After Jiang Lin bid farewell to the old man and emerged from the peach blossom courtyard, the first to arrive was Number Two, who hailed from the Heavenly Realm.
He wore a moon-white robe, possessed a tall physique, and his long hair was only half-tied. Unlike the commanding presence of a superior he remembered from years past, he now exuded a peaceful aura, resembling an ordinary person. His face was peculiar; at first glance, he appeared to be a common middle-aged man, but upon closer inspection, he seemed like a young man. Yet, if you turned away, you would forget. His true appearance was impossible to gaze upon directly, and equally impossible to recall.
However, the moment Jiang Lin saw him, he noticed a face remarkably similar to his own.
"Are you here?" asked Number Two, who was now the Heavenly Emperor.
Jiang Lin replied, "It's done. The review has also passed."
One of the reasons they had decided to repair the Heavenly Dao was the arrival of the reviewer from the main world. The fate of this world rested entirely on the reviewer's judgment.
Number Two inquired, "That's good. What are your plans now?"
Jiang Lin looked up at the sky and said, "I want to see other worlds."
Suddenly, he thought of something. "Where's Xiaobai?"
"Here," Number Two said, lifting a ball of white fluff from behind him.
It was truly a ball of white fluff, only slightly larger than a basketball. Two small ears peeked out from the fluff, along with bright, dark eyes, a tiny mouth, and four little paws. It was incredibly soft and cute, like a plush monster.
After being held, Xiaobai drooped its eyes, afraid to look at Jiang Lin. Its voice was small, "I, I… the souls that died because of 'My King' and were implicated by him, I've collected them all within myself, repaired them… and then sent them back. Only Beixue, she didn't want to come out of the Black Abyss; she jumped in herself."
"I, I… I'm sorry." As the little creature spoke, its eyes filled with tears, but it dared not cry. Its small body trembled slightly in Number Two's grasp.
"It's not your fault," Jiang Lin said, taking the little creature from Number Two. "It was 'My King' who deceived and tempted you."
"How do you know?" Xiaobai suddenly looked up at him, surprised and pitiful. It also felt self-reproach. After causing trouble, it realized it had been foolish. "But if I hadn't let it out, things wouldn't have turned out this way…"
"I'm sorry."
Jiang Lin looked at Xiaobai in silence, then sighed softly after a long moment. He gently stroked the little creature in his hands.
The Heavenly Dao had flaws, which meant that some things in this world could not be completely purified. For instance, the entities sealed by Nanming, Yanluo, and Xihe. Even if they were destroyed, they would eventually re-condense. This included demonic energy and the malice of powerful beings. Eventually, he gathered them in the Black Abyss, only able to delay their growth by constantly dispersing them.
At that time, he had tried to purify these substances. Unexpectedly, he created 'My King.' This entity, which looked very much like him, possessed many of his memories, but was filled with malice. Even if it were killed, because heaven and earth could not purify it, it would re-condense again soon after.
Upon discovering this, he found Xiaobai through various means. Xiaobai, born from the convergence of heaven and earth's spiritual energy, was the purest spirit beast. Having it guard 'My King' was the most suitable arrangement. 'My King' could neither escape nor defeat it. By residing within Xiaobai's belly for extended periods, its strength would also be weakened.
"Give 'My King' to me," Jiang Lin said, stroking Xiaobai's head.
"Okay." Xiaobai hopped out of Jiang Lin's hands. It gathered itself, facing the empty air beside them, and let out a burp.
A mass of black energy surged from Xiaobai's mouth, gradually forming a humanoid phantom in the air. After being dispersed by Nanming previously, it had taken some time to re-condense. However, Xiaobai, realizing its mistake, had swallowed it back into its belly.
"You… you're back?!" 'My King' was about to scold Xiaobai and find an opportunity to escape. But when it looked up, it saw Jiang Lin and the Heavenly Emperor. Its eyes widened, and it was almost speechless.
Jiang Lin glanced at it, his gaze indifferent, and extended his hand.
"Wh-what are you going to do…" In 'My King's' terrified gaze, Jiang Lin crushed its energy core with one hand. It dissolved into a mass of black mist and dissipated into the heavens and earth. This time, it would never re-condense.
As soon as this was done, Jiang Lin and Number Two simultaneously sensed something and looked in two different directions. One was a spiritual force from the depths of the Dragon Palace, and the other was a figure emerging from the Black Abyss.
"Kid, you're finally back! This old man's hemorrhoids are about to act up from waiting!" Following these two, Nanming, who had first sensed the situation in the Underworld, arrived swiftly.
"You've grown stronger again," Nanming said, looking at Jiang Lin. With just one glance, he felt the gap between them. But he still really wanted to fight!
After Nanming, Yanluo and Xihe arrived, followed by some strong cultivators from the Demon Clan.
"Ding~ Congratulations to the host for completing the ultimate mission: The Appointment! You have gained full access to the system!"
Welcome back, my master.
—End of Main Story—
Actually, the [Live Stream: Daily Healing in the Underworld] concluded in the first two chapters. The latter two chapters were more about supplementing the world-building and filling in plot holes. If I were to continue writing, there would indeed be much more to explore. Memories of past lives, the establishment of the Underworld by Number One, the Demon Realm, the Dragon Palace, live-streaming the Heavenly Court, the Three Thousand Worlds… these points have basically only been touched upon. To delve deeper would require at least several hundred or even thousands of chapters.
However, if I were to write them one by one, the later parts would actually have little to do with "Live Stream: Daily Healing in the Underworld," but rather become [Dragon Palace Arc], [Heavenly Palace Live Stream Arc], [Demon Realm Arc], [Past Life Arc], [Three Thousand Worlds Arc]… To avoid writing something that becomes tedious, lengthy, and deviates from the theme, I'll stop here for now. I will write some of these in the epilogues.
As for the Live Stream: Daily Healing in the Underworld arc, I've essentially promoted the cultural aspects of the Underworld that I could, and created various heartwarming daily stories from the Underworld. An end is a beginning. It's quite good.
Next will be the epilogues. Some heartwarming daily stories, some brainstormed ideas that couldn't be included in the main text… See you in the epilogues.
