Chapter 280: Moving Day

Chapter 280: Moving Day

Jack was sitting in his office in his soul space when his phone rang. Looking at his phone, he saw that it was Phineas calling.

Madison had established cellphone service throughout his soul space so that people outside his personal space could still easily contact him while he was inside his personal space.

"Phineas," he said as he answered the phone, "what’s the good news?"

He knew Phineas was holding a board meeting to get approval for the sale, so he was expecting Phineas’ call.

"It’s done," said Phineas. "They all signed off on the deal. I’ve already forwarded the agreement to Dan at Summit Partners. Once I get confirmation from Dan that everything is copacetic, I’ll initiate the purchase of Jensen Manufacturing."

"Good news indeed. Did you get any pushback from employees when you asked them to sign a new NDA?"

"A few grumbled, but signed regardless. And after the all-hands meeting, they were all smiles. Everyone is excited at the prospect of releasing a new headset. Especially the sales and marketing teams."

"Great. And I’ll bet they’ll be even more excited when they get their hands on the pre-production model."

"Yes. Yes, they will. Anyway, just wanted to call you and give you the good news."

"Thanks for letting me know."

They hung up, then Jack went back to studying cells in his molecular modeling app.

Meanwhile, in the physical world, he was crossing the quad on his way to chemistry class when his phone rang. Seeing that it was Abigail Wexler, his real-estate lawyer, calling, he answered.

"What’s up, Abigail?" he asked.

"Jack, good news. Your mansion is ready. You can stop by anytime to pick up the keys and security system paperwork."

He’d heard from Miranda that her class had just finished supervising the installation of all the new furniture and decorations, so he’d been expecting Abigail’s call.

"Excellent. Thanks for all your hard work, Abigail. I’ll stop by later this afternoon."

"Great. See you then."

They hung up, and as he walked to class, he started sending messages to all his girls, letting them know they could start moving into the mansion that evening.

The mansion was now fully furnished so all they needed to do was pack suitcases and drive over.

——————————

Jack pulled into the driveway of his new mansion in his Maybach and pulled to a stop in front of the house. Katie, driving his Land cruiser, and Madison, driving his GR Supra stopped behind him.

Samantha, her mom, and Naoko, who were riding with him, made noises of appreciation as they got out of the Maybach with him.

"Holy shit, Jack," said Samantha. "You weren’t kidding. This place is huge."

"You aren’t expecting me to keep this place clean, are you?" asked Lorie.

"No, Lorie. I expect all of us to keep this place clean. I thought about hiring a cleaning service, but decided it was too much of a security risk. So, we’ll all work together to keep it clean. With so many hands, it probably won’t take more than a few hours a week."

"Hmm, that’s okay, I guess," said Lorie. "And you’re right; with all of us working together, it probably won’t take much time at all."

Jack walked up to the front door. There was a black box attached to the house, to the right of the door frame and tilted at an angle. On the top face of the box was a set of buttons, all blank except one, which was glowing a faint yellow.

He pressed the yellow button, and all the blank buttons lit up, each with a number between 0 and 9, but in a scrambled order, not matching a normal phone or computer number pad.

Samantha, who had walked up behind him, asked, "Why are all the buttons blank?"

"Step closer," he said.

She moved up next to him and leaned over. "Oh! You have to be right over the keypad before you can see the numbers. Smart. But...why are the numbers all scrambled like that?"

"You know how in the movies, they always figure out the key code by looking at button wear, or fingerprints, or by secretly filming the person enter the code?"

"Yeah? Oh! Do the numbers scramble each time you want to enter the code?"

"Yep. They call this a scramble-pad. Each time you want to enter the code, you have to push this yellow button, and the numbers are scrambled each time. This makes it impossible to get the code unless you are right next to the pad."

"Wow, seems a bit much for a house, don’t you think?"

"Maybe, but I’m not taking any chances," he said. Then pointed at a metal-framed piece of dark glass mounted above the scramble pad. "This is a palm reader. I’ll get all of you set up with both the palm reader and a code."

The buttons on the scramble pad had gone dark as they talked, so he pushed the yellow button again, waited for the other buttons to light up, then punched in an eight-digit code.

There was a beep, then, when he heard a clack sound, he pushed on the front door and it opened inward.

He turned to Samantha. "I’m going to go open some garage doors so we can all park inside. Then we can get everyone registered in the security system."

He turned and walked through the large foyer, past the even larger front sitting room, past the spacious dining room, into the kitchen, then down a short hallway, past the bedroom-sized pantry, to the door that led to the garage.

Entering the garage, he found an array of large numbered buttons mounted on the wall to the left of the door. He pushed numbers one through three and watched as the garage doors opened, almost silently.

The door separating the garage from the interior of the house was just as solid as the front door, and there was a scramble pad and palm reader next to it inside the garage.

He walked out through garage door number one and headed towards his Maybach.

Katie and Madison had their driver’s side windows down and were grinning at him.

He waved, then pointed at the garage doors numbered two and three.

They nodded, then drove their vehicles around his Maybach and pulled into the garage.

After pulling his Maybach into the garage, pushed the buttons to close the garage doors.

Samantha was holding the interior door open, so he didn’t need to enter a code to get back into the house.

Robin had ridden with Madison in his GR Supra, and Miranda, Analise, and Amanda had ridden with Katie in his Land Cruiser. They, plus Samantha, Loria and Naoko, all followed him into the house.

Jack wanted to head straight upstairs so he could get everyone registered in the security system, but when they reached the kitchen, everyone stopped to oh and ah.

Lorie in particular was rushing around, pawing the appliances and looking into each drawer and cabinet. Besides furnishing the mansion, Miranda’s class had been tasked with stocking the kitchen with everything a chef would need or want.

Lorie broke herself away from admiring everything in the kitchen to stop in front of Jack and drop to her knees.

"Oh, Jack!" she said, almost sobbing in joy as she grabbed his belt.

He smacked her hand lightly. "I get that you’re happy, Lorie. But that can wait. Let’s get everyone registered in the security system, then everyone can do whatever they want."

Lorie huffed in amusement but relented in her efforts to free his cock.

They all trooped upstairs to the master bedroom, where the security system master control panel was located.

To register, each person needed to provide an eight-digit code, both palm prints, and a face scan. They also needed to say several phrases so the system could recognize their voices, and they recorded several code words.

Once they were done, Lorie, while sliding her hands slowly down his chest, said, "Now, about that show of appreciation you so rudely interrupted."
