"Boss Shui, the usual rules. If you like any stones, just say the word and my guys will get them for you," Boss Jin said. "But it's best to pick from the outside in. If you're not satisfied with these, we have a few more containers, and we can go through them one by one."
"Alright," Shui Xiang nodded and looked at Li Yang. "You have sharp eyes, I'll listen to you."
"Oh my, listen to Boss Shui, so gentle with Boss Li! If our competitors knew, how many would cry themselves to death?" Boss Jin joked.
Li Yang chuckled, "Are you already crying yourself to death? Then if we become even more intimate in the future, won't we just die without even needing to cry?"
"Ahahaha, Boss Li is humorous." Boss Jin roared with laughter.
Li Yang glanced at the stones in the containers, then pointed to a few, asking the workers to move them out one by one. Once a good number were moved, they began to discuss prices.
"Boss Li, I don't sell them individually. This batch is priced as a whole. How you sell them separately is your business. So, for this batch, it's a firm price, twenty million." Boss Jin looked at the stones he had chosen, twenty-three in total, averaging around eight to nine hundred thousand per stone.
This price was neither low nor high.
Li Yang smiled and said, "Fine, since Boss Jin says it's a firm price, then that's the price. Let's continue looking at the stones in the other containers."
"Boss Li is a straightforward person, no wonder Boss Shui likes you. I, this rough fellow, also like you!" Boss Jin clapped his hands and laughed.
He had actually been a little worried that Li Yang, meeting him for the first time, would haggle. He hadn't expected him to be so agreeable, and all his worries vanished, making him laugh even more heartily.
With a wave of his arm, Boss Jin said, "Let's not open them one by one then. You guys, open all the containers and let Boss Li pick whatever he wants."
"Yes, boss."
"Li Yang, he's treating you like one of his own," Shui Xiang said with a smile.
Li Yang chuckled, "So soon?"
"It's mainly because you're straightforward. The first time I traded with him, I haggled, so we opened the containers one by one. And there was one container with the best stones that he didn't even open for me at first. It was only later, after we became better acquainted, that I found out about it," Shui Xiang said with a smile.
Boss Jin chuckled, "Tattling on me? Boss Shui, you can't do that. I didn't want to, but good stones have to be saved for good customers."
"Otherwise, with so many rough jade suppliers in the world, whose business isn't business? Why would people specifically do business with me, right?"
"So they didn't say you weren't," Shui Xiang said with a charming laugh.
Boss Jin chuckled and pointed to a specially marked container. "Boss Li, I won't brag to you. This container is filled with jade from the Mogansha old pit. I absolutely wouldn't open it for just anyone, let alone sell it."
"These are all hot commodities. At the annual public auction in Southern Myanmar, they are the main attraction. Many people fight desperately to get them."
"Believe me, even large jade gambling markets rarely sell this kind of rough jade. They are almost always used to entertain high-end clients for auctions."
"Boss Jin is righteous." Li Yang's eyes immediately lit up.
In the market, any jade that carried the words "old pit" would be priced more than double that of ordinary rough jade. Mogansha was the ultimate old pit among old pits. The rough jade from this pit was also known as one of the best old pit rough jades in Southern Myanmar.
It was said that mining began there over a thousand years ago.
This jade pit was like an eggshell. The new pits initially yielded mostly the eggshell. As it became an old pit, one could mine the egg white and yolk, and occasionally, with good luck, the egg yolk itself.
Mogansha, being an ultimate old pit, was like mining the egg yolk. Therefore, any rough jade from there was bound to yield good things.
Consequently, the price of Mogansha rough jade, unless it was unusually small, never fell below one million per stone.
A container full of Mogansha rough jade was something that, among all the jade suppliers who came to Jiangcheng, only Boss Jin could procure.
It was no wonder he looked so proud when talking about it.
Boss Jin smiled proudly. "Boss Li, looking at you, I can tell you're a discerning person. Meeting for the first time and we're already so compatible. This time, I'll make an exception. Originally, I sell a maximum of five pieces per person, and you can't pick them yourself. As a special case, I'll sell you ten Mogansha pieces, and you can pick them freely."
"Boss Jin is generous!" Shui Xiang's pretty face moved. She hadn't expected him to be so good to Li Yang.
Li Yang smiled, "Then I thank Boss Jin. When I find good things later, you'll definitely get your share of good luck money."
"Haha, I knew Boss Li was a good person. I'm keeping track of this good luck money," Boss Jin laughed heartily and extended his hand. "Please, pick away."
"Alright."
Li Yang walked to the entrance of the container and looked inside. He was suddenly stunned. His initially expectant expression vanished, replaced by one of suspicion.
Shui Xiang whispered, "What's wrong, Li Yang?"
"These stones are not right," Li Yang frowned slightly and shook his head.
Shui Xiang was surprised. "Something's wrong? That can't be. Our jade merchants in Jiangcheng have been cooperating with Boss Jin for years, and there have never been any problems. He's not the type to mess around either."
"Let me take another look." Li Yang trusted her words very much. He immediately circulated his Wuxin cultivation technique, channeling his true qi into his eyes, and looked at this batch of so-called Mogansha rough jade again.
He saw that there were still some issues within these stones.
Now he was completely certain that his eyes weren't playing tricks on him; these stones genuinely had problems.
He rotated his gaze and looked at Boss Jin. Li Yang saw his smug smile and it didn't look like he was faking. It was likely that Boss Jin hadn't noticed any issues with this batch of stones at all.
Seeing Li Yang looking at him, Boss Jin smiled. "Everything I said earlier is true, Boss Li. Just pick them, I will absolutely not go back on my word."
He still believed these stones were excellent items.
If he hadn't been determined to be a supplier, he would have likely opened these stones himself long ago.
"Boss Jin, there's something I don't know if I should say," Li Yang said, looking at him with some hesitation.
This Boss Jin was a good person, and he truly didn't want to embarrass him.
But if these items had problems and he didn't mention it, it would ruin Boss Jin.
It was one thing if the items were still with him, but if they ended up with someone else and problems arose, he would face legal repercussions.
This wasn't like antiques, where problems could only be blamed on one's own poor judgment.
