Chapter 114 Boss, Are You Joking With Me?

Another morning dawned, and Meng Huai was busy with something at the counter. Sister Ting entered and saw Meng Huai standing in the morning sun, a picture of tranquil beauty.

"Good morning, boss. What are you busy with?"

Sister Ting leaned in and saw that Meng Huai was writing on a piece of paper.

Meng Huai finished writing and handed the newly drafted recruitment advertisement to Sister Ting. "Here, didn't you say yesterday that you needed more staff? I wrote a recruitment ad, hang it outside the door."

Sister Ting looked at the advertisement and thought, Is this how people recruit now? Don't they just post on a recruitment website, and a bunch of people see it?

Thinking this, Sister Ting asked, "Boss, will anyone see it if you hang it outside? How long will it take to find someone?"

Meng Huai gave her a "you don't understand" look and said mysteriously, "Someone will come."

By the time the shop opened, many customers had arrived, but no one inquired about the recruitment advertisement. It wasn't until close to noon, after Sister Ting had handed out all the day's number tags, that a gentleman stood at the door. He was dressed in a suit and looked like a refined gentleman. However, his expression was calm, and Sister Ting knew that despite his refinement, he was not a cheerful person.

Such people were easy to handle. Sister Ting placed the items in her hands in their proper places and stepped forward to ask, "Sir, is there anything I can help you with?"

"I'm here to dine."

Xie You looked around the entire shop. Everywhere he could see was already occupied. He remembered what Master Wen had said yesterday, that if he came late, there would be no seats. It seemed his words were true!

Sister Ting was already skilled at handling such situations. She smiled and told the customer in the gentlest tone, "Sir, I'm sorry, but both the online reservation slots and the on-site number tags have been fully taken for today. Would you like to come earlier tomorrow? Or you can scan here and make a reservation online."

Xie You didn't quite understand. "Online reservation?"

Sister Ting carefully explained to Xie You, "Yes, sir. Every day, our medicinal cuisine restaurant has one hundred dining slots. Fifty are issued on-site with number tags, and fifty are available for online reservation."

Xie You nodded. "I understand. I'll come again tomorrow."

Sister Ting thought that this person was just as she had expected. He wasn't someone who would cause trouble. See how agreeable he was!

As Xie You left, he glanced at the recruitment advertisement hanging at the door before departing.

Meng Huai was not present at the time. When she returned, she asked Sister Ting, "Did anyone inquire about the recruitment today?"

Sister Ting said with a sigh, "No! Boss, shall we post on a recruitment website?"

Meng Huai counted on her fingers and told her, "No need. Someone will come tomorrow."

The next day, Xie You arrived at the shop a little earlier. Meng Huai was at the counter. Xie You looked at the young girl and assumed she was an employee, or helping her elders manage the shop.

Xie You walked up to her and asked, "Are there any slots available today?"

Meng Huai looked at the counter. The box where the number tags were placed was now empty. She could only regretfully tell him, "No."

Meng Huai looked at Xie You a few more times. The aura of fortune surrounding Xie You was rather peculiar. What should have been dazzling to the point of blinding was now like dust-covered jade. Meng Huai mused, what had this person experienced to manifest such an aura?

Xie You noticed the young girl behind the counter staring at him and frowned slightly. He wouldn't normally make such an expression. Wherever he went, all eyes followed him; he was accustomed to it. But this young girl's gaze made him uncomfortable, causing him to frown subconsciously.

Xie You looked back at the shop again. It was filled with customers, and even a few more guests had arrived, bought some tea, and left satisfied.

As the customers left, he saw the recruitment advertisement displayed at the door again.

He had come yesterday and today, and he clearly felt changes in his senses. However, the feeling was very slight; if he hadn't been sensitive to perception before, he might not have noticed.

Therefore, he believed that this place truly possessed something that could repair his perception, but he did not ask directly. After all, his damaged perception was still a secret.

In reality, it wasn't a secret at all; it had long become gossip among the star citizens.

Xie You stood at the counter without moving, and Meng Huai let him stand there. Seeing that Xie You was looking at the recruitment advertisement, she asked, "Hello, is the boss here?"

Meng Huai raised an eyebrow and said, "I am the boss. Is there something you need?"

"Oh?"

Xie You was surprised to learn that Meng Huai was the boss, but his expression remained unchanged.

He stated what he wanted to ask the boss, "I saw a recruitment advertisement hanging at the door. May I inquire about it?"

Meng Huai looked at him. He was tall and sturdy, suggesting he would be capable of running errands. His face always wore a hundred-percent smile, which would likely make him popular with customers. He spoke in a straightforward and polite manner.

Meng Huai immediately clapped her hands. "Alright, it's you!"

Meng Huai then informed him of the salary and benefits. "Five thousand star coins per month plus commission, with one day off per week. However, your rest days must be coordinated with the other two servers so that the three of you are not resting at the same time."

Meng Huai clearly explained the salary and benefits and asked Xie You, "Is that okay?"

Xie You thought, The salary is so low, only five thousand? Can it even buy a pair of shoes?

So, Xie You nodded and told Meng Huai, "Yes."

...

It wasn't for the salary that he came, so Xie You agreed.

Then, Meng Huai led Xie You to greet the staff. Since they were all busy at the moment, she could only introduce them one by one, and the process was hurried.

First was Sister Ting. Meng Huai pointed to Xie You and said to Sister Ting, "Sister Ting, this gentleman..."

Just as she was about to say more, she remembered that she didn't know the new employee's name at all. She then patted him on his back and asked, "What's your name?"

Xie You looked at his arm, which had just been patted. He had never been patted in such a "rude" manner before.

He thought for a moment and said, "Just call me Xiao You."

Meng Huai thought, Oh, his surname is You!

She continued to Sister Ting, "Sister Ting, you've been saying we hired a new server. Here, Xiao You."

Meng Huai gestured towards Xie You with the side of her thumb. Sister Ting looked over.

What she saw was the gentleman in the suit from yesterday, now wearing a different suit, standing tall beside Meng Huai.

Sister Ting thought, Boss, are you kidding me?
