tang introduced her to his parents: "This is Li Ye, she used to be in our class but later transferred to another."

Last night, Li Ye suddenly called, and Sheng Tang didn’t recognize her voice at first.

Li Ye wasn’t great with words, she kept saying thank you over and over, then stood up to leave.
The Sheng Family tried their best to keep her for lunch.
Li Ye said: "This afternoon, my family is going to the countryside to visit my grandparents, I have to hurry back."
"How can you leave without having lunch?" Grandma insisted she stayed, "It’s not urgent right now."
Sheng Tang saw Li Ye’s unease.
Li Ye was probably giving a gift for the first time in her life and wasn’t good at interacting with elders, she was now quite uncomfortable.
Sheng Tang empathized with her: "Grandma, it’s near the end of the year, everyone is busy. Once school starts, I will invite classmates over on weekends, and I’ll invite Li Ye then."

Gu Shiting smiled.
He felt very fortunate indeed.
