Chapter 687: Chapter 387: When you retire and come home, I’ll cook for you and the kids.
Hearing this, Ivy Miller immediately beamed and nodded vigorously, "Mmm mmm mmm, Uncle, then I’ll wait for you."
She turned and ran towards the dormitory with a light step.
Henry Sullivan shook his head helplessly, she really is like a child.
As soon as Ivy got back to the dormitory, she started eating snacks and checking her shop’s information.
Usually, at home, she’d go half a day without getting an order, but here in the remote mountains, she’d already had two inquiries about products in one day, both of which ended in a sale.
She was a bit annoyed, she should’ve known to send out the goods this afternoon.
Thinking about it, if she asked Henry Sullivan to accompany her to ship the goods, he definitely wouldn’t agree.
So, she could only call Chloe Wilder.
Chloe was aware of her secret stash point for goods, and she had the keys.
As soon as the call connected, Chloe lamented dramatically, "Sis, what are you up to now?"
"Look at you, not ladylike at all, can’t you speak softly when answering the phone?
Be careful you don’t end up staying single forever."
"Shut up, shut up, blah blah blah, you’re jinxing me, just say, what do you want?"
"Chloe, we’ve been friends for so many years, I’m just going to be straightforward.
Go to my rented place this afternoon and help me send out some goods."
"I knew it, you always want something when you call me, didn’t you take the goods with you?"
"I did bring them, but it’s inconvenient to send them here, I have to go to the town ten kilometers away.
The main thing is, it’s raining here, and the mountain roads are especially hard to walk.
Oh right, I heard there are wolves around here too.
I’m just worried that looking this pretty, it’d be a pity if I got snatched by a wolf."
"Stop it, stop it, you wicked girl, don’t make me sick, hurry up and say what needs to be sent."
"Send a number two imitation version, I’ll text you the address later."
After hanging up, Ivy chuckled, how nice, she sells goods for money while Chloe runs errands for her.
At noon, Henry Sullivan brought back three dishes and a soup to have lunch with her.
This was the first time the two had eaten together since the wedding.
Ivy felt a little excited: "Uncle, the food from your canteen tastes quite good."
"Eating it every day, even the tastiest dish becomes ordinary."
"Can you cook?"
Henry Sullivan shook his head.
Ivy shrugged, "I can cook, when you retire and come home, I’ll cook for you and the kids."
Him and kids? Henry paused and looked at her.
Ivy smiled, "What, don’t you believe I can cook? How about I show you my skills at your canteen tonight?"
"No need, I believe you. Don’t you consider changing your current job?"
"Change? I quite like it."
"I remember you graduated from a normal university, why not be a teacher in a school?
A lot of people still can’t accept this kind of job."
Ivy pouted, "Because I don’t want my children to have a miserable future."
"Why?"
"Do you know why I learned to cook, Uncle?"
Henry Sullivan looked at her without speaking much, he didn’t know much about her.
"My dad is a soldier, my mom is a university professor, they’ve always been busy from my childhood.
They were often too busy to notice whether I had eaten or not.
I lived in the military housing complex, as a child I would pick up my own meals and eat alone.
As I got older, I didn’t like going to the canteen because there were always uncles and aunties asking why I was by myself.
I don’t want my kids to be like me, it’s not a pleasant feeling."
